Sorry, unfortunately that's not allowed. It's still a promotional link even if it's not for you. Any link to someone has to be non-promotional and has to be because of information, learning or to help someone.

It's not that some people would hate it, it is just they allow you to do it then everyone would have to and then WA would have promotional junk everywhere. They try very hard to keep this place educational and non-promotional.

I saw someone linked the rules already so I won't.

Dave as others have said its a no no but I am happy for you to PM me via here with your email address so I can pass it on if that suits

Have you thought of adding her link to your blog

hey hi David -- Kyle's rules are pretty clear regarding 'external' links of any kind ... especially any 'promos' .. the WA platform is live on the net ... and it needs to be kept clear & free of 'clutter' so to speak ... both Brenda and Paul here have given you good, correct answers ...

all the best -- keep well, keep happy! ... :)

Ok. No problem. I appreciate it. Take care

... 😊 ... !

Good question. I understand only authority links allowed. You can read the rules by typing in at the top search type in “spam no no “ see if that matches what you asked. Her link is a money making niche, best to ask Kyle.

Ok. Thank you

Put it on your profile page

Good idea. Thank you.

I'm trying to put clickbank links onto my website. Where do I place them at on my site. I realize probably anywhere I can but I don't want just a link hanging out somewhere on

Hey David,

1.) Past your affiliate links BELOW THE FOLD.

I added a Clickbank affiliate link to my sidebar that was JUST above the fold on one of my sites and it received a penalty. Once moved, the penalty was withdrawn.

2.) Only add relevant affiliate links.

3.) Use Pretty Links to keep track of how many people are actually clicking on the link: OR... use Clickbank's own tracking (Googles search for that info).

4.) No more than 3 affiliate links on any post or page of 1000 words.

For Clickbank, I use mostly text links... but... some vendors offer an affiliate link in the footer of their product page, where on that page you might find banners that you could use.

Hope you find this helpful.

Hello there! Nice to hear from you. Thanks again for the info. You said below the fold and I was like, what? What is the fold? I just watched one of Jay's webinars on landing pages and that was in the webinar, so now I know. LOL!

I do have the pretty links plugin already. So, that's a plus. HEHE! I am just now trying to use Clickbank, I've heard many great things with people doing well with Clickbank. I did find some relevant promotions from Clickbank to put on my site.

I actually did see a few banners. I will look more into all of this. Thank you so much once again.

Take care

I think it all depends on your preferred approach. This why I seem to go in the direction of Sam-Oa.

Brenda too is right with the training on the pretty links. Unfortunately, I have not been using it lately, not because of anything negative thing, but my indulgence.

May I add that, if your content is specifically on the product, it may be a good idea to have the link on your call to action.

And if it's product that is only relevant to your content, I think where you mention it in your content can be a good place to direct your visitor to where they can buy it.

I hope this helps.

Have a blessed day.

Thank you Segun, I appreciate your comment. I appreciate your advice.

Different approach works for different situations. How i will probably approach this is to, create graphics that is relevant to the product and upload it to where ever you want to use it on your website. Finally embed your affiliate link. Make sure you indicate that your graphics is a clickable image by putting a call to action. hope this helps?

Thank you. It really does help. I appreciate that. Take care

Did you follow the training? In Affiliate Bootcamp training tells you what to do. And how to link, the training there provides all the answers. Link in middle, link at end with sentences, how to use Pretty Link plug in etc

OK. Thank you. I'll go back and check. Thanks for commenting. Take care

What if we did the other training? He told us to pick one or the other. I did not do boot camp.

Hello! It's okay. The certification training is for your Niche website and the boot camp training is to promote wa.

I've only completed the certification training also. I haven't been through the whole boot camp training, I believe I'm only in lesson 3.

When I got approved for the SAC, I started trying to focus on it instead of the boot camp training. So there are still some things that I don't know that's included in the boot camp training.

I started off with a niche website. I've only been promoting wa 2 or 3 months. So, you're fine.

Take care

Maybe I should of started with the boot camp. I have people wanting to join and still do not know the best way to tell them because I have not link up for WA. I could make money just promoting WA more than the niche I picked. I think I made a bad choice my niche because it is not really my niche. LOL I just thought traffic would be good. Oh well. moving on.

What niche are you doing?

You can still send a link to them and it will be your WA link.

Don't just send them to the WA website because that won't work. You can send them a link from within WA that has a code in it so that WA knows the referral came from you.

Click on a dollar sign at the top and then click on links and tracking. Under your wa links the main link you can send them to sign up and they will count as your referrals.

I hope this helps.

Yes I think someone told me this in the beginning but I got input overload lol

Thanks!

No Problem. Anytime

I have 2 sites using the same theme. Is this bad in any way or is it ok to do? Just a thought that crossed my mind.

I appreciate any thoughts and comments.

I use the same theme with my sites and there's no problem.

I think that is just a matter of preference. If it all works with no problems why not. Colors can always change.

Hey David,

Having four websites that are using the same theme, I can say that it is not a bad thing. Two other sites I have are using the same theme... different layouts... same theme.

Who would know any different... though of course the theme developer would know. :-)

Hope you find this helpful.

If they are totally separate then I see no problem. As Debs says below you can actually customise them to look totally different

There is no problem with it.

Hi,
Yes you can. I use one theme on many sites they all look different.
It also depends on how you can customize them some free themes don't have many options to customize but other free themes do.

It all depends on what you want from a theme.
Hope that helps
Debs :)

If I find something I like that works for me I use the same one.

Awesome! Thanks for commenting. Take care

Thanks for asking the question. I've wondered about that myself.

