That line was originally used in the motion picture, The Treasure of the Siera Madre. You can also hear it said in an episode of The Monkees and the movie, Blazing Saddles. There may be other times too that I am not aware of.
My badges
I have been in the exhibits business for many years and have worked at and attended several trade shows during my career. At each show I receive a badge allowing me to enter the show area as either an attendee or as an exhibitor. Most of my shows have been as an exhibitor. Here are some of the badges I have collected over the years.
The trade show industry has been hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic with many shows being cancelled or postponed until 2021.
Good News!
Just recently (July 24) at show (Together Again Expo) was produced in Orlando (a pandemic "hot spot") by the professionals in the industry with one purpose, to show others how a show can be held safely with masks and social distancing (and other measures).
I wish I could have attended this event, but I was unable to.
Many professionals have stated that the trade show business will return soon and once again convention centers in the USA and internationally will be filled with booths rather than beds. I share this belief and look forward to more BADGES.

That's a lot of badges Dave. Lovely to have the reminder of all the events though. Hope they are soon back up and running for you.
Yes, I am reminded of shows that I did in Japan, China, South Korea, France, and the US. Can't wait to get back to a show in either Chicago, Las Vegas, or Orlando (my favorites venues).

Badges, as soon as I saw that title that's what popped in my mind, that line from the movies. You just might be the champion WA member of badges, I went to a few shows but I never saved the badges, the best being the electronics show in Chicago, it was just plain enormous. It took up McCormick Place and a few hotels. I sure hope the convention business comes back, it creates tremendous side business in every city where held.

I used to have the audio clip on my phone and would play it from time to time to the amusement of my team. The electronics show is now in Las Vegas and huge. It was just announced that the show will be all digital for 2021 (January). It is true that the economic impact of a trade show goes beyond those directly associated with the production of the event.
