I'm looking for a good plugin to use to include recipes in my site. From what I can see, there are a few really good ones. I think one of the issues is if/how/where you want your visitor to be able to print the recipe and if you want to include nutritional information. Some of the plugins give you a lot of flexibility there.

Lucky many good suggestions here.

I use the plugin ZipRecipes. I have only used 2 non original recipes and I gave credit and link to the original.

Thank you!

Excuse me, what do you consider by - to give credit...?

Simply to let others know that it's not my original recipe, but was created or derived from another site and I adapted it to fit my site, needs, or preferences. To give them credit by linking to the original site so my visitors can see the original recipe and the owner of the original recipe will get traffic if they do, therefore a win-win for both parties.

Exactly. I say something like..."this delicious recipe created by xxx at website link is a favourite because....". I ensure that the person who claimed they created it is clearly credited for the recipe.

Thank you very much for the explanation, but do I need to inform the owner of the other site personally that I will borrow his or her recipes?

Interesting question. I have a friend at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. I will ask him about copyright issues with recipes.

Hi, DB.
What is ADHD?
I might be able to help out with some recipes.
I am a former professional Chef of almost fourty years,
My foundation is Classical French and I have rubbed elbows with the likes of Paul Bocuse.

Kindest regards,

Paul.

ADHD is Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder. Many people choose to medicate with a variety of medicines, but others choose to control thru their diet (it really depends on severity and co-morbid conditions that tend to come along with ADHD). Some will medicate and improve their diet. Those that choose to control thru diet will eliminate all artificial additives such as dyes and preservatives, eliminate high fructose corn syrup and sugar, nitrates/nitrites and also choose a high protein diet. Some will take out dairy and/or gluten...it just depends on the trigger for an individual. Basically a whole food, clean diet.

Would love any recipes you're willing to offer...and of course all credit will go to you and/or your site.

Thanks so much!!

I think she's referring to Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder??

Wow. awesome response.

Should we start with Flour and Water?

Paul.

Thank you Al1.

Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a mental disorder of the neurodevelopmental type.[7][8] It is characterized by problems paying attention, excessive activity, or difficulty controlling behavior which is not appropriate for a person's age.[1][2] The symptoms appear before a person is twelve years old, are present for more than six months, and cause problems in at least two settings (such as school, home, or recreational activities).[3][9] In children, problems paying attention may result in poor school performance.[1] Although it causes impairment, particularly in modern society, many children with ADHD have a good attention span for tasks they find interesting.[10]

Despite being the most commonly studied and diagnosed mental disorder in children and adolescents, the exact cause is unknown in the majority of cases.[4] It affects about 5–7% of children when diagnosed via the DSM-IV criteria[11][2] and 1–2% when diagnosed via the ICD-10 criteria.[12] As of 2015 it is estimated to affect about 51.1 million people.[6] Rates are similar between countries and depend mostly on how it is diagnosed.[13] ADHD is diagnosed approximately three times more often in boys than in girls, although the disorder is often overlooked in girls due to their symptoms differing from those of boys.[14][15][16] About 30–50% of people diagnosed in childhood continue to have symptoms into adulthood and between 2–5% of adults have the condition.[17][18][19] The condition can be difficult to tell apart from other disorders, as well as to distinguish from high levels of activity that are still within the normal-range.[9]

ADHD management recommendations vary by country and usually involve some combination of counseling, lifestyle changes, and medications.[1] The British guideline only recommends medications as a first-line treatment in children who have severe symptoms and for medication to be considered in those with moderate symptoms who either refuse or fail to improve with counseling, though for adults medications are a first-line treatment.[20] Canadian and American guidelines recommend that medications and behavioral therapy be used together as a first-line therapy, except in preschool-aged children.[21][22] Stimulant medication therapy is not recommended as a first-line therapy in preschool-aged children in either guideline.[20][22] Treatment with stimulants is effective for up to 14 months; however, its long term effectiveness is unclear.[23][24][25][26] Adolescents and adults tend to develop coping skills which make up for some or all of their impairments.[27]

The medical literature has described symptoms similar to ADHD since the 19th century.[28] ADHD, its diagnosis, and its treatment have been considered controversial since the 1970s.[29] The controversies have involved clinicians, teachers, policymakers, parents, and the media. Topics include ADHD's causes and the use of stimulant medications in its treatment.[30] Most healthcare providers accept ADHD as a genuine disorder in children and adults, and the debate in the scientific community mainly centers on how it is diagnosed and treated.[31][32][33] The condition was officially known as attention deficit disorder (ADD) from 1980 to 1987 while before this it was known as hyperkinetic reaction of childhood.[34][35]

Yap, PMindra thank you for this update.Got slow signal here em in the remote areas now. As ND I also used food to address the problem or at least lessen the severity.

Hey sunshine...what part of the world are you in?

Kindest always...Paul.

