INTRODUCTION

Here are 10 steps I follow to grow my business with partners and eventually Wealthy Affiliate prospects (I am adding focus and attention to WA which I have not done until recently).

Since I am in the process of planning for next year now (I like to work ahead) even while in the middle of the selling season, I thought it may be useful for you to see my planning and execution process...

Note that I do not discuss content to a large degree in these steps. That is covered in the training you have here. BUT these are steps you can take in addition to the content you are working on. They will help get the word out on what you have and offer...

WHO WILL THIS WORK FOR?

I think it will work for everyone. You can massage the process a bit and make it fit what suits you, but the basic framework will work for any membership site or program.

As the new year gets closer and closer, planning now and taking concrete steps to be ready will help you have more success next year.

You can do this without paying for ads, by the way. It combines the biggest social platforms with some of the more traditional methods of marketing to leverage the power each offers for your program.

Most importantly, going through these steps means you have a plan of action...

Let's get started...

WHAT ARE THE STEPS?

1. Plan your attack. On paper. Use a pen or pencil...Mark it up as you develop your plan. Add in bullet points, then drill down...This starts with an outline and main points, then you get all the tasks for each area filled in...All pertinent points in each area of focus should be determined.

This is your marketing plan.

This is the basis to create:

(a) a post or a series of posts.

(b) a video script for live streaming and explainer videos.

(c) at least two versions of a sales page.

(d) a video sales letter.

(e) two versions of a bonus page.

(f) 2 versions of ads, and

(g) at least 10 social post series you can use...

So you know how you will proceed, you know what supporting materials and copy you will need, and you have essentially created a sales funnel outline. You are ready to move to the next steps...

Many people think Sales Funnels are most useful when you are looking for leads (i.e. when used with lead magnets) or when you are paying for ads and drawing people in, but they can be useful for your overall online business too.

Let's look a bit closer at some additional steps...

2. Make It Your Own. Once you have your outline, now you can place the points in your own language. I mean by this you make it sound natural, using words that you feel comfortable with and use normally in your daily conversations with those around you.

You want to practice the oral presentation, or the elevator speech, so you sound like an authority figure when you do live video streams or record explainer videos, and perhaps are speaking to prospects over Skype or WhatsApp...

NOTE: You may want to make two versions, one for those people you know and one for those who you do not know (I would say these could be categorized as warm versus cold leads). The second version may be a bit more matter-of-fact as these people have no idea who you are.

Look carefully at your choices of words and thoughts for effectiveness, nuance, and intent...

3. Create Your Copy/Publish Your Copy. Next create a couple of versions of ads and all other supporting materials. Try a few types of ads (i.e. a video ad and one using an image or a few images only). Have some other people you trust look at what you have created.

Post the ads (note these are just posts, you are not paying anyone) on all the accounts you personally manage on the social platforms.

As an example, we currently have 6 Facebook IM pages of one sort or another, 2 Twitter accounts, Instagram (just starting), and etc. Use them all, whatever you have!

Consider creating a Blogger dot com account so you can post synapses of your posts (and your free ad) as this will help on the SEO side - that platform is owned by Google, as is YouTube. Hence the advice below to add your videos to YouTube and also, add them to your website post...

The reason I would upload the video also to Facebook is that you are more likely to get on other people's timeline as Facebook likes it when you are keeping account holders on their platform. More exposure for free...

For your sales pages, you can use your current website and add the pages in...I have another post here on using WordPress for sales funnels. Have a look at that to see how to use a free tool such as Elementor to create great looking sales pages...

Also add in tracking pixels on all your deliverables so you can see what kind of response you get from people who view your ads. Having data on what actions they took will help you make any changes and will tell you which versions are working better for you.

Make sure that you only test one thing at a time so you narrow down the exact thing that is working or not. The tracking pixels can be used for all published material, to include the pages you use for posts, sales pages, bonuses, etc.

Look at adding in ribbon banners highlighting your offers, exit pop-ups to capture people as they are leaving your page, and use other tactics such as limited quantities, limited time, or discount prices for a limited time (use these if appropriate)...

Remember to also add in some social proof if possible (i.e. testimonials - star ratings and video testimonials work really well). I use a tool that pops up unobtrusive notifications of recent purchases by customers too.

On my websites I have an AI chat bot that asks general questions and essentially is a way to get leads in a more humane manner than the pop-ups that are so aggravating to many people...

