What Are You Working For?
Hi, Everyone...
This is a question I ask myself and one that you should ask yourself too...
It really helps you focus in on the why of your venture into online marketing as opposed to the what and the how of the business...
The answer can help you in so many ways as you proceed with this program...
MY REASON(S)
I have more than one actually...Some are related to purely monetary reasons while others go much deeper...Here are just a few...
(1) Recuperate Losses from an Earlier Business Venture. At one point I had a lot more overall net worth and many sources of what some might say were passive income streams. During the global economic crisis quite a few years ago now, I ended up losing about $2 million dollars (this was mostly cash, and some other assets)...
(2) Build A New Successful Business. I never have liked losing, whether in school, sports, or business, and although circumstances largely were beyond my control when my business was eviscerated years ago, that feeling of failure did not and does not sit well...
(3) Preparing For The Family's Future. Even though we do have an adequate reserve for our own simple requirements, I want to build back our cash and assets to the point they were before the crisis and more.
Behind these reasons it becomes more personal.
I have 6 grandchildren now, aged about 3 to 20...The kids are now 40 and 39, and have their own lives, and are in good shape. My two girls are not able to plan too much for their children, as costs today just to live are so high.
This brings me to...
REASONS BEHIND REASONS
So it is up to me to work to once again build up a business that will provide a future income for them all and free them to do things they otherwise may not be able to do...Things like vacations, more time out with friends, doing fun activities, etc.
This is the 'why' for me...
I could lounge away the coming years and certainly have a lifestyle that is comfortable, if not lavish with what is there at the moment. But I think that would be wasteful in so many ways...
Because I want to stay involved in life, make a difference not only for my direct family members but also for as many others as possible. I feel strongly I have something worth passing on to others, so I am here and I am building this online business...
Here is a good example of the other side of my reasons...
Meet Shirin, my granddaughter, who is almost 3 years old, the youngest of 6 (oldest is 20!!!???)...The other five are just as cute and are brightly looking forward to life...
THIS is why I am building this new business! : )
RESULTS?
I can honestly say all the work done with the help of the training, advice, people, tips found here and elsewhere over the past 2 1/2 years has been helpful, and I am well on my way to achieving my goals...
It will not be done in a day, a week, or a month...
But...
Over the next 3-4 years I will get to the point I want to be, and I now know the what and the how...It is a matter of implementing the many tasks on my 'to do' plate...
The 'why' is clear and is a thread that runs throughout all my daily activities, and even some of the things I do outside my work...
I am very focused and it has helped me a lot...I have 17 notebooks so far of information over the last 2 1/2 years...This represents a lot of hours...
Income is rising, we are scaling up, and gross income is growing as well...It is a matter of time. As with your efforts here, I am reinvesting income to grow faster and scale up more...
You can do the same, all of you.
But...(always seems to be a 'but' right?)
WHAT ARE YOUR REASONS?
Knowing why you are doing what you are doing is going to help you focus, work diligently, plan, execute that plan, and over time get to the end game of whatever the goals may be for you...
Sometimes it is easy to fall into the procrastinator syndrome, especially with this online marketing business, because so much is done by you, for you, and done at home, with no boss staring at your work over your shoulder...
WRITE DOWN YOUR REASONS
My advice would be to write your reasons down on paper, after thinking through what you are doing it for, then post them in your work space where you can look at them every day...
This will help you whenever you may be feeling a bit lazy or just frustrated that things are not going as well as you wish...
This online stuff will work.
If you are in a pinch and need to make money faster than what is possible using the affiliate marketing route, my advice is that you look at alternatives that may be out there...
It is very likely that you can augment any affiliate income using other means available online such as Fiverr (selling your skills/products/services to others), training, creating products, or e-commerce...
Where there is a will there is a way...
BOTTOM LINE
Look for options, do not give up, adjust your activities as may be required, but always keep moving towards your goals, because you know the 'why' - you have them in front of you every day!
WHAT DO YOU THINK...
Do you know what you are working for?
If you do, great, march on...
If you are not sure, or think some deeper analysis might be helpful, I urge you to do it ASAP...
Either way, share your thoughts below...
I believe in ALL of you!
Cheers!

Hi Dave,
I share your reasoning and "why" I started here at WA. There are multiple reasons of course. I also agree that one should really look deep to see the truth in oir actions. It can definatley help to solidify and move us along.
Great pic of your grandaughter. I know that helps the drive.
Best wishes for reaching ALL your future goals. Thank you for this message this morning.
Cheers!

This is a terrific post...you lay a foundation that everyone needs to have in place to be successful. The "why" has to be clear as it helps us remain focused and commitment. You ask good questions, which I intend to follow up on for myself.
Sharon is gorgeous...children are powerful reasons to succeed. Thanks for your perspective. Debbie
Thanks so much...I am very fond of her as well...She looks so much like her mother it is uncanny. I have pictures of her mother (my daughter) when she was that age...Almost identical! Cheers! Dave : )
Great post Dave! Yes knowing our why will keep us on track and motivated in accomplishing our goals. Our why is what gives us purpose.
Wishing you much Peace, love, happiness & prosperity,
~Stacey
Great minds think alike hehe...Really I do think this works...Motivation can be a problem over the long haul...This will help give you a dose daily and also focus you on the how! Cheers! Dave : )
Great post, David! From time to time we have to sit back and ask ourselves this question: What am I working for? For me the answer has to be two things: Money and Pleasure!
Thanks much Eric...I hope it helps people to gain focus as they work this online marketing business...At times, it can be daunting to keep the spirit and the level of effort where it needs to be...This is one way (placing the 'why' in front of my nose where I see them daily) I have used over the years and it really works...Cheers! Dave : )
Money, as you say is one goal, but we also have to stay involved with life as you also mention. Thank you for the reality check
Hi, Pablo...Yes money is one aspect but I would hope that people have more in mind....Cheers! Dave : )
