Hi, Everyone...

Just a quick post to give you a tip on why to use a survey to easier segment your target audiences and then know how to approach them for further action as you bring them into a funnel. This can be any funnel, for a product, service, or an employment funnel.

Our Survey Experiences

As the title and supporting image of this post implies, they are powerful. In my case, we are using a "sales page" that is a digital billboard for advertising employment opportunitiies for people. The page is shown to a target audience across the social platforms only and through word of mouth.

Zero paid ads, but a referral bonus (i.e. affiliate commission?) means that our cost per acquisition is below $6 per person who makes it through the application and interveiw process. The close rate is over 80%!

Survey Set Up Keys...

The key to the success has been the use of a carefully designed survey or application as we like to call it. It is a survey though, have no doubt. Using the power of that survey, we have had such a good close rate that I do not need to pay for ads - qualified leads are plentiful through using that application/survey!

Design the questions so that you can naturally place the respondants into various categories that will tell you how to proceed, You can also use the survey to eliminate people so you do not waste time on those that are not a fit.

Over time, you will be able to refine that survey and get even better results. You can adjust the weight of answers and and give a score for each, and set minimal levels of "points" to either reject the person prior to them going any further (you do this in a nice way) or to add them to the queue for further processing....

Will Surveys Work For Every Situation?

That is a good question. I think so...The same procedure as above is what we are using for acquiring clients.

- The "foot in the door" angle we use is through offering high value giveaways - we spread these offers through free social media platforms and through emails or calls to targeted prospects we glean from research tools we use....

- The explainer/portfolio pages they are sent to lead the prospects into a survey when they want to know more and click through...

- We offer a series of free services and training along with discerning what they are looking for in that survey...The questions naturally will lead to the services we offer, and the free training will lead them back to us as well....

- As they fill this survey out, we score, tag and place them into various categories of prospects

- This scoring system triggers a particular set of actions for that type of prospect. The free training or reports or calls all lead to our services too...

- Every piece of content that we are creating to include the survey point the prospects to us and our services..

- We also tag every piece of content so we can track the movements of prospects. We can see what is working, what is not and adjust accordingly.

- For the names and emails we collect, we tag them as well within the AR (autoresponder) so they can be slotted into a particular campaign.

- Our leads and client prospects are added to a pipeline that we have for the project(s) and we have visibility on where they are in that pipeline...

- We can use this pipeline to then follow up with prospects and address specifically what might be holding them back from moving to the next step.

- Measuring everything is key to making it all work. Data and stats are your friends!

- Having visibility using mobile apps to access the system in addition to using laptops/traditional means of accessing the information helps speed things up.

- Imagine filling out a survey and getting a call 5 minutes later if you are a prospect. That immediately gives you a good impression? Yes, it does...

Advantage? We do not waste time or money shotgun blasting them with stuff they do not need or want...

They get information and we set them up with the exact services that they are looking for. The process is quicker, cheaper, and more effective.

The means of "touches" with the client start from a social account post, an email, or a call, with a variety of means of communications thereafter. Key is to touch them in as many ways as possible.

A second key is to make sure everything is congruent and leading them into whatever it is you are selling/promoting/offering...You need to think carefully as you design your survey to make sure it is providing you the information you need and can act on...

Probably the last key is quickness...Our system informs us immediately after we have received a completed survey. We can immediately follow up right from our phones or laptops using a variety of means...Facebook Messenger, SMS, phone call, email, or a push notification...

The cost? Only developmental costs for the sales funnel, the manpower to work the funnel results, and the ancillary expenses for Twilio, etc. when we use alternate means of comms with the prospects. Again, NO paid ads.

Can You Use This Survey Method In YOUR Business?

The key to keeping costs down and getting more quickly to "yes" is the survey I believe. I am a big fan as you might imagine, since it has been working so well for us.

You can do the same thing in your business niche...

You will save money and have more success using these and this is why I decided to let you know about the power of surveys today!

Obviously, using them most effectively will require careful planning and fittiing them into the thrust of your business. On their own, unless you have a plan they mesh with, they will not be as effective...

What do you think? Have you used surveys in your business? Have they worked for you? Let me know in the comments below, please...

Try it out and see for yourself, do not take my word for it! Have a great day and best of luck...

Cheers!

Dave : )

Hi, Dave.
Nice to hear from you again.

Nothing quite like a qualified lead to close.

My partner used to generate leads for the Time Share Industry way back then. It is a very lucrative business and also one that can use up a lot of resources.

Thank you for sharing your success with the use of surveys.

Kindest regards from Canada.

Paul.

Hi, Paul...

So nice to hear from you too!

The beauty of the surveys is that they do save you money for sure. You get right to the point with the clients, and they appreciate that you are not trying to sell them something that they really do not need...