If you want, you can also create contests and a rewards program that support your funnel. This will pique interest and get people to share and have them do the marketing for you...

4. Open Lines Of Communication. Use the contact tools that are available to you on those social accounts. As an example, Facebook Messenger is an excellent way to have instant communication with prospects. Consider using the Messenger AI Bots that are out there to set up some basic sequences, much as you do with email sequences...

5. Tap Into Free Resources. Do some research on related groups on facebook that you can join. As an example, I currently am a member of over 30. I am not active ALL the time in each, but I do take a few minutes regularly to comment, provide info, answer questions, etc. in each. I may not hit all of them in one setting, but I am there, and the admins notice.

6. Work With Your Prospects. Over time, you will start to get queries about what you are doing, or perhaps requests for advice or recommendations. This is when you can pull out your ad and link to content that follows along the outline of your plan you did in step one.

Caution: Do not go into these groups and just start posting your ads with links, That will be considered spam and likely you will get booted. Be a part of the group and add valuable information first.

Facebook may even say you are using a bot and may block you... I know we have had members here who have had that happen (so far it had not happened to me)...If you get blocked you will not be able to respond to leads you may get.

7. Be Prepared With Your Material. Tap into your website through supporting posts you can link to with your ads, and try also links to your recorded explainer videos (upload these to YouTube and Facebook), and even offer a PDF version to potential members that do not have the time to read through at that moment but have an interest.

8. Consider Alternate Means Of Comms. Add in additional means of communication as may be available. Consider Skype, WhatsApp, WeChat, Messenger, and offer to speak one on one with prospects for free.

You will be surprised at how effective this can be. You can use video calls or regular calls, but it gives you a chance to expand on what you are offering. This is also why you need to practice your elevator speech!

9. Follow The Money. Track your results and make changes as indicated in all parts of the sales & marketing funnel you have created (this is essentially what you are setting up). You will see what is working and what not. You will get familiar with what you are selling and over time you will be an expert and sound like one.

10. VERY IMPORTANT: FOLLOW-UP. Once you have gone through the planning and set up of all the things above and it is deployed, you must not forget to follow up with the leads that you generate.

You can do this in many ways. One would be to prepare a sequence of emails and add these to an auto responder, you can use an app like Facebook Pages to instantly see who is doing what on your pages, use Messenger, Skype, respond to comments, etc.

BOTTOM LINE:

Start now to plan for next year. As you get closer to the holidays, you will get caught up in the many activities that surround the season and have less time for your online business. Getting this done now will mean that you are ready to get the new year started right.

What do you think? Are you planning for next year? What other things should we all be doing now to be ready for 2018? I am interested to hear and I think it will be useful to us all to start thinking now about this and taking action...

I believe in ALL of you!

Cheers!

Thanks Dave, very nice! You should have made this a training

No probs Loes! I do hope it helps members get to work for 2018! I am also working on a few training courses for WA (two major, one not so much)...Busy busy busy! Cheers! Dave : )

Hi Dave - Lots of good information in this post. Thanks for putting this together. Bookmarking for future reference.

Great business plan, Dave.
Like you, I will use 2018 to focus on recruiting for WA. That has not yet been a priority of mine.
I'm a sucker for apps, so all my plans and thoughts in a process like this are stored in MindMeister, a mind mapping tool that works and syncs across devices.
There I put in site structure, article topics, article interlinking, and whatever other ideas I come up with.

Thanks Dave for these very useful tips. I wish there is aplace within our space at WA to save these posts from other members that we find quite useful for ourselves . Here's to you, stawhu

Ahhhh but there is a place! Look near the top of any page here and you will see a star...Click on that and you can add in keywords for the post (so you can find it again quickly), and hit save...

Whenever you want to access all your saved posts, go to the search window at the top and click on the star on the right side...

Your saved posts will appear in a drop-down menu and you can scroll down to the one you need...I use this soooo much, and I hope it helps you too!

Cheers and thanks for the kind words...

Excellent information Dave. Thank you for the tips. Attraction Marketing is a good way to engage with audience. Doing live videos helps to engage with the audience and it provides an opportunity to provide value about wealthy affiliate. Be creative when posting on social media. There are lots of marketing apps you can use to make creative posts. I like to use Quik, PicsArt, Boomerang. Hope this helps anyone in the group. I am working on preparing for the new year as well.

Cheers.
