KFC at last

At last, made it

Two long weeks without a KFC. I was beginning to have withdrawal symptoms.

After my weekly shop at Earthfare, the local Vegetarian and Health Food store in Glastonbury, I accidentally drove past the unhealthy, non-vegan fast food outlet and treated myself to a truly unpalatable and disgusting meal of cold greasy chips and dubious chicken fillets.

Then I sat on the Somerset Levels and enjoyed every last morsel of it.

Love it, this is part of my reward system for working hard on my inter-business, especially after 4 days of prolonged interruptions this week. I was up until 12-30am today or is that last night, and actually got more done than planned, so I deserved an extra reward.

A nice healthy slice of vegan raspberry cake.

That was after the calorie enriched chocolate cake (vegan of course) and the extra shot black coffee at Benedict Street Kitchen.

Reminder to self : Must buy new bathroom scales, these old ones are stuck on heavy.

Enjoy your weekend, it’s there for the taking.

Good morning Bux,

I hope you are doing well, I think your mail after your raspberry cake!

KFC, I haven't had one for probably six years and the same with McDonald's! I don't miss MacDonald's, but KFC sounds quite good!

I used to serve in a large church every Sunday on the borders of Notting Hill and Knightsbridge. There was a McDonald's and KFC nearby which were regularly used by the members! That brings back some memories! I didn't live in London, I had a 130-mile round trip to get back to the Essex/Suffolk border, always good to get back to the village!

I feel like a KFC now!

We have a similar pair of scales that varies tremendously, we have to take an average figure!

Have a great day.

Roy

Some one did suggest a cardboard cut out figure to glue over the scales with the ideal weight already on it. Diet over.
Bux

Not a bad idea!😂

Roy

I like it, Bux! Brilliant, and could you imagine the affiliate sales at New Year's?

Jeff

Oh yes, Jeff. What a great idea. Pre-settable scales.
Bux

Exactly, the moment they receive their gift, their resolution has been ACHIEVED, Bux!

Jeff

Yours too, Dave! I thought I was the only one with that problem.

Canty

There must have been a faulty batch of bathroom scales sent out.
Bux

Yep, Dave!

Canty

Haha, throw away the scales and buy those stretchy pants.
We must reward ourselves for working hard, KFC is pretty good in Vietnam. Fresh and hot…yummm.
Stephen

That is a good idea Stephen.
Its making me hungry now, a light lunch I think. Must be good.
There's not many songs about food, is there.
Alan's Psychedelic Breakfast
Breakfast in America
That's all I can think of.
Bux

One of my faves.
Is there life after breakfast, Ray Davies.

Can’t count, I am the egg man.lol.
Stephen

Hi, Bux.
There was a time when back there you could get consistent. KFC.
Growing up I could eat all nine pieces

Ans it was about 5 bucks.

Things have changed.

It does not taste the same.

They cut the corners and the use of their oil is not good.

They now "Pressure Fry" in rancid oil.

When and where are the good old days when we enjoyed KFC and were proud to share it with others.

Those days are gone, my friend.

Somebody actually wrote a song.

Those were the day's my friend...I hope that they will never end...Those were the days,...those were the days.

Peace, love, and light.

Paul from Canada.

That was Mary Hopkin I think.
Yes, talking to my son today about Xmas tins of toffees and how there are less sweets in each tine each year.
It won't be long before the tin weighs more than the contents.
Bux

Nice.

When I was stationed in Baumholder, Germany from 1981-1983, there was a KFC there 😊 I remember that there were rumors that the "chicken" was actually mice! I never was really interested in going there, and I don't believe the rumors had anything to do with it--of course, one never knows!

I'm a vegetarian myself, Bux, so my diet isn't as strict as yours. I'd say you deserve to have a break every so often!

Margaret

You've triggered a few memories there Margaret. There was a KFC near where I was stationed and that was always a Saturday night stop. That was during the Cold War and we always said that the best time for the Russians to invade was a Saturday night because most of the army were down town getting rat-arsed.
I'm flexatarian. I alternate each day, meat one day, veggy the next. If I'm having lunch out I always try to find a vegan cafe by preference. Much tastier food and usually cooked with care.
Look after yourself.
Bux

Thanks for sharing that memory, Bux! It brought a smile to my face 😊

I'd never heard of a flexatarian--thank you for the education.