Of course, there are still ways to do upsells...In our case, we offer "packages" of time, and these do not expire, ever. They can be used for the range of services we offer, and this actually saves them money...

Lovely Canada...I look forward to being back up there soonest...Our main office is literally right on the border in Minnesota, so I just have a walk across...

You take care and thanks for popping through and drop[ping a note and adding in your experiences with this survey stuff...

Cheers!

You are welcome, David.
Cheers to your continued success.

Remain awesome,
Paul.

Wow! That takes a little digesting, but I can see how it would work, ultimately. It's the putting it altogether that will take the time. Thanks for sharing

Yes, Linda, you re right...It does take some time...Also planning on how best to use it and of course formulating the questions, etc. All the other pieces have to also fit and work...Cheers! Dave : )

I love puzzles. Now to find that missing piece! LOL

That's a good thing! This online marketing is a puzzle...Fit the pieces together properly and you can create a complete "picture" and business...in our cases we can build the pieces to fit...kind of cheating I guess but really it gives you a lot of latitude to create the most beautiful end result!

Cheers!

Newish to WA and still processing “SMART” ways of identifying, and getting traffic to my my website.

I think like Carson mentioned, whoa, I need to re read and do some research...

Thank you

Love that SMART thing hehe! Please ask any questions as you have them, now or later! Cheers! Dave : )

Surveys hadn't occurred to me. Thank you Dave, it's something to look at in the future.

No probs at all, Linda...This stuff really is worth investing some time into, I am glad we have...Cheers! Dave : )

Good Morning Dave,

Even if this is not my world I understand very well the benefit of using these surveys. It saves you time and money to sift out and find the right client. The future client will be impressed with the prompt service. I can see how this propels your business model. A great idea!

Greetings from the south of Spain, Taetske

Hi, Taetske!

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look at the post... These surveys are very helpful and I've been blown away by how easy they are to set up...

This is another add-on to everything else we learn and use here, and maybe our case study examples will help others try them too...

I hope you are doing well... Enjoy the cooler weather in Spain!!!

Cheers!
Dave :)

It has been extreme weather in various regions in Spain. Especially Murcia, Valencia, and Alicante. Vast areas flooded, people losing everything when their houses were washed empty.

In the area of Almeria, a huge area with hothouses, big supplier of fruits and vegetables for Europe, all the harvests lost, also vineyards and olive tree fields.
It has been declared a catastrophic zone.

https://www.thelocal.es/20190916/maps-how-the-worst-storms-in-spain-in-140-years-have-flooded-the-land
Here we also had a tremendous gota fria = cold drop which is extremely heavy rain in a short time. One place had nearly 400 liters.
Here at home all is ok, quite a lot of earth got washed down the entrance road but that is all.
Back to sunny weather with 28C

Greetings from the south of Spain, Taetske

Wow, Taetske...I had no idea that there was so much bad weather over there this year, I am sorry to hear that...In many places, they are having extreme weather...

I am glad to know that you and hubby are out of the danger areas though, and hope that others are okay too. The climate really is changing faster and faster these days, and not for the better...

Hang in there with the sunny 28C, sounds pretty good to me!

Cheers!

Thank you Dave, we certainly will be hanging but on the beach with the snorkel, goggles, swim flippers, and underwater metal detector. No chance in the high season the coast is too full.

Hasta Pronto, Taetske

Surveys are a great way to narrow our targets and focus on what and who is important. I have used them to limited effect in the past, but I will continue to use them.

Alex

Thanks, Alex...I had used them in the past also with limited success...I think the difference is now that we are incorporating them in a way that leverages their power and fits well with the overall business model...Cheers! Dave : )

Dave,

Congrats for thinking outside the box.

The use of surveys offers more than one main benefit such as lead generation but also provides great priceless feedback for what the audience or marketplace wants.

Surveys can also help to determine if the winner is either version A or B in a split test and they can also be used with lead magnets/PLRs and some even incorporate a checkout section for not only address and/or E-mail collection but also for payment processing when a service/product/program is sold.

The major survey applications do not directly collect E-mail or personal data from those who respond to them, however, one can design a survey and ask for that info in order to deliver a lead magnet/PLR etc. via E-mail for downloading by the survey taker/responder.

There are FREE survey tools out there but they seem to be rarely used or even considered by many.

Surveys by their design are also eliminating the whole SEO/keywords/blogging/Google ranking, etc, approach as they are one of the purest forms of Direct Response Marketing.

So thank you once again for sharing this here, it should be something many can consider regardless of their niches.

Blessings!

Excellent points that flesh out the gist of my post! Thanks for adding your perspective to the subject of surveys and I do think everyone should consider how they can incorporate them into their marketing approach...

Cheers!
