The pursuit of Artificial Intelligence (Ai) is a multi billion dollar industry. With almost no regulations!
Today, a new generation of self-learning computers is reshaping every aspect of our lives. Incomprehensible amounts of data are being collected, interpreted, and fed back to us in a tsunami of apps, smart devices, and targeted advertisements.
Virtually every industry on earth is feeling this transformation, from job automation to medical diagnostics, from elections to whole lot of other things that are happening in our world today.
Are we been blind sided. Our pocket devices Mobiles Cells are aided by algorithms (meaning a process or set of rules to be followed in calculations or problem-solving mainly used by computers.) Algorithms we don't understand. We even talk to our Phones/cells. Siri, Cotana, Alexa, Downloading apps that collect our data.
As an example. Google uses Ai ask Google a question and Google has the answer. Start writing a sentence and google now can finish that sentence that's Ai. Most people think of Google as a search engine or an email provider. Now there is the google phone that has google emojis.
Google infact are one of the biggest companies in the world. They are buying up Ai companies and robotics companies. Think about it behind that search bar in google are 10 million servers. That makes Google the most powerful computing platform in the world. They are working on a new Ai platform that will have 100 million servers.
What we see of Google is actually just a tiny thumb nail of a giant beast in the making. Every thing we type into the search engine we make it more powerful. Ai is a field of research. To which there are no limits.
For example Some companies have built muti billion dollars on giving us free stuff the likes of facebook for example. They extract something from us in exchange. Our Data our Carbon footprint for example. So that becomes the obvious question how much should we trust our Machines. We are constantly been negotiated.
For instance reserving hotel rooms getting Flights. Shopping at Amazon uses our data to see if a person is willing to pay 2 cents more than the last person.
They can take anybodys footprint for example just by having a spotify playlist, again what we buy on Amazon They use algorythims to translate this into Data. We have created Technology that can collect vast amounts of data.
Here are a few examples of how we collect Data.
Tweets, FB emojis, Gps, Banking, Finger Prints, Eye Recognition, Face Recognition, this is all used as data. Back in 2012 IBM believed we all left about 500mb of digital footprints every day. The more data we give out the more intelligent Ai becomes. So imagine the data we give out today. That data is collected everywhere not just Google and facebook. I mean litrally every where.
That leads to Super Computers and can we trust them. Neuro Net.
These computers work similar to our brains.
Our brains have Neurons that connect to thousands of other neurons. Like when a toddler is learning when the child succeeds he/she is rewarded. The pathway that created that success strenghtens. The pathway that fails is weakened. So over time our brains get honed in on our surroundings. Similar to how a computer works today.
Deep learning are about computers learning themselves and they are learning. Within the next 3 to 5 years computers will understand not unlike the way a human mind works.
Ai for an example may take its time to wrap its tentacles around a skill but when it succeeds it just grows stronger.
As an example we all know computers can beat board games but the question was asked can it beat the likes of a Poker Player.
Poker is an art in itself. Poker players win by Reading people's minds using skills like lying or bluffing. Surely a computer couldnt beat a poker player. They took a selection of the best poker players in the world never thinking that Ai could ever beat them. It took just 7 days for the computer to start winning. Give Ai a goal and it will relentlessly persue that goal.
OUR JOBS OUR CAREERS, ARE THEY SAFE?
Are they in Jeapordy? Yes they are! For an example. In the US alone there are over 4 million drivers the likes of Truck drivers uber even. That in turn has 7 million people in jobs doing data entry they will be out of a job.
IBM's Watson does Business Analytics. A business Analysist used to be paid $300 an hour by one certain company. He too now has no job.
Imagine you plan a 40 year career in Radiology just reading Xrays. That too could now become a challenge. Is that Career safe ???
See we go to college or university for years to study to be a Doctor, Journalist, an accountant.
It's unclear wether there will be any jobs for the future. If there are they will be far and few between. So where does the job loss come in.
Robots In our Industrys.
Baxter for example he is the latest Robot. He can do almost anything we can do with our hands.
Baxter is now taking the place of many jobs in most industrys from packing boxes to making cars.
See Baxter costs about; what a minmum wage earner gets in a year in the Us. Baxter wont just take the place of that one worker he will take the place of three. Why because Baxter never gets tired he never takes breaks and he doesnt need time off. So he is quicker cheaper and faster.
Even our hospitals are using robots. These robots continually learn they track their own movements continually learning. Making less mistakes they will be doing this on their own with or without human supervision not to far off in the future. That's just the start of it.
That means we are having to run faster to keep ahead of the computers and robots.
See all the data and the algorythims we input. We give Ai a goal and Ai will relentlessly persue that goal.
Ai is the background of the news feeds in Facebook another thing that is a big Elephant in the room but I won't go into that one now.
Conclusion.
The conclusion of all this you are probably woundering what I am going on about. Well I stumbled across all of this while looking for another article to write about for my Website.
It acually works out that more and more People are looking into Affiliate Marketing as a job. More and more people in 2018 are showing more of an interest in Affiliate Marketing than ever before.
Why because they want a better future!
People want to earn a living and not be in the unemployed Category like so many are today. Sounds crazy but its the truth thats why I gave you some of the info on robots and Ai as an insight to help you better understand why we are or will be out of work before long.
Like I mentioned above planning a career in Radiology that should keep you employed for the next 40 years at least, Will it be there.! Will it even be available.! With the drudges of todays life. I shouldn't think so.
People are turning to Affiliate marketing as a securer job.
That's why I am proud to be with Wealthy Affiliate.
I know I am going in the right direction. I know the Wealthy Affiliate platform works. I want to better my life and my family's life. Even if it take's time to become a success. If, you dont try it and stick at it you will never know how good Affiliate Marketing can really be.
Anyway's I do like my laptop Lifestyle too!

