HI, Everyone...

Just a quick post as it is a weekend, I am neck deep in work, and there is much to be done before the coming Thanksgiving Holiday and sales to follow...

"The Grinch Who Stole Christmas" is a Christmas story that my kids used to love so we watched that movie every year as a tradition (along with Christmas Vacation and the Griswolds) and a few other gems...

They all offer some lessons on human psyche and what makes people tick...

Today I want to use these holiday films to show how you avoid being the Grinch when it comes to affiliate marketing...

---

How Does This Relate to Affiliate Marketing?

Good question, and I will get to that in this post!

People like happy ending to stories and their lives actually. Just like in the movies I cited. You do too likely...

Did you know that you have the chance to make a small contribution to that happy ending through the content and the solutions that you offer through the things you are promoting?

It's true...

Make the most out of that chance and provide the complete story, and show them why what you have is what they need (even if they did not know it).

Once they take the action your are looking for, they will be happy!

It sounds simple, but it is not easy...

Words can be construed in so many ways, especially if they are written as opposed to being presented orally or visually.

The power of the words can be increased using a recording and become even more amplified if you use them speaking right in front of people.

We know that you will have a limited audience in most settings, so just how can you leverage the power at your fingertips right now (Hint: Using the power of the internet!)?

Yes, using podcasts, vlogs, video presentations, or live events in tandem with your written content is how...

Much like face-to-face meetings, you have the chance to add in so many more communication signals such as voice inflection, gestures, eye contact, audience participation, expressions, etc.

It is a more complete and compellng story you are providing to make them feel comfortable enough to get to that happy end you have for them.

Let's drill down a bit...

---

What Does This Indicate For Affiliate Marketers?

The whole truth, nothing but the truth, and the SO true for affiliate marketers:

"If you want to sell more, use video, podcasts, live presentations, and webinars."

--- courtesy Dave the FoodDude (that handle involves a long story, don't ask!)

Note: These sorts of content do not replace the written content that you all are working so hard on, rather they complement that effort.

The power of the internet is wonderful and allows your voice (and words) to get broadcast far and wide.

As opposed to most of my time presenting live to people so many years ago, you have an unlimited reach available to you today...

I love the internet and the power it offers to the everyman (my Frederick Nietsche reference) like you and me!

Do I Practice What I Preach?

Yes I do. I am appearing more and more in such venues as the ones I mention above, and it is a back to the future thing for me.

In one of my earlier lives, I was live in front of people quite often, from one-on-one settings to large groups of more than 3000 people...

It was always a nerve-wracking thing, getting ready to present whatever the subject happened to be, and I had little confidence starting out...

Over time I gained confidence. I pushed myself to do more of these as a part of my professional development program I set for myself...

You can go through the same process.

Nobody was born as a public speaker, a host on a podcast, a photogenic genie, etc. They all had to start and hone their skills, just like you and me!

The hardest part? Getting started...

---

How Do You Get Started?

It is really easy: Just do it.

The worst presentation is still good if the content that you include is valuable.

And I know that what you are promoting is valuable, right? So tell people about it! Tell them in words (blogs), through recordings (podcasts), and through video/vlogs/live presentations...

Tell the world! Use the social channels to let everyone know how valuable what you have to offer is...Ask people to share your gift of happiness...

Do it with confidence. It is the best, right? It is easy to talk about good things, and you can project that when this is the case...

You do not need the best equipment, you do not need a studio, you do not have to be perfect, you do not have to do it all at once...

Just get started...

---

Am I Done?

Yes I am. This is just a quick heads up to all.

There is time to do some recordings right now, today, this weekend, before the sales start...

Let others know using ALL the powers of persuasion that you have in your tool chest. I know you can do it.

Don't be the Grinch that stole the audience's chance to get your solution they need. Tell them through videos in addition to your written content how good a deal you are offering...

So now...

Enjoy the weekend, but get some work done too...

Black Friday is coming!

Boo (oops, wrong holiday)!

Happy Selling Everyone!

Cheers!

I think a lot of us will need to get out of our comfort zones.

DaveSw - Very Good post and what to do to become successful. There is one thing I would like to add; If you find it difficult after couple of tries and you find that you don't have the polish that you would like, I recommend enrolling into "Toastmasters". It is the perfect tool to hon your speaking abilities in front of others. Best to all WA members.

Totally agree and thanks for adding that tip! Cheers! Dave : )

Yes I've done a couple of live You Tube videos and some videos without me personally in. The clicks per view are double for live view vs just video.
Great Post
I have to do more

Hi, Tim...You are right, there is often no need to appear in the videos, the graphics and information are fine. More engagement is the outcome for sure! Cheers! Dave : )

NIce post Dave! I like how you said the more times you performed, the better you got. It set yourself up for success.
