my website, which is very much an infant, is 7th on Bing under 'how to choose a new camera' Is this average, not to be sneezed at or pure luck?

Is a 7th place listing on bing any indicator?

I've put a basic page together, but I'm not sure if I have the keyword concept right in my head yet.
my website is: http://howtochooseanewcamera.com/
and the newest page is
The page is very clear black and white, text size is consistent and readable. I think the 'camera body options' some questions can turn to answers and turn to answers. For example, what do I want my new camera to do and what pictures should I take with the camera. These can be finished off with some start of young content, not a whole lot yet. But such answers are like technical answers, for example, film vs digital, black and white vs color, bolex vs digital camcorder, flash on vs flash off, etc. Answer and continue however you like. Good luck, and loved your site so far

Thank you for such a detailed answer. I am planning a F.A.Q. page to link back to this one and on to link to other more specidic detail pages. Do yoy think this is a good way to go?
Yes, dd1954, linking to other more specific detail pages is good idea. Good luck

Hi dd1954! I like your first page. Made me think about my growing heap of old cameras and it occurred to me that I might like a newer one myself. I'll have to keep up with your site development.
Thank you!
If you ever have any questions on the topics I cover, or don't for that matter, please ask. I will be making a faq page soon, so any material will be useful

I am not understanding the how/why of the Jaaxy search tool, am down to 12 free searches with nothing to show, and cannot afford the upgrade at present. I am lost
We need a bit more information to help you. What niche are you dealing with? Do you have a particular idea in mind to write about (either for a page or post)?
If you don't know what to write about, then you are generally looking for keywords that relate to your niche topic. They should have QSR of 300 or less (less than 100 is ideal) and monthly searches of at least 50. Keywords with 3 or more words are better because they are more specific.
Don't use any more of your searches until you get some help. Very likely you have some potential keywords already and just don't realize it.
my website is http://howtochooseanewcamera.com/
I'm even beginning to wonder if my niche is too broad/narrow overcooked etc. In other words I guess I'm doubting myself!
So sorry I left you hanging. The past couple weeks have been crazy.
Your niche doesn't sound too broad, though you do have a lot of room to work in with the headers of manufacturers, lens types, body options, etc.
Under lens types you could develop a post around each of several types of lenses, just to explain them a bit more and provide pros and cons. Keywords could include "aerial photography equipment", "landscape photography lens", and "macro photography lens".
Since you know about cameras, think a bit more about different ways to phrase keywords in these areas. Use the WA Keyword tool to check on the keywords rather than wasting your remaining searches in Jaaxy.
Regarding manufacturers, how about a post for each major manufacturer. Give their background, what they are best known for, how they got started, etc.
Once you have some general info posts, then you can tie them into product reviews as Kyle teaches. Write your reviews once you have joined a few affiliate programs.
Hope these thoughts might help stimulate you a bit.

I've set it initially as my 'about me' page, but wish to change that and can't remember how, and cant find where to do it?
Hi!
Go to Settings >>> Reading and choose a different "static" frontpage from the dropdown menu (could be any of your pages).
You can also read through this here: Creating a Static Homepage Using Wordpress Cheers, Kay ;o)
