Hi, Everyone...

I thought it would be a good time to add a post that highlights some of the habits that successful entrepreneurs practice as we enter into the heavy holiday time and get ready for 2018.

At this point, many of you are winding down the current year activities, and planning for what areas to focus on next year. The habits, hints, and ideas presented here may help get you the right mindset to make the most of your coming year.

So here is a list that has been collected based on people that have made millions, in large part because of their drive and habits.

We can learn from them and when applying the ones that make the most sense to us or maybe addressing the areas that need attention for our own online businesses, achieve more than we thought possible, or perhaps better said, achieving everything you know is possible...

Note these are just a smattering of habits that cover different aspects of successful entreprenuers life. Some may or may not apply to you...Have a look...

The 50 Best Entrepreneur Habits

Here goes my list, broken down by subject area:

(1) Health & Fitness

Habit 1: Get Up EARLY. The early bird gets the worm. This is a true statement. A lot of work can be completed before others are rubbing the sleep out of their eyes!

Habit 2: Work Out Regularly. Staying in shape offers so many advantages. Better health, more energy, alertness, stamina, and euphoria are a few things I can think of...

Habit 3: Consume A Proper Diet. No one or few of eats an exactly perfect diet, but successful entrepreneurs are conscious of what they are eating. They try to eat a balanced diet and one that is healthy. Note: We all break the rules sometimes, as idueing this time of year, but entrepreneurs track this and go for balance...

Habit 4: Know Fitness Equals Success. As stated above, once fitness becomes part of your routine, you will wonder how you ever got along without it. The benefits are many...

Habit 5: Drop The Bad Habits. This is a continuous examination of what you are doing, seeing what habits, good or bad, that you have. The ones that are destructive or detrimental - they get canned/removed...

Habit 6: Get Professional Help When Indicated. If you need help, get it. You are not the all-knowing person, and there are experts in almost any field that you are not an expert in that can help you when needed. Do not be too proud to seek that help when appropriate.

(2) Professional Goals

Habit 7: Write Down Your Goals. The good old pen and paper still works. Doing this can reinforce what it is you are shooting for and how you will get to the end point of your adventure. I like to use colors, highlights, arrows, bold underlines, etc. which helps me even more.

Habit 8: Work On Those Goals Daily. Start your day off by looking at where you are and what you will be doing. Make sure that your time and effort are moving you forward towards meeting your goals. Make 'to-do' lists

Habit 9: Dream BIG. This is a big one, no pun intended. There is no dream that is too big. It is in the steps to achieve the dream...Go the extra mile, that big dream is where you need to focus on. Taken step by step, huge success can be accomplished over time.

Habit 10: Stand Up When Knocked Down. Setbacks happen. That is just the way life is. Accept it and do not let them slow you down. Know that for every door that closes, another one or two will open up for you. Believe that and act like it is so.

Habit 11: Never Give Up On Your Dream. I replied here to a post where the author said it would take 5 years to make $5k a month and that members need to steel themselves for this. My attitude is that may be true, but it will not stop me. You can do it a LOT faster too with the right attitude, a plan, a good work ethic, and the right niche!

Habit 12: Do Things Others Won’t. There are not that many people that will stick out waiting 5 years to have freedom from the 9-5 job through online marketing, or any other means of making money, for that matter. You have to be willing to go that extra mile, take the extra 30 minutes a day, watch a little less TV, etc.

Habit 13: Be Flexible To Adjusting Goals. I have been preaching this since day one here. Regularly evaluate what you are doing, and adjust your activities and goals as indicated. This after-action review process is so vital so the lessons are learned and corrections made...

Habit 14: Eliminate Procrastination. Get busy! Things will not get done on their own. If you have people working for you, make sure they are getting things done that are scheduled. Do not put off until tomorrow things you can do today.

Habit 15: Over Deliver With Everything. Always over deliver. If you are expected to proviide X, provide that and Y too. People appreciate your effort and will learn to trust you.

(3) Personal Development

Habit 16: Read Lots Of Books. Books are a wonderful way to get fresh ideas and new insight on almost anything under the sun. Reading the old paperbacks or hard cover books can be an adventure and is a healthy exercise...Read regularly!

