Now this post is written, because, earlier this week, thanks to this awesome community, I learned about ‘Anchor Text’ in a wordpress post. I had heard the term, but never really knew what it meant
But thanks to another member here, who pointed out what it was, I learned it is useful
So, I have started using it, in my posts and very nice it looks as well : 0
Anchor Text in case you don’t know, is the visible and clickable line of text in the form of a link
However, did you know that despite it looking nice, it can affect your
Why?.... Because there are different ways to go about using Anchor Text
Used the wrong way and Google, together with the other search engines perceive anchor text as ‘affiliate links’ or you trying to fool them, as a result of which they penalise you
Did you know that?... Well its true : )
However, used the right way, then your SEO content is perfectly acceptable and search engines will love you even more
So, what is the wrong way to use anchor text?
The use of generic links, as the example below, shows you, the brackets are the HTML around the word, if you can imagine that

The best way to use anchor text is within the flow of your writing
For example direct people to your site such as
Branded Links ou can find more information at >Yourname.com</
Exact matching article >Exact Matching Article?</
Exact Keyword/s >exact keyword/s</
Partially matching keywords such as variants of your keywords to make a clickable link
Related Keywords, not a direct match, but one that is similar to the keyword to make a clickable link
The Golden rule when making clickable links is to keep them with this flow of what you are writing about, so as to keep the flow and make sure people click through