You're welcome

I have several sites using the same theme. I don't see a problem with that as long as the content is quite different between the sites.

OK. Thank you very much for your quick response and comment.

Hey David,

These use to be more commonly used as backlinks, however they became an easy way for spammers to Spam & so are not recommended as a backlink method.

Here's Kyle's response on another Trackback question:

Kyle 2 years ago
These are called pingbacks/trackbacks and it happens when another site links to yours. Often times this is a form of backlink spamming as these people are hoping that you will publish their comment and get a backlink themselves.

I personally don't allow pingback messages to even show up within my comment area. They are useless and a nuisance. You can delete them within your Settings => Discussion under the top Default Article Settings.

Uncheck the "Allow link notifications from other blogs (pingbacks and trackbacks)" checkbox and this will no longer happen. (see attached image for reference as well)

Thank you. I appreciate the info. Take care

I've received a few of these, and just had two in the last couple of days. Other people here have recommended to delete them, and I think in the training Kyle recommended deleting them also, so that's what I did. I think they're a form of spam.

OK, thank you

I got one as well. It's a scam. I trashed it permanently.

Thank you

I also experienced this yesterday. Please is this spam or what?

I've had one before. Mine was definitely spam. I removed it safely from the back office.

I was just wondering about this.

I know I need to do some house cleaning on one site but I was just wondering if a theme could be one reason why people leave so quickly.

Hi David,
I look for a lightweight theme and responsive. If the theme is not mobile friendly then this can cause issues. Changed a theme over a year ago cause it had too many add-on plugins for it to perform properly. There is a site I use to use before finding my Generatepress theme that gave details and evaluations on many WordPress themes. I forgot the name of it has been so long. If I find it I will forward on to you.

Hello and thanks for your comment. Thanks for your help. Take care

In case you come across a theme you see and like you can always check for details on the below link.
https://www.wpthemedetector.com/

Here is another -https://en-au.wordpress.org/plugins/theme-check/

PS - I can't find the themechecker I was using over a year ago. Perhaps deleted???

I think Jim gave a great answer. I'd like to add that themes can pretty control the aesthetics and layout which is a major component of user experience.

If the theme has small font, unreadable font, poor layout options, weird colors, or anything like that, it could definitely contribute. Plus, as Jim mentioned, themes can also contribute to site speed, and this had negatively impacted my bounce rate at one point. As a result, I had to switch themes.

Hopefully, this helps.

When you switch themes what did you look for to help your situation?

I used Google pagespeed insught and GTmetric (dot) com to test my page speed before and after, and the theme that performed best and had the aesthetic options I liked is the one I stuck with.

Thank you

You're welcome.

It is possible for themes that are not well-written (code-wise) or don't contain helpful navigation components to cause people to head for the exits on a website. However, this is only one of many reasons and it would be difficult to pinpoint without testing.

Remember though, there are lots of moving parts to a WordPress website, including widgets, JavaScript and CSS loading, images processing, the overall speed of the site, and most importantly, how much the content resonates with visitors. Also, you may be able to keep visitors with increasing internal links to other related pages on your website, etc.

Best Regards,
Jim

Thank you Jim, I appreciate your comment and all the tips that you provided. I could send it to you in pm if you have time to look at it.

Hey David, I don't mind taking a quick look. But, it's unlikely I'll be able to tell you much just from looking at your site, at least why your bounce rates are high. Also, making changes will take time before you see the effects of those changes in your Google Analytics. Personally, I don't put too much effort into lowering my bounce rate. It's something that tends to take care of itself with increasing your internal links and having more quality content over time. People can spend crazy amounts of time on this when they could be using that time more wisely by writing more content and tweaking their strategy, more internal links, more images, perhaps some embedded YT videos, etc.

Best Regards,
Jim

Ok. I'll just work on those things then . I really appreciate it. Take care

I took a quick look at your Bluetooth site. I don't know if that is the one you are concerned with. But, one thing I did notice is you are displaying static prices for Amazon products. Did Amazon change its policies to allow for this? I haven't worked with selling Amazon for while, so I am not sure. But, it doesn't seem they would change this. This issue, by the way, isn't related to the bounce rates, just to be clear.

It's been my understanding that if you want to display prices, you'll need to use their Amazon Application Programming Interface (API) on your posts. These are function calls that will update the prices automatically for you. They do this because quoting prices forms a legal offer. If their price is different from what affiliates display, they run into a customer service nightmare, and possibly even a legal one. That's why I tend to doubt they changed this policy. But, I could be wrong.

If the policy still holds, then you have a few options. The easiest option, and it's one I see many affiliates use, is to simply state to the visitor a message that they can see the prices by clicking through to Amazon. If you need the price from the API, there are several plugins that can handle this for you. You will have to get the proper API keys to fill in the plugin database. Here is a link for more info on that:
https://docs.aws.amazon.com/apigateway/latest/developerguide/welcome.html

It is a bit techie unfortunately. But, I'd rather you be safe if you feel that displaying prices is needed on your site.

Best Regards,
Jim

I didn't know about the API. Thanks for that. I didn't know affiliates didn't put prices on their sites.

I thought some of the WA training teaches us to put as much info on our site as people are looking for every piece of info for the product they are searching for.

And it is the website i was talking about. Thanks for looking.

Some affiliates do put static prices on without knowing they shouldn't do it.

You do want to put as much info as you can in your listings. But, because Amazon changes its prices constantly, there is no way affiliates would be able to keep up with the changes. In many ways, the API helps affiliates because imagine if you had hundreds of product listings. You would have to change those prices each time there are changes which can be several times daily. But again, many affiliates think it is easier to display the message See Price on Amazon.