I know, very limited. :(

I post recipes to my website. I use both a plugin (WP recipe maker) and a recipe service (Kulinarian) to embed the recipe.

I give credit, generally, by modifying a recipe for my use. And the indicate in the recipe notes that the recipe is adapted from so and so at http://xyz.com.

This should not be a problem because the recipes get pinned on Pinterest which in turn gives the originator more traffic.

I usually use my smart phone or ipad to take pictures of dishes I make. Not fancy, but readers know they aren't fake.

Excellent advice! I can handle a pic from my phone and/or iPad...I can handle that. Do you ever contact the owner of the original recipe to notify or ask permission? Thank you so much.

You are welcome! :)

I have never contacted a recipe owner. To date, I have not had a need to do so since I don't sell recipes or recipe books.

Im not sure what the rules are now but I posted a couple of recipes in the past and read that it is acceptable to say recipe adapted from and put whatever cookbook it came from. You could look for a picture of the food on Pixabay or another site with free pictures. You may also be able to write your own directions and even rename the recipe. Example: Hearty Seafood Bisque might become Shrimp and. Crabmeat Stew. Zesty Lemon Bars Could become Luscious Lemon Squares If you make up a name for the recipe and rewrite the directions then maybe it is your own recipe. But I would Google what the llega ramifications arento be safe.

Great advice! Thanks so much!!

No problem...but just remember to not do anything you might get in an trouble for!

Absolutely!

Here you go Ranae. Plenty to choose from! http://www.lifescript.com/health/centers/adhd/recipes.aspx

You want to do this with Easy Digital Downloader or WooCommerce for the digital products.

Hey Ranae,

Here's how I solved this issue on my sites: https://useyourpassion.com/why-use-a-quality-wordpress-theme

Thank you! I think I may be stuck with the free theme I've got. I'll be more selective on the next site. Thanks again!

Use this theme, being free, as your Guinea Pig to experiment on...once you learn the ropes, then choose a better site :)

At least you understand now that free themes need more plugins and that is why most of the themes that are free are there to choose from.

It's not the number of plugins but how much load each adds to your site. I recommend you install yet another one, called P3 which will analyse all of them and reveal which are the resource hogs.

Great! Will do! Thanks for the info!

Still having issues with no resolution from all parties, it's been 3 weeks and the error message is Invalid Signature when connecting the Printful and WooCommerce. I looked it up and I am confused as to how to fix it. Code is not my thing and wish there was someone I can actually speak with. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Contact Site Support and see if they can help.

Hi Elizabeth, let us know if it's ok now. Thx

All good because of DBSpinz. She told me in one message what WA Support, WooCommerce and Printful could not for the past 3 weeks.

OK, thanks for the update.

Have the same issue and no resolution and a lot of back and forth. Hope to have it resolved soon. I will check back for any updates

I got it to work. I sent the sync error message to site support and they did a tweak and now it works. They also had to increase my WP Memory max under WooCommerce/status, not sure if that was a factor or not, or a combination of issues. Keep working thru the back and forth...it will work! Best of luck to you!!

Again thank you for your message and for helping

Hey there. Having the same issue. Was wondering when you say "Site Support" is that WA or Printful? Or someone else? Need help.

Thx Deb

Actually it was for both. However, I received this from another member on here and it worked. Please let me know if it worked for you. Thanks

Hey Elizabeth, I went back and forth with WA Site support and Printful's support. I don't think I was getting the same error message as you seem to be. I'm assuming you followed all the directions from the connecting to WooCommerce video on Printful' site? Did you set your website to secure using the SSL certificate under Site Manager? And did you use the https:// setting instead of http:// when integrating?? Next, look under "status" under WooCommerce on your site and see if there are any warnings in red...mine suggested upgrading WP speed to 64 Mb from 40 Mb, and upgrading SQL to newer version, but I believe that was after I integrated the two platforms and had trouble syncing products. Feel free to tell site support to review my settings to compare to yours....it was a long battle and they should remember me.

Hi Elizabeth,

I'm also having issues with this... kept getting the "Invalid Signature" message when I got to Printful webpage after approving the connection..

Are you using your own domain? I believe if we're using the free siterubix subdomain, we can't enable SSL...

SiteSupport is looking at the issue now..

woo commerce i hear it a lot but do not know what it is

WooCommerce is a way to make your site a store. It's a plug in to add a shopping cart and products to your site.

Printful is a dropship supplier of custom tshirts and other printable gifts such as coffee mugs, beach towels, posters, etc. It allows the user to design a product, sync them directly to your site, and then Printful will fulfill the orders directly from their factory. There is no inventory to keep on hand, shipping to worry with. Seems very useful and efficient if I can get it to work.

yes thank you very much

Hi, thanks for asking.
So now. I can find out what 'Woo Commerce Store' is and how to sync 'Printful' products to it.

Totally new concept to me, but I'm sure someone here can assist.

Kindest regards,

Paul.

Cheers.
Thanks for the like.
