Are You Giving Value?

I was just clearing out my inbox earlier when I was reminded of a selling strategy that I just thought I'd write a quick post about it in case anyone found it helpful.

A while ago I bought a few bits and pieces of PLR that I thought might help me with creating products, lead magnets and site content etc. I noticed that there were usually several vendors selling the same PLR package and most of them were offering some sort of bonus if you made the purchase through their affiliate link.

As affiliate marketers we are usually in competition with other marketers who are maybe promoting the same products as us - especially if we are in a competitive niche.

How do we find a way to stand out from the crowd?

Writing quality articles and reviews about the product is certainly one way to do it but have you ever considered offering a bonus to entice people to buy from you?

How do I offer a bonus?

OK, so you might be thinking that you can't afford to do that but the bonus doesn't actually need to cost you anything other than maybe an hour or two of your time to create something.

Let's say the product you are selling is a physical product (Not one from Amazon). An example might be the juicing machine Kyle talks about in the training. Perhaps you could offer a free guide to 10 top juicing recipes if you buy the product via my site.

Another idea for something to offer for a physical product might be free access to a training video you have created on how to use the product.

For a digital product you could offer a free training on how to use the product or maybe even a free copy of an ebook you have written (or bought the rights too) which complements the product.

Who would you buy from?

Think of it this way - if you were interested in a particular product would you buy it from the person who just recommends it and thinks its great? Or would you buy it from the person who recommends it and has a special free gift for you if you buy it through their site?

If you can find a way to be different and better it can only help you in building your business!

Dave07 - I have never been fond of doing business that way personally and for 2 reasons. 1st your are dealing with a price sensitive product and if a free give away seals the deal that customer will only be with you until the giveaways go away. Also it reminds me of TV mercials that presents their product and then says wait I am going to send you 2X and free shipping. You have to ask yourself what is it worth? 2nd reason is do you really want you customer base to be made of that type of customers that are only attracted to that type of deal and not the product that they are buying. Sorry, Dave07, but that is my perspective on that situation and everybody has to do what is right for them which is the purpose of WA. Thank you for your post.
P.S. There is room for everybody at WA and how they want to conduct their business and I wish everybody success with their goals, health, wealth & fulfillment of their work.

I fully appreciate your position and understand your reasons. It might not be for everyone but if it helps someone I'm happy to suggest it.
Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts and good luck to you 🙂

This is an interesting subject, Dave. I'm pleased you have written about it.

In 2017 I purchased PLR solely relating to toys. I rewrote the entire content of three articles and published them to a Christmas website I own. Ever since. I have felt rather 'grubby' due to the adverse comments I've read, not about those my posts, but about PLR in general.

In spite of how I've felt, several months ago I published a post about PLR on my affiliate site. I've never asked for comments, but maybe I will do that and see what happens.

Thanks very much for this post, Dave.

Hi Valerie
Yes I believe there is a place for PLR as long as you don’t just simply pass it off unedited as your own work.
I’ve used it as a starting point for lots of things and then add my own ideas to it.

That's great, Dave. Thank you.

Great advice Dave and very true. I'm all for freebies.

Hi Mickey. Yes if you can do something a little bit different to the rest it might just make the difference to our results

The age-old saga of he who gives the best bonus gets the sale.

Derek

In a crowded marketplace it can pay to be different to the rest 🙂

Nice Post thanks for sharing, though I use a simple landing page and get lots of opt ons daily

Cool. If it ain’t broke - don’t fix it 🙂

Absolutely

Dave,

Great actionable post, and indeed in and of itself it does offer value in what it informs us.

I love the PLR part a lot, and I feel that too many are either not thinking of incorporating them in their marketing strategy just for being unfamiliar or others who feel that they are not "original" products (although in that line of thinking I never understood how there are no objections to just about anything we have to buy in our lives to use or eat/drink if it is not our own product or service).

As if selling Amazon or other platforms products or services would be different....

But I digress.

Another great nexus you've made is that the PLR we offer has to be in connection with a product of service or related the product or service we try to sell.

So, for simplicity's sake, if we sell tires we can throw in a tire shine spray bottle or a coupon for it deeply discounted.

Thanks for sharing. And for providing actionable advice. And value.

Blessings!

Thanks for the great feedback.
Yes its important to offer something relevant as a bonus. It would probably harm conversions to offer an ebook on facebook ads (no matter how good it is) to a customer buying a juicer or gym membership.
Cheers!

Hi - great idea, but you can't do this as regards Amazon products. They specifically state "You will not offer any person or entity any consideration, reward, or incentive".

Thanks Diane - I will update the post now! I don't personally sell amazon products due to lower commissions.

Delete my comment if you like, and we will pretend you never said it lol

Lol - no I will always own my mistakes! If someone else learns this too then it will be worth it
