Saving the Best until Last
Cooking up success
Whilst I don’t fancy myself as an exceptional cook, I can turn out a mean curry, a nice pot of rice and some crackin’ soups. Don’t try the lemon soup though, that was more like paint stripper; I upset a lot of friends over that. As you can guess, I like to watch cookery competitions, just how do they achieve those artistic finishing touches; mine never look like that.
In almost every series there is at least one promising chef who gets knocked out at the early stages and during his debriefing interview (or her), they always say ...
“ I should have put my best dish up, I was saving it until the final”
This always make me shudder. It’s a knock-out competition for goodness sake. You should be putting up your best dish every day. You have to win every day.
Too often, people will save the best until last – or so they say. Did they really have a best for last. It’s a bit like promising to do better tomorrow. I’m having an off day, I’ll catch up tomorrow. And they never do, the opportunity passes them by, or some other urgent task swings in with the rising sun.
Saving the best until last is ok if you’re the only one in the game, such as a pop concert. Saving your classic songs for the last session. But in our game, we have another 240,000 would be blog writers - or more, all trying to catch the eye of would be viewers and potential purchasers.
If we don’t attract their attention now, they will already have passed you by and invested their hard earned cash with A.N.Other long before you get around to publishing your own best.
Make every day the day that you do your best, write your best and publish your best. You need to be in front of the competition, not behind it, not even alongside it.
Put your best out there every day because every day is that golden opportunity to be the best.
Just do it, before somebody else gets in first.

I totally agree with you on that Bux. It's all about putting your best out there in every way possible.

Spot on Myra. There is a saying, now you remind me, put your best foot forward. Keep doing the right thing.

Saving your "B? E? S? T? for last
can make you Dead Last.
How can you test if IT RANKS as Best if you didn't even put it to the Test?
Always do your best, follow all the directions and procedures as we are taught.
Your "Best" is only a starting point to Do Better.
It is NOT ABOUT YOU anyways, it is about user experience.
Get over yourself!

Thank you Bux! A lot of inspirational kick butt quotes.

"Best" first, and raise the bar higher. That would be the more realistic of choices, when we are not the king and the judge of "us" and extensions of ourselves.
Narcissism is a disease not an asset.
Others may be clearly ahead of our positions in authority and understanding.
Conversely, where we can't see but a distorted perception of what we want to see, and they by not just knowledge, but by wisdom and understanding, see clearly that which we cannot see.
Bar up higher. Fears faced are fears chased! They drop their lessons, their gifts, and run.

Thanks, Bux for your reminder here actually everyone tried their best to give the best shot each and every day but the reality is very few succeed to produce the best.
So right Preetam. Don't you give up, keep going.
