Rejection and Failure
One of the things that keeps many people back in their attempts to create an online business is a fear of rejection or failure.
For example, think about a time when you had to fill out a detailed application for a high-paying job. In the back of our minds, we know it is a good idea, but at the same time, we worry that the application will lead to a rejection—or, possibly, an interview followed by a rejection.
So we don’t apply. And we rationalize it by saying that we would have been rejected anyway, so we might as well save the time that we otherwise would have wasted writing the application.
Have you written a post for your site which was absolutely brilliant but ended up bringing little or no traffic to your site because bad Mr Google didnt rank it highly which makes you reluctant to put the work in again in case Google doesnt give you ranking love?

In moderation, having fears is a natural defence mechanism, but once it begins to permeate every aspect of your life, dominating your emotions; and forcing you to accomplish very little throughout the day, it has become pathological and needs to be dealt with.
Another thing we often do is live in complete fear of failure. We spend so much time convincing ourselves that we cannot accomplish something (and that when we fail to accomplish it, our lives will be horrible) that we stop working towards it all together.
Instead of trying to accomplish the goal; and being disappointed only if we fail, we convince ourselves to hedge against failure by only putting in half as much effort as we could. Just like fear of rejection, fear of failure can be highly detrimental to our personal and business endeavors.
If you want to be truly successful in your field, it is critical that you stop living in fear of failure or rejection. If it happens, it happens. But if it doesn’t need to happen, then don’t force it to happen with self-sabotage.
I have read several blogs recently where members have talked about giving up because they feel that they have worked hard and got nothing to show for it. I hope these people persevere and don't give up because you never know when success is just around the next corner.

Dave this is a really terrific post and so relevant to many I think at WA and elsewhere. This takes patience, I know I have yet to succeed but I am on track to do so & every day I make progress.

I'm one of those people. I guess nobody likes rejection, but some learn to cope with it better than others.
Earlier this week, I wrote one of the best posts I could, but it didn't make any difference. It took me a loooong time to complete.
This is definitely not for the faint of heart. Thanks for sharing.
