Clickbank is not especially clear about just WHERE (1) to place the affiliate code into it's sales links. I know to get credit, and thus commissions, part of the sales links m

I did figure it out. The first link listed, (in black) is to post an ad anywhere you can find space. The second link listed, (in blue) is for your website. If you click on the ad and follow all the way to the cart, you can see your affiliate ID there at bottom, which means you will get credit for that sale. Not bruised for trying.
Customization of links is done with a software program, and product reps who have good affiliate support pages often provide you the software to customize your links on the spot!! No real need to download software, but go for it if you want.

Now this represents a much more complete answer to my original question, class;) PLUS: Answer found at the source of confusion, the Clickbank Site. (where to find the info yourself, is an added bonus)

I love this site!
Especially when not getting punished for not having premium. (ummmm, I mean the dark days when I can not reply, post, nor ask questions-feels like punishment for being so broke.)

Just gonna go do the next lesson. Fly by the seat of my pants, got me this far. Wrapping up the training, hopefully today. Wanna be up and running before the first, to have a shot at a payday sometime soon.

I was able to post links that took people to sale pages on my facebook page. I tested them out, before motoring along. Did not have my ID in them, so they would have not paid, anyway. But then the second I loaded another internet page, those links stopped working, as facebook required me to be there minding the store with regular hours. Truth is, I was not ready for that. My thinking was to finish my postings, make sure it all worked, then "go to work" for a few hours daily. NOPE. So, now my thinking is EVERYTHING HAS TO BE DONE CORRECTLY AND INSTANTLY WORKING CORRECTLY. Not the best laid plans. But I am trying to do this thing right, although I am not a geek, and have never done anything like this before. Instruct with caution to these two last facts, huh? Wow, and my time is up to ask questions. So, really, I am on my own, after-all?

Hey Deborah,

You may be taking the lessons alone, but here at WA you are no more alone than you want to be. You have an entire community here, ready to help you with any issue you may be faced with. We may not be available to answer question(s) immediately, but we WILL give you an answer.

Looks like you got your answer below.

Ummm, Colin? Read both my question and the response, now, do you think my question(s) were answered? There were two questions, neither was how to place the pretty blue button at the bottom of the page, nor how to edit that HTML.

Not how I saw today going.

Clickbank gives you Two links to put on your website. One is Copy the following HopLink HTML code and add it to your web page: This is the one that you put in the TEXT where ever you want the link to show on your webpage. This is going to show as a blue Click Here! link. If you want it to show as a different text just change it to what you want before publishing your page. EX For more about this click here! For more details PM me

Glad to help!

Keisi.

Changing hoplink text from click here to press the pretty button, was not part of my question. May be useful in the future? I am aware there are TWO links provided, one is HTML (whatever that means) Link one is, what? An ad for product?? While link 2 is the go to sales page button?? Insert my ID into link 1 or 2? And would you use the "big blue button" at end of page, only for one product per page? Must be clear on what the links are, their proper use, how to use them, and how to properly change them.

I do know I must change the links (or link??) to get proper paid credit. I also know that changing a link, can cause it to no longer work.

And I am wishing there was a handy guide book written for the terminally unnerdy.

What a mess!
