Affiliate Analogy Continues….

L is for Llama

I thought I’d have a little fun with today’s post and talk about Llamas. I know many of the members in the WA community are animal lovers, myself included. But, I bet you never associated Llamas with your experience here…..until now!

Researching Llamas was very enlightening, although if I didn’t need an “L” word I probably never would have initiated such a search! That being said, did you know…..
  • Llamas are very resilient. Having originated in North America over 40 million years ago, they migrated to South America and Asia around 3 million years ago. This was before the American and Asian continents separated at Alaska. Having survived the Ice Age, (although they were thought to be extinct) today Llamas are found in the Andes mountain region.
  • Llamas have many uses. Llamas are kept as pack animals and have many uses. It is a source of food, wool, hides, tallows for candles, and dried dung for fuel. I don’t know of any restaurant that serves Llama meat and I can’t image it would be a great crowd pleaser!
  • Llamas have evolved. The Llama is thought to have evolved from the camel and has many similarities. The main differences are that Llamas do not have the hump on its back, nor does it retain water like the camel. Llamas are slender-bodied animals and have long legs and necks, short tails, small heads, and large, pointed ears. Without the hump, they are really kind of cute.
  • Llamas are social. They are social creatures that enjoy being with others in a herd. They are also an intelligent breed as they can learn new tasks with only a few repetitions.

(Source: https://a-z-animals.com/animals/llama/) YouTube also has some funny videos about Llamas.

All humor aside (as feeble attempt as it was), the comparison to Wealthy Affiliate is serious.

  • WA is very resilient. Kyle and Carson started the platform in September of 2005. The internet was a very different place twelve years ago. As Kyle as stated, building a website required learning and writing your own code. However, through all the changes and growth of building an online business, WA has endured. Extinction wasn’t an option.
  • WA has many uses. I believe its main use is as a University. Training is the core focus, weather it is through the Certification Courses, Bootcamp training, Jay’s live video trainings, or the member’s training posts. In addition to the training, we can use WA to purchase domain names. The prices are reasonable and more stable than other sites. We can also use WA to find our keywords. Now that Jaaxy is part of the Premium membership, we never have to leave the platform. One of the more important uses I find is for motivation and inspiration. Having members share their knowledge and success is priceless
  • WA has evolved. Changes are part of the norm at WA. I think we have one of the most up-to-date, comprehension platforms on the Internet. Just since I’ve been a member, which is just a year now, there have been some upgrades. SiteContent and Jaaxy becoming part of the Premium membership are two major changes. Another interesting change has been the formation of mentor groups, which Kyle is also creating. I see them as a more accelerated, focus intense path for those that are interested
  • WA is sociable. What would WA be without the community? The social aspect is such an addicting, yet vital, part of the program. The interaction is fun, educational, and supportive. We all claim not to be concerned with our rank, but if you are like me, it’s the first thing I check. It’s a fun way to measure our involvement within the platform.

All Llama comparisons aside, Wealthy Affiliate has all the characteristics to support our path to success.

Haha... I was wondering where the spitting was going to come in? Great thing you kept that characteristic trait out of this post.
I did not know any of these facts about Llamas. Fascinating stuff. Thanks for the interesting lesson.
And again, excellent points about Wealthy Affiliate. Hear, hear.

I thought I'd keep it clean.....thanks for reading, Lauren.

Llamas are being introduced to North America Debbie. There's a huge ranch of them at Bend, Oregon!
