Bat Out of Hell

So sad to hear of the death of Meat Loaf.

What an iconic artist and my life is peppered with memories evoked by his songs. Truly classic songs.

I read his life story a couple of years ago and he really struggled to break into the musical world. Meat Loaf was not a name invented for the stage, it was a school playground name. He’d always been called Meat Loaf. His songs were rejected by one producer after another, but he never gave up searching for that break. He was told by one music producer to forget singing, we might be able to sell a song or two, but they’re not worth very much.

So he kept on trying, and trying a little harder, and eventually he made his break into the music world. And aren’t we the lucky ones, blessed with all those great songs.

So when you are up against it, just remember that victory comes to those that persist, those who refuse to be defeated. Believe in yourself, despite what your own critics say, believe that you will win.

Go out and be your own Bat Out of Hell

God bless, Meat Loaf

Hi Dave,

Thanks for writing this post about Marvin Lee Aday. Apart from his fans, I don't think many knew his birth name.

One of the excuses producers gave to support their conclusion he would fail was his almost 300 lb weight.

He is a prime example like you said of believing in yourself so much that you take action like a bat out of hell to prove to people that you can achieve your dreams.

It is not a surprise that those who go through life with ease, don't succeed because they have to create their own motivation. With artists like Meat Loaf, when you get rejected, that alone can give you the energy and drive to prove people wrong. Facing rejection, time over time can be a good thing.

His songs will live on.

Cheers.

Edwin

People like this are role models for us in their attitude to rejection.
Very few of them have it laid on a silver plate for them.
Thanks Edwin

Awesome message Dave, I grew up loving the sound and songs of Meat Loaf, and have some awesome memories.

It was a shame his last real performance was that of the AFL Grand Final, as this will be what a lot of the younger generation will remember him for.

RIP Meat Loaf

A superb artist and a great performer.

I remember listening to many songs of his, especially since I was and still am a follower of past and present music of all types.
Patience is needed to further Any ambition or passion we have. Sometimes success take a little longer , yet it be gotten in time.
Take care,
Bill

A great artist, I could listen to his songs for hours.

Great tribute, Dave! Many of us fail to see behind the curtain of those who came before us. We only see and relate to our own struggles.

Seldom do we realize that failure is failure and success is success. We think that another person's story and lessons learn cannot be applied to our situation.

Keep inspiring,
Canty

I like reading biographies, especially if they show adversity being defeated by sheer determination and belief.
One of the best books was about Alan Sugar of AMSTRAD fame. It was made more interesting by the fact that I actually met him before he was famous. Its a good read if you get the chance.
Take care Ronnie, it's dangerous out there.

Kool, Dave!

Thanks,
Canty
