Just Got My Backside Kicked by Google and heres Why!

Last Update: January 14, 2019

Just got my backside kicked by Google

There I am getting notification from Google that some sites of mine are mobile friendly and they can be used to be indexed. As Google is now using Mobile web pages to index rather than using Desktop Pc's and laptops. (If your site isn't mobile friendly start sorting it now) They use the android I like Android. :)

So I got my emails via google usual stuff however one of my sites wasn't happening. That's when I thought OK let me take a look.

Oh man the errors. 22 blummin pages of them. Easy errors may I add. Here is the stupid mistakes I made.

"The list is endlessss I could cry my eyes out but I won't. I might though crying my eyes out lol. emoji crying where's that emoji when I need him :((( he's on mobile :(((".

I have been blipping out content but never checking silly things like Grammar, Alt tags, images, adding in some good SEO. The most important parts of my businesses. I was just so busy doing one thing I neglected the most important issues. I did the home work make some images. My own ones. NOT GOOD ENOUGH SHODDY WORK DEBORAH.... Smmmhh :(((

I did all that but totally neglected my site. It was a rush job. In fact each post I wrote I remember that day. Then my blog roll got too long so I added in custom menus all on a rush job. My menus were all askew they didn't exist anymore. They couldn't be clicked on they were just coming short of yep Nothing. Categories what the heck categories for everything but lead to nothing....

Smmmmmhhhh on me. That's because I multi tasked. I had one priority and while that priority ran forward the other site slipped behind. I totally had wasted my time and gave out absolute shoddy posts. I didn't even realize.

Well I do now because this Website means so much to me. 22 pages and a whole lot more stuff I need to do to bring this back up. I now have more time on my hands. So I can regulate and fix this site. I WILL FIX THIS SITE. I wished I didn't have to though!!

Please do not multitask. IF, you feel your gaining traffic on ne site then don't leave it behind to start another. You don't have to be consistently on Google webmaster tools but you do need to take care of the site your working on.

Do not do what I did blip out content cause you thought you had the time. Another major mistake of mine.

One site can earn me fortunes when in all essence the next I just blip out like no tomorrow could actually kill all of my sites all together.

WOW, Debbi, this is a lot of issues. The good part is that you detect the problem on time and can have the opportunity to fix. Your site will be in a good extender with Google in no time.
I know you been work very hard, and this for you will be a very easy task.

Sorry to hear Debs, but thanks for sharing with us. I am building my second site and am going thru the training a second time. This way I can double check that everything was done right to my main site.
A second trip thru the training won't hurt anyone.

Good luck with the fixes.

Wow Debs. I don't even really know what to say.
Just reading this made me feel overwhelmed.

I haven't visited google tools since I decided to come back. Seems like I better get there now to check on my site.

I truly hope you get your site back to where it should be.
Wishing you the best in all you do

Hey Debs;

So sorry to hear you are going through this. It must be frustrating, but also a learning experience.

I've heard others say when they start a new website, they run through the lessons again to make sure they don't miss steps. I've done it myself in the past. Just something to consider.

Breathe and take it in steps. You'll get there.

Good afternoon Debs,

Hmmmm, what can I say? This is not funny. It sounds like too much hay on your fork even for a multitasker.
Thanks to Site Comment I go back to my 2 websites and check the posts before giving them out for comments. Doing this the whole thing has been rotating nicely I must say.
Hope you can fix this well, never a dull moment having websites, that is for sure.

Greetings from the south of Spain, Taetske

I feel like crying in this situation. But take a deep breath.
You know how to fix it. That is the best part.
Take it easy. Although I feel it should not have happened in the first place.
Part of blogger’s life.
Rush from day to night to make google happy. Load and load content.
I forget internal link sometimes.
Handle this in a great manner and write another post for us.

I know I shouldn't have, but I had a good laugh!
Happiness -one of the better emotions I enjoy.

You are a good writer and I thank you for the post and warning.

What are words if they cannot stir the emotions? Perhaps my words in my dull posts. But I am learning.

Thank you again,

I guess you can look at it this way, Debs.---Your blunder may be a great help to others! It's a good reminder, too, to stay on track with one site. I made that mistake in the beginning and paid for it down the road. You are smart and will work it all out! XOXO Love ya!

Debs,
So sorry to hear this honey, I know how busy you always are,
wish there was something I could do to help you :(

I am so glad I attended Jay's last couple of Live Training
and the Hot Seat one those are saving me massive amounts
of time today - only because I went and fixed all the dumb
errors I had in the first place.