Habit 17: Teach Yourself New Things. Always be curious and ready to learn something new. It might be something very technical and related to your business, or it could be learning a new recipe or language...It keeps your brain in shape.

Habit 18: Educate Yourself, Do Not Worry So Much How Much Formal Education You May Have Or Get. These days, having some parchment on the wall is not as important as getting an education from many sources, as what you have here with Wealthy Affiliate.

Habit 19: Be Aware Of Your Shortcomings. Know that you are not perfect, that is perfectly alright. I only know of a few people that are close to this, and they do not hit the mark 100% of the time. This is OK, we are all human. The key is to work on areas that you may have some shortcomings in...It is a journey...

Habit 20: Improve Yourself A Little Bit Daily. This is something you can control and use to your advantage. It could be one very small thing, but over time the small things add up, and you can get a heck of a lot better, as can your business!

Habit 21: Be Responsible and Take Responsibility. Act responsibly as you go about living your life, and take responsibility for your actions. We all make mistakes. Admit them, fix them, and try not to repeat making them.

(4) Spirituality

Habit 22: Spend Some Time On You Daily. Every day, make it a habit to carve out a little time for you, and you alone. It does not have to be a long period, 10-15 minutes will suffice. Use that time for whatever you want, but many like to meditate, pray, or reflect. This is a healthy thing to do.

Habit 23: Help Others. It gives you a good feeling when you help others, right? Well, do some of this as often as possible. Do not do it for personal gain, do it because it is something that you want people to do for you too. It just is a giving thing that leads to more giving. All win.

Habit 24: March To Your Own Drum, Not To The Beat Of Others. Do not follow the pack, Rather, follow your own set of morals, your own rules, and practice what you think. If you have a solid set of morals and beliefs, others will see this as a strength, as you will.

Habit 25: Develop a Solid Code Of Ethics, and Live Within Them. This kind of goes with the last habit mentioned, but part of growing up is developing your own compass of life. How do you want to be perceived by others, how do you want to act and feel, what kind of behaviors will you practice, even when others are not watching? Live the ones you develop too, you fool no one if you do not.

Habit 26: Get Inspired. Posts such as this one are good places to get started but there are so many success stories out there that will help you feel the energy from their story or tales, and you will be the better for it. Inspiration is a vital piece of success. Get some.

(5) Financial Habits

Habit 27: Budget Your Life and Business, Stick With That Budget. Self-discipline will carry you far in life in so many aspects. The financial side is no different. Entrepreneurs live with a budget and follow that budget. They take calculated risks, and at times may fail, but they make every attempt to live within their means.

Habit 28: Save Over 10% Of Your Earnings, Always. Making this a habit early on in life can make a major difference in your quality of life in your later years. It can be painful to stick away in savings 10% or more of your income, but successful people have been able to do it, and you can to. Thank me later...

Habit 29: Keep Your Credit History Spotless. Life happens and there may be times when bills stack up or you fall behind when losing a job or for some other unforeseen reason you get in trouble. Fix this as soon as possible, and of course hopefully with good budgeting you can avoid such circumstances.

Habit 30: Pay Your Help. You know the value of the people you hire to do your work, so pay them a fair wage so they do not have to look elsewhere to earn a living salary. Saving by scrimping on their pay is not going to work long term. People notice and will not want to work for you or they will leave.

Habit 31: Automate Payments and Money Matters As Possible. I am a big believer in automating everything possible. This includes your financial transactions and all things having to do with money. It is such a useless use of time when automation can do the same thing faster and more accurately often.

Habit 32: Keep Good Records. This is something you can also automate, but get something that will make accuracy a top priority (and also back ups). You never know when you will need old data, so keep copius records and store them where you can get to them.

Habit 33: Develop Multiple Income Streams. One key thing that entreprenuers seem to be doing is building a variety of income from sources that vary by market segment. The reason is clear. If one area becomes less profitable or dries up, the others can help soften the blow.

(6) Personal Relationships

Habit 34: Share Your Experiences and Share Your Time. It does little good for the world if you do not share what you may know or be good at. How can others aspire to achieve what you have and how will they know what you have done or how you did it? It just makes sense to pay it forward so humanity can get better and go further.

Habit 35: Make Your Family or Loved Ones A Priority. Having success in business is great. Earning a lot of money is fine. Entrepreneurs know that this mean little if there is no others that you care about to share the fruits of the labor.

