Why I Joined Wealthy Affiliate

Three months ago I was struggling financially when my daughter couldn't come up with her half of the rent and utilities. They had to be paid, so I used the credit card that I had in reserve for emergencies.

The next month she was two weeks late paying her share and again, I used the credit card. I was so worried about expenses that I got another credit card to use at Target because they have groceries there.

I was looking online every night to try to find a 2nd job. Anything clerical or word processing, even data entry. I would even take an overnight shift since my full-time job doesn't start until 1 p.m.

I found an online job for AmeriPlan that entailed calling people to sell medical discount plans. It wasn't even insurance, and there were few physicians in their network willing to use the discount card.

Then I saw a comparison chart that compared AmeriPlan to Wealthy Affiliate. The more I read, the more sense it made to me. They would train me to create and grow my own online marketing business. And it was free to start.

I clicked on the WA logo and started looking around and started the free training. "Oh, this is good," I said. I love learning new things. I have a Master's Degree in Adult Education and I was very impressed with their step-by-step instructions.

In a month I quickly rose from the rank of 11,000 to 231 today. I participated in the community and the lessons, and even answered an easy question here and there. I welcomed new members and encouraged them along the way, following them.

I can honestly say that I have found a new direction and a new purpose for my life. Kyle and Carson have created an almost self-sustaining community here. I'm always uplifted and/or educated by reading the many blogs at WA. I love getting email notification of new posts of people I am following. And I'm always appreciative of comments people leave me.

Since joining Wealthy Affiliates, I have lost my despair over money and the future. I know from others in the community that this system works as long as I work hard at it. And I am a hard worker. I have been since I entered the work world at age 15.

Wishing you all much success!

Debra.

Thank you.

GREAT STORY! Thanks for sharing!

I love the honesty and the motivation that put you in gear here. You are right, we have similar stories. I'm working full-time too. Learning this on the side. This is the time that I learn to utilize my marketing skills for myself and not others. It's a great change.

Since this post, you made it into the top 200!!! Your hard work is showing.

Glad we're connected! I look forward to learning from each other.
