In the fog

I love driving in fog, I used to drive thousands of miles a year and I always hoped for a long drive on foggy days.

It certainly appealed to my need for regular adrenaline fixes. No wonder I’ve had so many broken bones. Some clever psychologist somewhere could have made a fortune out of analysing me.

In the days before SatNavs and driver aids, what excited me most, was that I could drive for several hours and not really know where I was – and then – suddenly – VOILA – bright lights, a town and the fog begins to clear. Am I further than I expected to be or do I still have a long way to go. It was the element of surprise, of suddenly arriving, that gave me my fix. Half a mile up the road, I had not got a clue, and now it all made sense, I was home.

This is exactly the same with our on-line businesses. We want to be successful; we want to be good at what we do, but right now, nothing is making sense. This is just like driving through fog. Don’t give up - keep going, even if you can’t see the bright lights of achievement. You might be closer than you think.

One day, all of a sudden, your efforts will spring you out of the fog and confusion. You will be in bright sunshine again; your efforts have carried you through those dark and dreary days. Those long nights of working alone for no apparent reward.

You’ve made it, you are making visible progress now. It might not be your final destination, but it shows you are going the right way.

And those doubting Thomas’ that said you couldn’t do it, stop wasting your time, get a normal job. Those that gave up themselves and now want to hold everybody else back, they are still hundreds of days behind you, waiting for the fog to clear.

Go for it chaps and chappesses. Hit that adrenaline button and damn the broken bones.

Life, adventure and success are out there waiting for you. Just the other side of the fog.

Ah, yes -- We named our Boston Whaler, which was the station wagon when I lived on Spruce Island, "Onward, Through the Fog." Have had some interesting adventures in the fog in that skiff.

And the Juneau airport -- Why did they build it in a hole? Once my son and I were heading for the terminal and the fog was so thick, while David drove, I kept my head out my window to make sure we stayed on the road.

I remember days like that Fran. Fortunately for me, very rare, but sounds like they were regular days for you.
Thanks for the reply and enjoy your new week, fog or fine.
Bux

Good analogy, Dave. After a long time, I think the fog is thinning for me.
Jim

That’s the way Jim. Every few days you see a little more success.
Bux

Very nice, Dave.

Ya know that place where the fog starts to break, then you're back in it, then it breaks, then you're in it again? Yeah, that's where I am. It's comforting to know that the sunshine is coming to stay!

Dave

Summed up very nicely Dave. In and out of the fog on our journey to success.
Stay lucky.

I'm working on creating my own luck by following the training and making content-content-content my focus. It really is helping to lift the fog.

Just keep going buddy. I’ve worked to a similar plan for several years. Consistency and regularity of uploading are key. Whatever you say you will do, do it. On time, every time.
Good luck
Keep your eyes on the prize.

Sounds good! Thanks!

Ah yes, the fog. I kinda like those mornings too. Here's to driving in the fog, Bux!

Myra 💜

We could start a convoy.
Keep well.

That's another great idea, Bux!

Take care,

Hey Bux, great post thanks. We don't get much fog in Florida, but we do get monsoonal downpours when traffic must slow because you cannot see anything in front of you. They usually last for an hour or two and then clear bright sunlight. Not my fave time to be on the road. Best wishes, Jenni.

I’ve heard of that Jenni. And some place where the hail stones wreck car windows.

Now THAT is an excellent analogy, Bux! Here's to the foggy drives!

Cheers!

The only way to go Jeff.

Sure sounds like it, my friend!

Jeff

I bet we’re both foggy day experts by now.

I must agree, my friend! Every day that I wake up I seem to be in the fog! We just have to keep plugging along!

Jeff

Hi Bux.

"Life, adventure and success are out there waiting for you"

Couldn't have put it better myself if I tried.

Enjoy your day.
