2 Words That Will Kill Your Business!

Have you ever said any of these things (or heard others say them)?

“I can't start an online business because I don’t know what to do.”

“I can't start my own blog and build an email list because I don’t know how.”

“I can't create my own product because it's too difficult.”

I can't [insert whatever it is you want to do] because I don’t know how.”

Those 2 words "I can't" are your brain's way of giving yourself permission to fail. When it comes to online marketing such as affiliate marketing it usually requires you to spend some time learning new skills. Successful people relish the challenge, but those who are lazy or lacking in drive and determination just quit, shrug their shoulders and say "I don't know how to do it"

Well guess what… neither did every single other person who did it for the first time!!

Will you believe in yourself?

To achieve anything in life you’ve got to take a leap into the unknown, and take it on faith that you will land on your feet.

Figuring things out on the fly is a learned skill - and a very valuable one too!

And the more often you take the leap – any leap – without knowing exactly where you’re going to land, the better you get at it. Plus, each time makes you better equipped to leap again and again and again.

Learning to adapt to unexpected problems and be flexible when things go wrong, or you need to learn new skills, will help you overcome any difficulties you face while building your business.

Expect the unexpected!

You can never anticipate the exact skills you will need until you need them. In fact, you don’t know what you don’t know until you find out you don’t know it. (I think that makes sense!)

Expect challenges. Expect setbacks.

They are coming for you, so be prepared mentally.

The important thing is to have goals for your business and a plan for how you are going to achieve them. Add in that flexible mindset and you will be unstoppable.

So back to those 2 words that can kill your business - I can't.

Next time you hit a problem and start thinking to yourself "I can't", stop yourself and rephrase the problem. When you say "I can't do this" your mindset is that you are already beaten.

Instead say to yourself "How can I do this?". This gives you a completely different mindset where you are focused on finding a solution to the problem - rather than the problem itself.

It might sound simplistic but don't underestimate the power of this simple rephrasing. It really works - so be sure to try it!

Good post Dave.
Said too often the words 'I can't' become an automatic response.
I know someone who has missed out on many things because she says those words. After a while people stop asking.
In business you don't try new things because 'I can't' is so automatic.
Either that or you never start at all.

To many people are reluctant to step outside the comfort zone and just trot out the old excuses to avoid trying.