It actually takes me longer to do the images, SEO, alt tags
meta descriptions, internal and external links than it does
for me to write my posts now days talk about sad.

Love you honey and hope all turns out well for you,
Susie ((xx)) ((Sending bunches of E-Hugs))

Debs,
I have a cheat sheet LOL - doing things in a sequence
each time makes it a habit so you do not forget to do any
of the necessary steps. Especially, since I love to multi-
task! Make yourself one in a couple of minutes it is easy
and great to have ::))
Love you so much honey and miss you always so much.

OK that was a very confusing post but I got the gist of it.
So easy to try to do too much at once and leave out essential steps.
Well Miss Debs you at lease know what you'll be doing for a while.
BTW I love that some WordPress themes allow you to check and edit for mobile and Tablet views (or do they all do that now?).

Best of luck with the fixing of it.

Hi,
This has nothing to do with WP WA it's down to my shoddy work and its Google my site is highly optimized for Google. Its just this site is the next big thing to my other site and it faltered. Its a big site with tons of articles. I just didn't do my work properly.
Some themes are not mobile friendly those themes will tell you that This theme is by Hiero all of mine are just the shoddy work that failed me. My fault BTW lol :)

Sorry to hear that, Debs. I'm sure you will find ways to fix it.
Thank you for sharing the tips!

Below is a Whiskey-sour that I messed up last night when I was multi-tasking -- cooking, packing lunches, and thinking about my website. Then I forgot to add some brown sugar. And I didn't use a shaker as I was multi-tasking. That drink turned out to be really sour. LOL

Aww, thank you, Tim. It will teach me not to multitask too much. Blipping out content with no thought is useless on all accounts. I have 22 pages of proof of that. Shame on me.
Onwards and upwards as it goes.

Thanks Debs for sharing. We sometimes get in such a rush to get a job done, we miss the fine tuning. Your post will serve to remind me to make sure all is in order before moving on.

Thank you for sharing. My theme said it was mobile ready. Not far enough along to understand if I need to do more when setting up my website. I'm sure I will be calling on your experience with this.

Hi Deb, oh crap, you mean I have to set up my web posts for mobile too? I have a hard enough time using my laptop.

I hate my android, it would be so much easier for me just to have my old flip phone. I guess I have to learn from all you young'uns.

Thanks for great post and I wish you all the best.

Donnie lol Google is going to rank the pages that are Google friendly first. They use Android. I have had emails etc. Most people today are all smartphone users so if our pages are not mobile friendly then we will lack in the index part.

Don't worry its just this one site I have that won't be accepted. The rest got through via flying colours this one ain't happening. Hence my work has to continue lol 22 pages of shoddy work.

Yours will probably be fine and I work from PC. too. My site actually showed up amazing even on my very old android but come to click the links they weren't happening.
Yep, and I welcome the days back to the old flip phone too lad. Oh, how life was easier way back then. I get you.

I'm at a stand still at the moment. I had to contact the theme designer to get the menu to work right. Waiting 3-5 days for a response.

The website runs straight down the page. Tried to use navigation widget and customize it. Nothing will work.

I feel your pain, believe me.
I'll get there soon enough though.

Thank you.

I always find myself going back to the basics on everything I do I guess its my way of making sure that I have taken out the garbage and in return letting the good stuff in. I know I have just started but I must say I have learned a lot. I suffer from OCD and I need things to be absolutely perfect. The bad side is I find myself picking on myself and this is when I have to take a step back and realize the purpose in why I do what I do and with that I always seem to get those wonderful feelings back when I first started doing whatever it is that am doing at that point of time. Point being stop being so rough on yourself am sure that your fully capable of knocking it out of the park.

I wish you great wealth,

Phil

Phil,
For the first time maybe that OCD is good.
Pick on everything you see. Challenge yourself and whatever you do make it better if you don't. Then like me, you will have to backtrack.

I think anyone here who has OCD will become the perfect blogger hard work I know but still what you put out will be pristine and super clean to the max.

A pleasure to meet you Phil and thank you so much for passing by.

A good lesson for all of us to remember. What I do now is go over a checklist after publishing every post to make sure that I remember all the little stuff you have to do to get it finalized. That has helped me a lot.

Good luck going forward. You'll get it sorted.

Hi,
Yes, certainly multitasking is not my best thing. I am paying the price for shoddy work. Wished I didn't have to but I need to now.

22 posts all in all and to think I could spend my time doing new posts. We live and learn.

I needed to share this because it's needed from us on all parts. Hope I help others not to make the same mistakes.
