Success Requires Patience

Have you ever fixed the Rubis Cube? Well unless you are among the geniuses who seem to be able to do it in under a minute you will need to be patient.

Hi WAFamily. Today I was looking at a Dhar Mann video. The message was Success Takes Patience and Great Things Take Time.

The message in that resonated with me because of this business I have undertaken.

More and more I am learning this simple lesson. Not only that but I have really slowed down the way I do lessons since the year started as I try to patiently master some aspects of this business.

Take Social Media Marketing for instance. In spite of the fact that I am in the IT field and love gadgets, I really have never embraced social media.

On a personal level I have only actively used one and tend to visit a few times per month, It is not unusual for an entire month to go by without me even visiting any.

However now I have an online business and I have promised myself to scale social media marketing.

I Don't Expect to do it well overnight so I decided to start with one. Pinterest.

Successfully Scaling Pinterest

Since I love to learn I decided to apply myself to it like everything else where schooling was required.

Until recently I thought I simply needed to set up my pinterest account and begin to pin daily.

Do you fall into the same bracket?

Due to some member's posts that indicated that there was more to it, I added mastering Pinterest to this month's calendar.

I got a late start on it but last weekend I watched five videos and took careful notes then set tasks.

i have a new business account on Pinterest now with my business name and I'm using Canva to create new pins.

I learned that lesson here too, thanks to Cassi's post. (Sorry I wanted to link to it but couldn't find the one I was looking for).

A few new things on my list for the new week

Here are a few things on my list for the rest of the week:

  • Join a few group boards,
  • grow my network and
  • practice the 70/30 rule of pinning. For those of you who don't know what the 70/30 rule is all about it says that only 70% of the pins you use should be yours. Re-pin other people's content and they will do the same with yours.
  • I will also check out a few great pins to understand a bit more about what works and what doesn't. Look at more YouTube Videos about scaling Pinterest.
  • Write, Learn, Research.

My Message For All Of Us

I want to encourage all of us, this race is not for the swift.

Most Businesses fail in the first five years. If you wish to be among the successful few, dedicate yourself to learning your lessons well, make your business a priority.

Become the expert not only at your niche but:

  • Every facet of online marketing that relates to your business,
  • WordPress
  • The different type of software you need
  • and everything else in between

There is no point in doing it unless you plan to be an expert at it.

Try not to become overwhelmed by the volume of information available to you. Take it in bite size portions.

Success awaits those who have what it takes for the journey.

I am on the success train and I need some company for the journey.

Still a total newbie on the social media stuff but I have started so hopefully things pan out. And therein is where you are right, patience is required, no rushing on my part. One step at a time.

On this train, I am totally journeying with you - To Success 👍

Hi Chris, welcome aboard. No looking back. It's a one way ticket.

I'm definitely on the train there with you Candy. Just give me a minute to board the Pintrest Cart ... lol. I'm still working my way towards getting a grasp of that.

All in all I agree with your post. Success takes patience, practice persistence and people - people who can provide the support and advice you need along the way.

There's joy in the journey to success. A lot of valuable lessons are learned along the way.

Thanks for sharing!

Roberta

I like that Roberta. Quite often when we talk about what it takes to succeed the people helping us along the road is more a footnote than anything else but they are in a lot of ways the most important part.

Everything begun with the people.

The people who answer questions and document their journey, the people who visit our sites. The people who encourage us.

Where would we be without all the wonderful people who make this journey possible?

Welcome aboard the success train Roberta. It's a one way trip so buckle up.
