New Members at Wealthy Affiliate. A few guidelines to help you.
New Members at Wealthy Affiliate first of all it's fabulous to meet you all. Be prepared for the best journey of your life. What you are given here will exceed you expectations. It certainly did mine. I have done so well for a non tech savvy who didn't have a clue about building a website or a blog. Let alone building my own online businesses. Writing articles I didn't have a clue how to do that either.
I have excelled in all of them and surpassed my own expectations. I feel that I need to offer you some guide lines to getting started here. I hope these will help you and not confuse you even more. So Let's get you started .
Now you will have the usual steps you should do upon starting like setting up your profile account. Then you add in some Goals. Now that's easy enough to do and adding in some of your goals. Something I was happy I did as I can now look back on it and think Yeaayyy I achieved that. So here I am just going to give you a few extra steps that most of you miss.
This is because there is so much at first and you just want to get a feel of the platform so you click on all sorts of things. Here are a few guidelines that I think are important. I should say I know that are important to you all.
They were important to me and are important to many of us here. I always feel when starting within Wealthy Affiliate if your serious then start the right way. Following those first guidelines are essential.
Adding in your Profile Image is easy to do!
This is easy enough to do. You don't even need your own profile image. You can use one from Wealthy Affiliate if you like.
I always find that you get better help in live chat with a profile image than none at all. That's my personal point of view but it's all so what I have noticed in the 2 years I have been here at Wealthy Affiliate.
Another thing the star in the bottom right of a profile means that person is a Premium member no star they are free members that's easy enough to follow. Once you go premium a whole new platform opens for you and it's amazing.
Going to Live chat.
Now lots of you beginners head to live chat. Which, is fabulous. You have to remember not all your answers will be correct as some don't give the right answer even myself at times but I am thankful enough that a more expert will come in and correct me there and then. I won't answer something I don't sometimes know I am wrong too.
You may find other members who will lead you away from live chat to your profile. Which, is silly because from what I see they don't offer you the advice you need. They may also ask you to PM them. That to me means they are steering you away from what you need to be doing. Leading you to more confusion.
In the beginning the only Pm's (private message) you need are from either Kyle or Carson or your referrer.
Yes you will have many members welcoming you on your profile page and that is absolutely fine it's our way of saying Hi.
I am a yearly member and I won't Pm you for any reason at all. I don't have a reason too. If, feel you need your referrer then I will guide you to the referrer who brought you here.
I will offer you guidance to this platform and this platform alone I will also do it in plain sight. I believe that's what keeps this platform a good and healthy one. Many members and i myself we work on these good ethics.
If, you get any unjust Pm's about changing your referrer or joining another platform they say is better don't believe them just please contact Kyle or Carson immediately It's rare it happens but it happens in any business online or a bricks and mortar one. :)
Finding out who referred you to Wealthy Affiliate.
I have already done a post on this. It is so important that you know who your referrer is. If, you send out a question your referrer will immediately know you need help. They will be able to contact you via their own profile. Your Referrer is the last person in Premium coaches in the help center Bottom tab on your left click it and it will be revealed there. . If, you don't have three there that means Kyle or Carson referred you.

Good advice but someone might actually pm them for a good readon with a link to their website. Like i PM members sometimes with a link to a post with all the keyword training at WA listed. - Shirley
We can share links to websites in live if it helps them in their training. We can link to an abundance of training. I always think for newbies its to keep them on a solid ground.
Like you said here also to add a link to some relevant training is just as good. Maybe you aren't others here Shirley. If they come to live chat its what we offer that relevant training.
I feel to start Pm'ing them if they are just got here newbies. Not premiums here I am saying walk through the door newbies.
Then they need their referrer. If not they can reach out to Kyle and Carson also. Your training you can share in Live chat I am not saying you can't. I am not saying you can't pm them but this isnt about personal growth. This is about helping very new members.
What is it we can teach them that they can't learn in plain sight in Live chat or else where Shirley not all run as just as you do. I am not saying you don't understand but understand what I am saying.
I hope you understand where I am coming from. To be honest if I had a new referral of yours. Then I would help them the same. If they wanted to pm me I would help them but guide them back to you.
Why would my training be better than yours. I doubt it could be. I would just direct them to you. So they know where they are at.

I agree, usually for keywords they are further along, not really rue newbies. I try to help anyone that needs it in live chat if its something I know myself. If they are my referral I check up on them regularly to see if they need help. - Shirley

That is all very helpful to new members Debs.
And I learned something new too - that the person who referred you is last in the list of Premium coaches!
Mind you, I do have to say that I have never ever been contacted by my referrer apart from when I first joined! I think that is quite sad, and I always try to contact my referrals to find out how they are feeling.

I find that kind of sad, Pribs was my referrer and although we don't see him much here.
If I Pm him he always gets back to me.
At least you know you didn't need them as you have excelled here yourself.

There seems to be an influx of newbies here. I always like them to know their referrer. As we get those who feel they can earn off the back of others. Which I do not take kindly too.
