Best Business Practices Facebook

Hi, Everyone...

Today I wanted to show you where to learn tons about how best to use Facebook for your online marketing business.

There are many people that shy away from using this social platform, and with reason, it can be complicated to make it work for you.

I am sure that some here have also tried paid ads or boosted some of their posts in the hope that they will get additional business.

Unfortunately, if you are not clear on how to create ads, most of the time you will end up losing that money and have little to show for it.

Did you know that there is a help center on Facebook?

Facebook Help Center

This is an area that has numerous articles and guides on every facet of Facebook. Easy to find, simply type in your browser window "Facebook Help Center ______ (add in the subject you are looking for guidance with)...

In addition to the training you may get here and pull in from other websites or from YouTube or elsewhere, it would be a good idea to spend some time on this site to really learn all the ins and outs directly from Facebook prior to starting any paid ads.

The subjects cover a wide variety of areas, and if you cannot find what you are looking for, you can always ask for additional guildance from their staff. I have used it several times...

Facebook Ads

Here is an example: When I do a search for 'ads best practices' I get 83 articles!

A few samples results:

  • Lead Ads Best Practices
  • Dynamic Ads for Travel Best Practices
  • Dynamic Ads Best Practices
  • What Are Best Practices for Importing Ads In Power Editor

There are 79 more just based in that search!

Do you see how this site can help you?

Just as we have here, the search window will quickly allow you to go directly to the article or community post that deals with your question.

Bottom Line

Facebook is a platform that allows you to highly target your audience using the tools they have for you. It is quite effective at getting your offers to the right people.

My recommendation is that you learn more about how to get set up properly and how to use it properly so you do not waste money...

Most certainly there is a learning curve, and over time, as with Wealthy Affiliate training, if you invest the time to learn you will see results.

I would say most people are not taking that time, hence you hear about all the money they have spent with no results (so Facebook is a waste of money they will say).

That is not true. If you do things they suggest, you will have a high chance of succeeding...

Question:

Have any of you been running Facebook ads and if so, what kind of campaigns? Are you boosting posts, do you have a business account, and what is your feeling about this platform?

I really would like to know...

Remember, I believe in ALL of you!

Have a great Sunday, here in Dubai, the temperature is coming down to a reasonable low 30s during the day now (nice!) - Still lots of sun though!

Cheers!

Dave : )

Yes Dave, I use Facebook ads consistently for my ecommerce business, and have had success with them.

Good to hear Kaju...I have also, but is quite tricky (and when you see the spend you really want to see some ROI, and fast!)...Cheers! Dave : )

Yes, I closely monitor the ROI and reduce or kill the ads when they aren't making money.

Great, thank you Dave. Just one caution, when you look at those articles pay close attention to the dates written. Facebook changes its policies continuously and what worked great for someone even 6 months ago may not work now because of an algorithm change. This is the frustration with Facebook, not just the learning curve for what works but also needing to be endlessly attentive to why it doesnt work anymore and what the new protocol might be.

It was actually this endless fight with Facebook that caused me to drop my FB page as a business hub and relocate that hub to a WA blog through Wordpress. However, that said I did indeed find some of the best advice on the Facebook Help Center, they have some great folks there, some of whom are dedicated to helping folks through these incessant changes.

And I did run some ads there as well. As with other folks, the ads seemed to drop into the abyss -- 600 people reached and no response. Then I joined a FB ads group and they laughed at people who didnt have the budget to do at least $1000 a month on ads. I thought, if thats what it takes to be successful with FB ads, Im out of this game. And its been WA for me ever since.

By all means go ahead and try FB -- your niche could work better there than mine did. I will still investigate how to link up and use FB with my WP site. Its a necessary platform for any online business to integrate.

Thanks much for stopping by Doug, first of all...

That was some great feedback regarding your own experiences...I know many people have the same or similar experiences, and a lot of it is because of what you describe...

The changes often happen seemingly unannounced, and then all the work you have done to build an ad that works...Doesn't. We have had that happen already...

I am a member of several groups that focus on Facebook ads and all the changes and tips, tricks, and ideas are to be found in them. Just as here, you have to sift through to see what fits...

One BIG issue is a misunderstanding of the Facebook Pixel and how to season it and use it for your campaigns. If not done properly, no matter how the algorithm changes, you will not have success...

The reason I believe we have to stay in that market (FB) is the sheer size of the audience. Unlike organic traffic and websites with content, which takes time, FB ads are the quickest way to get to a large but targeted audience...

That is why I am determined to learn about and keep abreast of how to best use FB Ads...

If you do not understand what you are doing and do not have some sources to go to where you can look for answers (like we have here), your chances of success are diminished greatly...

So I am using a combination of the two, and we are having success (this week hehe), and as things get more and more sophisticated with FB, hopefully, the knowledge I have now and what I will continue to pick up will give me a leg up on the competition...

Thanks again for stopping by, valuable input we can all learn from!

Cheers!

Ok Dave, I totally hear what you are saying. How to interweave organic and incited traffic. I get it. I just followed you and will keep this on the back burner for further follow up. Im not sure that I did indeed season my FB pixel properly. I know that this is going to come around again at a certain point when my site needs it. Could you post the names of a couple of FB ads groups that you found useful? As I mentioned, the one I found was dismissive of anyone who didnt have thousands to throw at ads per month and basically had zero community spirit. Not my kind of folks.

Sure, Doug...I focus on e-commerce mainly when using paid traffic, so the groups I am a member of that are good includes:

(1) eCommerce - Led by an extremely successful guy that has enjoyed huge success in the niche...There are many tips and bits of advice, and live streaming, etc.

(2) For YouTube and Email marketing - The gentleman that heads this group is a very down-to-earth dude that has enjoyed lots of success leading JV sales lists on JVZoo, even with smaller lead lists and often going up against pairs or more teams that compete for highest sales...

(3) FB Ads Agencies - This third one is a super-active group that is lead by a team of entrepreneurs who specialize in FB Ads...They have members that have enjoyed over $1 M in sales using their tactics, and although they have a paid program, LOTS of good tips to be had for free within the group...

I do have more, but these are three I visit most often...

Please send me a PM and I will provide you links...The system is not allowing me to add them here...

Cheers!

I highly recommend it if you are considering paid ads! Cheers! Dave : )

Thank you:) I will for sure when I am ready for that

Thanks Dave, great tips!

If you are using FB for more than social (i.e. ads, promoting your website, etc.), this place will help! Cheers! Dave : )

I'm just starting to explore to see how to use FB to drive traffic to my website. May be later to advertise. Book marking this. Thanks again Dave.

Top of the range Dave, true like you say there is a wealth of information right inside of Facebook they make their money through advertising so are keen to show us and provide information so folks can make the most of the opportunity.

You are so right Alexander! I have the folks looking at this site every day! I spend time there too, and it is helping us with our social marketing and paid ads...Cheers! Dave : )

Great info Dave and thank for sharing with us

Best regards

Paul

Not a problem, Paul...

Just like when I started here, it was really helpful to be able to hit that search window and get directly to a post, tutorial or lessons on what I need to get answers for.

I have not read here or in many places actually about people that promote using this site. Maybe they want to sell their expensive training courses!?

There are answers for most things about Facebook right on that site!

Cheers!