Even though they can't be trusted, I do think by 2025 the robot will habe taken outside jobs.

You cannot trust robots and computers because they are made by people. People are not perfect. Though they try to make things perfect and helpful, they don't succeed because of their imperfections, like Mr. Zuckerberg.

I kind of always feel for that sort of person because I always feel when they are hanging one person out to dry in the public what else are they hiding too.

A self-sustaining world will mean humans no longer need to work the physical jobs that once demanded so much energy and effort. The tradeoff is to strengthen our minds to get capable of being paired with computer chips.
This will open the door up for space exploration, underwater colonies, and there will be a massive need for creative minds. Coming up with even more useful ideas In order to get the resources needed from space and continue building the machines.
I find it fascinating and exciting to be around to see if computer AI can get far enough ahead of us that it teaches us superpowers. There are many people that work with intuition and the senses which amount to equipping a human with the right tools.
It's bad news for anyone who believes in one true religion because it will prove there is only one power out there and it's the Universe.

nice post Debs. much to think about. lats month they tested a robot that was flipping burgers. yup a people-less McD's in the future and don;t forget the autonomous cars being tested.
We're becoming obsolete.... :)

I'm glad you went on and on this is important. So many major department stores have shut down in Canada because they can't compete with online shopping!
Where I live, we are in the top 15 hardest hit from the economic downturn in Canada. It's so bad here, most jobs are only part time,
and many are on unemployment benefits or welfare.
I left for 14yrs and came back home for family to this. It's why I discovered places like WA to have a chance at a career that will be full time. Hopefully.
My 3 year old Granddaughter won't experience shopping in stores like we do, but will have to shop online and it's sad.

I am happy you liked my post but it is something that is happening today. Same here in the UK many stores are failing.
It is going to get worse and that just a tiny bit of what I have been reading.
It totally make sense now to have a back up plan.
Thats why I too went online looking for something better.
I just feel for the students of today as well. Imagine studying for years only to realise when you come out of university you don't even have a job.
It's happening and it is not going to get better. Sad but thank fully we are here right now in the best moment I would think of Affiliate marketing.

I think that's what hurts me more too. I often hear of students that have done all there grades and haven't been able to get a job.
They actually work in something entirely different.
Seem such a shame after years of study and the debts they collect on the way.

Our personal data is no longer private and is being sold to companies 1000's of times over to be fed into computers

sorry the post is long. I wanted to write a lot more but it just wouldn't be possible here.
Its true and algorithms are every where. The thing is we dont really worry when we download apps for instance they give us a long list of what they want from us.
like our camera our emails and locations. etc and we do it without a thought.
The thing is today everybody now is using computers phones etc. It's a part of who we are.
Yes and so true we have to deal whats thrown at us. I can honestly say us humans are quite good at adapting.

Great post. This is a radical question, Debs. Will robots take our jobs? Some jobs will become obsolete, but new position will be created that humans will fill, such as logistics in maintaining the robots.
I wrote a question related to this awhile back,you might want to read some of the answers and/or "chime in" Are you scared artificial intelligence will replace humans? Scary stuff!
How crazy this may seem, but I should think further in the future these Robots may well learn to fix themselves.
That is just a thought may I add.

Having been in higher education for many years, I have observed how we teach students skills that will be obsolete by the time they leave college. The focus, in my view, ought to be on training our young to be innovative, solving problems. That way, we can become an interface between machines and making a living.
In Affiliate Marketing, I am a learner all over again. The difference is, it is enjoyable at WA, thanks to the supportive environment. Yet in the end there will be a difference in the quality of our lives, provided we stay the course and do the work.
