Looking for a New Job
As soon as I got to work today I was told that the firm was dissolving and our last day would be January 20, 2018. What's funny is that I had just reactivated my LinkedIn Premium Account this morning before I came to work, so employers can now see that I'm now active in a job search. I updated my resume and cover letter and tonight I filled out some applications for positions I fit with Indeed. I also located a recruiter I had worked with before and let her know I was in the job market.
That's what I call being proactive.

You know DBeatty, that can be very shocking news to get, I know, I have had that news before. I'm glad you are prepared for it.
Wow, how disappointing. But at least you have been given a couple of months notice. Now you can be on top of the job search and will hopefully have one before the firm finishes up. Best of luck.
Thank you. There are a lot of recruiting firms that specialize in legal administration and word processing. One or the other will suit me.

Good for you to be so proactive. This can actually be a good time of year to hunt - as new budgets for many companies start on Jan 1, which means it's time to hire new staff to start after the 1st of the year.
