Affiliate Analogy - I is for Ivy
Affiliate Analogy Continues….
I is for Ivy
The first home I purchased as an adult had Ivy for a front lawn. Its rich, dark green leaves made an attractive cover for the barren soil underneath. It was so pretty to look at, and being that it was a climbing plant, it covered all the tree trunks too. It was such a sturdy plant; the roots firmly planted. But it was thick too, with layers of leaves. The items I found buried in the dense growth often surprised me. The only maintenance required was cutting it back every couple of months. It could easily get out of hand.
Wealthy Affiliate is a lot like Ivy. (surprise, surprise) It has a sturdy root system. In fact, it just keeps growing, becoming denser with information and support for all of us. Therefore, I want to remind us all to dig deep. Don’t just enjoy the pretty surface because there is so much to this platform. It is easy to sign up, get started in the certification classes, and just plant yourself there. It is also just as easy to sign up and delay the training by getting sidetracked by the social aspect of the program. I know from personal experience, reading and commenting on other member’s WA blogs can be fun, but addicting.
So this is a reminder to search deep and participate in all WA has to offer. Get to know the home page; explore and participate in all the offshoots of the platform. Just check out this menu.
The Activity Dashboard really keeps us up to date on the daily postings of everyone. Jump in and leave a comment. Have you ever joined the live chats? It is a great learning opportunity. Of course, there are the two training programs…. certification courses and Bootcamp. SiteRubix and Jaaxy give us all the tools we need to create our sites and write great content. Explore everything within SiteRubix, especially the new SiteContent feature. At the top of the activity page, you’ll find additional information.
One word of caution though, just like the Ivy plant, our activity on WA can easily get out of hand. So spend your time wisely. Trim back the unnecessary activity and focus on the tasks that will build your business. Review all your followers and delete the ones that are no longer active or no longer speak to your needs.
The WA platform is rich and deep and needs your attention. So become very familiar with it and be engaged with all that it has to offer.

Ivey is tenacious when it gets a toehold, it won't let go and even when you think it is gone turn your back for 5 minutes and it will be there smiling at you when you turn around.
Much like the training and resources here at WA they won't let us down, I am a WA miner if we drill down there is just so much information around every corner, never ceases to amaze me learn something new every day.
Agreed...I still think the best part of WA is the people....such as yourself! Thanks for reading.
Debbie that is a brilliant analogy of WA.
I want a front lawn of Ivy. I love it but have never seen it covering a whole lawn.
My home is new and modern but I do admire homes where ivy grows up the walls of the house.
New goal for spring... plant ivy everywhere but be prepared to trim back.
With Grace and Gratitude

A simple yet powerful analogy. I especially like the part about how we need to rim back on those activities that may be hindering our progress.
Thanks, Veronica!
