Self Worth
An ex-colleague posted this picture recently and I thought it was worth a share amongst our community. Recently, things have been tough for her but she has done her best, struggled against the odds and now, at last, there is light at the end of the tunnel. I don’t know all the details and I don’t need to know.
The message was a simple one, about believing in your own self worth and value.
There are two £20 notes shown here.
The one on the left has been through some tough times, life has been hard and this little £20 pound note feels a complete mess.
The £20 note on the right, however, is crisp and bright, untouched by everyday misuse and neglect.
The question you must ask yourself …
Is the note on the left worth less than the one on the right.
Just because you are going through a tough time, because life is hard at the moment, never think that you are worthless and unwanted. You might need some help to get straightened out. Those rough edges might need some TLC to get them looking smooth and straight again, and there might be a few more wrinkles.
But despite all the hard times, it is still a £20 pound note. It is still of the same value to everybody, it is worth no less than Mr Crispy on the right.
No matter what you are going through right now, there are plenty of people around who will see you for what you are, who will value your worth and will give you a treasured place in this world. They will recognise that you are no different to anybody else.
We all have a story to tell. Some stories are a little tougher than those of others, but doesn’t that make them more interesting.
Value yourself, your self worth. You are equal to anyone else, despite what the world has thrown at you.
There will always be someone ready to sit next to you and iron out those creases.

You are so right, and it's good that you remind people. Our self-worth can keep us moving forward, because we believe in our selves and our abilities. Being a little rough around the edges only shows we have been out there bucking the current and trying to move forward.

It's important to see our self worth first and then how much worth we have to those around us.
