INTRODUCTION

I made two posts earlier today on developing your own products and creating sales funnels to market them...

When reviewing them, I realized that it might be handy to have the checklist I use for creating sales funnels...

This is something I referred to in the earlier posts...So without further ado...

MY CHECKLIST WHEN CREATING EFFECTIVE SALES FUNNELS

There are many other considerations/pieces for creating an effective sales funnel... i.e. you will also want to consider a supporting marketing plan that helps you earn profits around the clock.

Here is my handy checklist that I use for every launch/sales funnel that includes ten key steps helping me make sure I identify and complete ALL the essential tasks of a profitable sales funnel.

(1) All of the products and services I offer in the funnel, including their price points and promotional price points are in one place.

I used:

- Spreadsheets

- Mind Map

- Flow Chart

- Notebook

- Other __________

(2) For the content on each of the sales pages, I’ve identified the problem solved, the target audience, and the benefit each product or service provides (I’ve added this category to my organizational system to keep the information in one easy to access location).

(3) I have a marketing content plan that will be used to drive my traffic and enter my prospects into my sales funnel.

It includes:

- Social Media Posts

- Blog Posts

- Guest Blog Posts

- Free reports/Case Studies

- Videos

- Interviews

- Forum Posts

- Other ______________

(4) I have created an attractive opt-in offer/squeeze page (giveaway and “sales page”) to build my email list.

My opt-in offer is a:

- Report

- Newsletter

- Tutorial

- Video Series

- eBook

- Other _______________

(5)There is an automated email message series for my autoresponder service to follow up with new subscribers that includes a thank you page and a several follow up messages to transition them to the first product in my sales funnel.

- I developed a timeline taking into consideration of the most effective time to deliver each message based on geographical location of subscriber...

- I created a format, determined the goals, and added a Call To Action for each email message...

- The email sequence follows a logical sequence from thanks at the start to a clear and strong call to action...

(6)The emails are loaded and scheduled delivery using my autoresponder. For example, I use AWeber or Get Response.

(7) Looking at my product/service list, I have identified all opportunities to:

- Upsell - When in the sales funnel do I best offer the next higher priced product to the customer?

- Cross Sell - When, withinin the sales funnel, do i offer complementary or supplementary products to your customer?

- Create special promotions – Is there a logical place within the sales funnel to introduce special promotions to customers that will help moving them through my funnel?

(8) My sales pages for each offer include:

- An attention grabbing headline

- Is written in a way that is compelling and benefit driven

- Proof social and other

- Motivation to act now, for example a limited number, or a limited time offer

- A strong and clear Call to Action

(9) I tested all elements of the sales funnel process including the following:

- Email links

- Sales page links

- How each element appears on various browsers.

- My shopping cart system (PayPal) is integrated into the sales material and email series and everything is working perfectly.

(10) I have a system for tracking the effectiveness of my sales funnel – I have systems to collect data about:

- Email messages click through rates

- Links and calls to action on sales pages

- Email open rate

- Squeeze page conversions

- Sales and profits for each customer and offer

and additionally...

- I’ve scheduled a time each week/month/quarter as may be relevant to review the analytics and make any necessary changes to my existing sales funnel elements.

MY PRODUCT/SALES FUNNEL FOLDER/FILES

I have a running database of all the products that I offer and include the items mentioned above and more. I organize them by category of product and establish unique product listing numbers/codes for each product...

This database can get quite lengthy and does take some time to put together, but it is definitely worth the effort. You will have a ready reference for all of your products offered and you can quickly build sales funnels using related products and organize the sales funnel products by price point, niche area covered, etc.

Here is the kinds of data I include:

- PRODUCT ID

- PRODUCT TITLE: XXX

- SOURCE/SELLING RIGHTS OF PRODUCT: XXX

- BASIC PRODUCT FILES: Stored XXX (Links)

- License Link: XXX

- PRICING: XXX

- FE Regular Price: $XXX

- FE Sale Price: $XXX

Note: Other prices as indicated below in Sales Funnel Details

Download files - Stored at Drop Box or S3 (?) – Available at the following URLs: XXX, XXX, XXX

Details about Sales Funnel:

FE Sales Page – XXX

Thank You Pages with Download Links:

FE Main Product -

...more pages as needed

WOO COMMERCE INFO (Website)

Page #:XXX

Product Category: XXX

Product Description (Woocommerce Product page)

Part 1...

XXX

Part 2…

XXX

Email Series

Storage Folder located: xxx

Loaded Where (Autoresponder)? XXX

Tracking: XXX

Other Notes:

(1) Standalone product (or Sales Funnel element)

(2) Images stored in website Media /S3 bucket xxx

(3) Product used in xxx sales funnels

RESULT:

This is a living document, in that whenever I make changes or add products, the pages may change, how and where used will change/grow, and I always have a ready access document to what the status is for my whole store/product range...

When you create your Sales Pages and Thank You pages, you will have all the information you need for links, download locations and passwords, plus image samples and where they are stored that support the page you create.

From my experience, each product can take up to 6-7 or more pages of data up in your folder...This is why I chose to organize the lists by category, otherwise the document can get too bulky fast.

Also, having a table of contents with page number location, the product, the product ID number, and whether it is a standalone or a sales funnel element is useful...Over time, you will be a lean, mean, selling machine by setting up and following a system!

CONCLUSION

This is just the general checklist/system I use...With the checklists/data folder I have created, everything I need to is there to stay organized, focused, and efficient with my work effort...

The point is to use some system so you know that all areas of the sales funnel are covered and will work for you. It does no good to work very hard to get a sales funnel up if you have left out one or more elements, because you will not have success!

Best of luck!

Cheers!

Great and informative. Thanks for sharing

Thanks! Can you help me understand a bit more what a squeeze page is, please? I've never heard that term before. Thanks! ~ t

Yes, sure...A "squeeze page" is a term used to describe a sales page for a product or service (as I understand it). It is pretty much interchangeable with another phrase I hear and read about that people throw around: "Landing Pages."

The beginning phase of pages may be an opt-in page, where you provide something of value to a viewer in exchange for them providing a name and email address...

With sales funnels (a series of linked giveaways/opt-in page, sales pages, and thank you pages) you are just using an online method of presenting related and complementary products one after another...

Done correctly, by adding in all the elements of a good sales page (or squeeze page as some would say) you can present an effective case for convincing the targeted reader to buy whatever it is you're selling...

Hope this helps....

Cheer!

Not a problem at all... I will be adding some screenshots of my product folders so folks can see what it looks like live (minus some critical info that has to remain secure, i.e. download links, etc.) Cheers! Dave : )
