Why Am I Still Here?

Hi, Everyone...

Another quick post for you today. Have you ever asked yourself this question when you log into Wealthy Affiliate? I have not, but I can imagine others may have.

There have been situations in the past when I HAVE asked the question...Each one of us has our own reasons for being here of course, and likely they are all valid.

Here is my short story...

After a brief stint of 7 months working for a large Corporation (at a good salary) which I joined when I retired after 25 years being a cog in the HUGE machine (US Army) i went fully out on my own.

I did this because I could see all the money I was leaving on the table by NOT going out on my own. This decision was made when my pay had quadrupled from what I was making while on active duty by the way!

The move was a leap of faith in my own abilities and drive. It addressed my desire to not only succeed, but excel...I had practiced desired work habits for others for many years and I was getting quite a handsome monthly pay, BUT...

It was not what I really wanted...

Why?

Look at this picture and see what I mean...

There are many reasons to be an entrepreneur, which is what this online business is all about...

But remember that you when you work hard, do this work diligently. and strive for excellence always, you are building YOUR future not someone else's...

THAT is why I am here and elsewhere online working daily and steadily at my business, interacting with other like-minded entrepreneurs, and moving towards my own dream...

I am building a future for myself and even more so for my loved ones...

Keep that in mind (or whatever your motivation is) and keep at this entrepreneurial venture you are on! Dream BIG...

Then go out and achieve that dream...

I believe in ALL of you!

Great message! Thanks for sharing and motivating.

Thanks Lynn...

Sometimes I think everyone needs to ask themselves why they are doing what they are doing...

If they cannot answer that truthfully, they likely are wasting a lot of minutes, hours and days...

We only have so many each of us is allocated, so unless it is willful, the wasted time is....a waste?

I know that I am certainly in need of such a wake up call every once in a while....

Keeps me focused!

Cheers!

Good evening Dave,

To be my own boss has always appealed to me.
To be responsible for one's own success or failure is the best.
I think you missed my monthly post which I published some days ago, it would be nice to get your opinion.

Greetings from the south of Spain, Taetske

Hi, Taetske...Yes I missed that post but I will check it out as soon as I finish this comment! I totally agree that accepting responsibility for your success is key to achieving it...Enjoy that bautiful weather in Spain, it is cooling off now a bit here in Dubai, thanks goodness...Cheers! Dave : )

Good afternoon Dave,

I just read that the latest of the latest in Dubai is a floating house with the bedroom under water level, quite amazing but I prefer to stay on land.

Greetings from the south of Spain, Taetske

Love the poster....that real sums up the reason most of us are here. As an employee we had the structure and discipline to do the job or we wouldn't get paid. We have to have the same mind set when working for ourselves. Good inspirational reminder.

Inspiring Dave...thanks for the motivation to keep at it...

Thanks Paul, I will and you keeo at it too! Getting rady for the big shopping season coming up, looking forward to it! Cheers! Dave : )

Thanks for the motivational blog Dave. A Lamborghini is a very nice car but a little too low for me, but I get the reason for having one.

I had to laugh at the too low for me part of your comment harvey, because it is the same for me! Thta is nit a car I would want to be getting into and out of at all! Cheers and best of luck! Dave : )

Very inspirational post Dave, thank you. So true are the words in the picture.

Absolutely....Glad you can use the thoughts, and the image is easy to keep in your mind and picture whenever you find yourself needing a reminder! Cheers! Dave : )

There are times I wake up/and before going to sleep asking myself the same question--why am I doing this? You have put great perspective on this and makes me think about it more. I suppose it does help me in a way that the doctors will not allow me to work, or drive, and never know when I will be able to again so I have no choice but to work from home. Thank you.

Blessings.

Yes Tammy, it can really be daunting at times with all the challenges we face on a day to day basis. Each of us has our own set of these, and they all have one thing in common:

They are obstacles that we somehow have to bust through or develop a work-around for so we can continue to move forward on our journey to our dream/end goal.

The voices around you and as you mention sometimes within will tell you that you should give up, stop, never will you prevail, etc. This is where looking at something like this post can help...

If you think of that picture and the words when the self-defeating thoughts pop up, put off the naysayers, and take action you know you need to, you will leap over the obtacles...

You can do this...Have fun!

I absolutely agree Dave! I have the same philosophy now. Why would you want to work to achieve someone else's dreams. The typical JOB (just over broke) hasn't worked for me. That's why I joined here. To build MY and my families future. One way or another I have to succeed at this.

Always like your posts here. Thanks Dave

That is the mentality to have Mark...I am sure that you can do this, the training is spot on and if you follow and build your business in the direction you envision, it will work...

Sometimes it is good to get an outside look or to read a message like this to see where you are and why you are doing what you do...I use this as a motivator, plus learn at the same time...

Cheers and gave a great day!

Thank you Dave. You're right! It is good to see this as a reminder to why I'm here. And yes, it is an awesome motivator.

Thanks again!

Have an awesome week and weekend!!!

:0)

Thanks for the encouragement Dave. I sometimes wonder if I have made a mistake, and the answer, upon further investigation comes up...NO!!

Hi , Tammi...There is no doubt in my mind that you are going places, you have that drive...As you channel it into this online marketing business, doors are going to open for you! I am in the cheerleader section cheering for your success! Dave : )

Thank you Dave, I just love male cheerleaders!!

Very inspirational . Thank you for sharing.

I like your title - working for yourself is the way to go. I have not had a regular scheduled workday in 19 years, and so not miss that at all! Cheers! Dave : )

Oh, thank you. Your hard work as paid off. That is great. I hope to get to your level of success soon. Thanks again.

Hmmm I could have been unemployed for 17 years hehe...But no, that is not the case...

Things have not slowed down for me, and I would not want it any other way!

My advice: Keep at it, there is no end to this road, just 'aha' moments that you can enjoy because of the oh sh__ moments!

You are more than welcome! : )
