Hiero Theme

I thought I would post this blog, because I know some of you may use the Hiero Theme

Hiero is a Freemium( a Free Theme, with Premium Features hence the name freemium) theme from aThemes

Now I had it until recently on my staging site here and had an issue with part of it

So as there was no documentation for it on the aThemes site, sent a support ticket in asking a question

a Week later, I got a reply back from aThemes, saying that Hiero, while a nice looking theme, has been discontinued, because it was not popular.

So if you have Hiero on your site or are considering using it, because it is still shown as one of the themes available when setting up your then my best recommendation is to not use it, but to maybe go for the GeneeratePress Premium version, until you are ready to upgrade to a WordPress theme toolkit plugin, such as Thrive as I have.

Interesting! When I first created a site, I used Hiero theme but couldn't change the thick black header.

One and half years later, I moved on to Generate press and Thrive plugins.

After my site got hacked through infected Thrive plugins, I risked downloading Thrive Suite again one year later.

Generate Press and Thrive Suite plugins are great!

They absolutely are. Thanks for commenting Stella

I use Heiro on my gardening site and seemed to have lost my menu button. I've been thinking of moving the site to generate press but have been a bit afraid to try it. Jim

Just noticed Feigners comment and think I might try Astra.

I've had Astra Pro in the past and found it restrictive as I did with GPP, hence my switch to Thrive, which is completely bootstrap and suits me as I don't like restrictions with WordPress

I would definitely recommend you try Astra and generate press. Why don't you create a test site in site Rubix for everything you want to test including themes? That way you won't mess up your site. Another point to remember Jim is always take a backup of your site before you add something major like a theme. Don't rely on site support to do it for you

good answer

Hey Jim,

I really like Generate Press. I tried the free version then went onto the Generate Press Premium... only costs around $60 USD.

Jay uses it and has talked about it quite often in his webinars.

Also, there are some really good Generate Press tutorials on YouTube.

I believe there are a good number of members using Generate Press too. It's has a very fast loading time, etc. Excellent features.

Regards,
Monica