Habit 36: Hang Around Success Oriented People. That old saying that you are who you hang around with and socialize with is true to a degree. These people reflect your beliefs, your values, your morals, and etc. Pick your friends wisely.

Habit 37: Build A Team. This is so important, as are the friends you choose. You want people the are of similar thinking in that they also want to achieve a lot, have success, and make a difference. Reward then accordingly too as they excel, and let them know just how much you appreciate them...

Habit 38: Be Kind To Others. The old golden rule holds true. Do unto others as you want them to do to you. Kindness costs nothing, but pays you back many times over. It can make the difference between making someone's day and destroying them mentally for no good reason. How do you want to be treated?

Habit 39: Stay Away From Negative People. These type people can suck all the energy right out of your soul. We have had a couple of posts on this subject here lately, and entrepreneurs know that such people are poison and to be avoided.

Habit 40: Listen Twice As Much As You Talk. We have two ears and one mouth. Not sure who figured out that this was the way to design us, but some people have forgotten that fact. Active listening means that you are not talking while others are. Try this. The best entrepreneurs know how to listen.

(7) Creative Outlets

Habit 41: Keep A Journal. I do this religously, and I know many other entrepreneurs that do the same. Call it a working diary, call it a journal, whatever. It allows you to track what is going on with your business and refer back to moments and notes as far back as you have these...Very helpful. Today you can do this using digital storage, but i am old-fashioned, I still use notebooks and a pen...

Habit 42: Find Hobbies You Enjoy. This is so important to your mental health. You need to have an outlet for the stress that naturally builds up from your work activity plus you need to find things you like to do that will provide entertainment for you. Balance is everything.

Habit 43: Choose Jobs You Will Enjoy Doing For The Long Haul. If you hate what you are doing many things will not happen, You will not take joy in what takes up a large part of your life. You will not be as healthy, you will not be as happy, nor will you likely be very good or go very far. Find something you can be passionate about...It makes things so much easier...

Habit 44: Always Seek New Opportunities. Entrepreneurs know that there are always new worlds to conquer, and they actively seek out these new directions and opportunities. It keeps things lively, entertaining, and exciting. Why setlle for less?

Habit 45: Remember To Have Fun. Somehow too many people have forgotten it is okay to have fun. You do not have to work yourself into exhaustion to be successful, nor do you have to eliminate the fun aspect of work. There are a lot of funny things that happen while working...Laugh a bit!

Habit 46: It's OK To Be Different. As an entreprenuer, you are likely not going to be the same as the multitudes that follow the party lines and do what they are told all the time. That is okay that is what makes you special and in a category of your own.

(8) Community Involvement

Habit 47: Support Important Causes You Believe In. Entrepreneurs have beliefs that they back up through their active support. They will provide money, time, logistical assistance, people, etc. because they have values and live them.

Habit 48: Inspire Others To Get Involved. A part of showing your support for whatever cause is inspiring others that may follow you or believe in you or what you are doing. They will want to get involved too. That is one of the powers you have as a successful entrepreneur. Use it wisely and to help the ones that need it most.

Habit 49: Volunteer Your Time. As mentioned, entrepreneurs give up their time, a most precious commodity to causes, to help others, to affect changes for the better. They do this freely and with no expectation of payback.

Habit 50: Get To Know Your Neighbors. You will be surprised at how many successful entrepreneurs are really nice people. They want to get to know the people around them and are interested in what they may be doing. They learn a lot and can add this to their own lines of reasoning and actions. Win-win is what happens when you get to know those around you.

What To Do With This Information?

It makes sense to evaluate where you are and where you want to be. Look through these traits and behaviors, see which ones that you are exceling at and which could use a little attention.

As you get ready to tackle the new year, resolve to work on those areas that need attention. Map out a solid and task centered plan to improve as needed. Add in check points regularly so you can note the progress and reward yourself accordingly...

Bottom Line...

We are all entrepreneurs to one degree or more. It pays to look around and see how you can be more effective as you strive to achieve the success that so many other entrepreneurs have had.

Enjoy your holidays, and get ready...2018 is almost here!

I believe in ALL of you!

Cheers,

Dave : )
