100 Days As A WA Ambassador - Time To Step Away

Hello WA friends.

I just noticed that today is my 100th day as an Ambassador here at WA.

I joined the site in May last year, primarily because I was looking for a good option for hosting for my existing websites. The hosting has certainly been everything I had hoped it would be but it has been a great added bonus for me to discover so much valuable training and meet so many amazing people.

I am proud to call many of you friends, both here within WA and also outside of it too.

When I started browsing through the training and getting familiar with the site I was curious about the ranking system and what its purpose was, but as I got involved in stuff here it was interesting to see my ranking improve day by day.

I never believed that I would one day become an ambassador and I viewed them as people who must be way more advanced than me and be earning huge sums of money from their businesses.

Of course, I soon discovered that they were mostly normal people, just like you and me, and while many of them are definitely doing very well with their digital businesses, some of them have never earned even a cent.

It was certainly never a priority for me to become an ambassador and it sort of happened gradually over time as I shared my own thoughts, learnings and experiences in my WA blogs, answered questions from others when I could, and interacted with other people via their blogs, that my ranking inched closer to the top.

At the same time I have made sure to focus the vast majority of my time on training and learning to build my business and I am very pleased with the site that I have built alongside my amazing friend Heidi.

Ambassador

Back in January I finally entered the top 25 to become an ambassador and have remained

there until now. I have enjoyed continuing to share my own thoughts on online business as well as sharing strategies and tips I have learned elsewhere. I also enjoy helping others who are just starting out and need help or encouragement,

I have been pleasantly surprised by the number of members who have contacted me privately to ask for help or advice and I hope I was able to help most of you.

However, now is the time when I feel it is right for me to step away from being a WA ambassador and focus entirely on the job of building my business.

On the one hand, there are no tangible benefits to being an ambassador. There is no financial reward and no discount on any fees or services - despite the enormous volume of time and effort that WA ambassadors put in to helping others within the community and making this site the warm, welcoming and helpful environment that it is. (Yes I was well aware of this before I became one)

Today I learned that WA is increasing its prices. This news seems to have been circulated among a select set of members by the owners. However, this select set of members did not include ambassadors.

You get treated no differently to any other member. I have had messages to owners go unanswered and I know other ambassadors have too. (Yes I know they are both very busy and probably get hundreds of messages daily)

WA Changes

There is still no better place anywhere online to learn how to create your own online affiliate marketing business.

However I feel that there have been changes in the community recently which don't sit well with me. In the last few months some of the members I have grown closest to have felt that they no longer have a place here, which is terribly sad. They are awesome people and the community is poorer without them.

There has been (in my opinion) a lot of garbage talked about bullying and alleged "off-topic" blog posts. This has led to a lot of bad feeling and in turn the loss of members on both sides of this particular argument. I am disappointed that the owners didn't intervene.

I have made my position on this topic clear elsewhere. I hope that certain members will not be allowed to push their selfish and divisive agenda. I wont be commenting on this any further.

Priorities

As I mentioned earlier, my priority now will be on continuing to grow my business with Heidi.

Our site continues to grow and after a few months of struggle to get traffic and problems to be overcome, we are now starting to see a real growth in our organic traffic.

I want to particularly thank Jay for his recent trainings on SEO and content ranking which have been hugely beneficial and made a big difference to the rankings we are getting with our content. (Tip - if you want Google traffic, watch the last 2 months of Jays webinars and then put it into practice).

It's a pity the webinars take place during the night in my time zone but I will make an effort to join one live in the near future.

I also want to thank several of our fellow WA members for sharing their own tips and experiences with both Heidi and I in various ways. (Mike, Grace, Raymond, Tiffany and Marion) Learning from people who have achieved some of the things you want to achieve is invaluable.

We have made sales of our own products and affiliate products, and made real progress with our social media strategy and email list building strategy too. As our traffic continues to grow we want to maximise the benefits of that and continue to build our business.

I had planned several trainings and pieces of content to add to WA but it makes much more sense to put this into our website content and YouTube channel.

This is Not Goodbye

I have no plans to leave WA any time soon. The website hosting and training is worth the membership fee alone.

However I will be much less active here.

I will always support everyone who has supported me. If I can help anyone - I will.

One of the best ways for us all to help each other is to support each others social media accounts. It costs nothing to follow, like, share or comment on your WA colleagues' content, but it can make a big difference to the success of their efforts.

You can find all of mine in my WA profile. I will fully support everyone who supports me.

Good luck to everyone with your business building. Let's support each other along the way.

Hi Dave, thank you for the insight. I thank you for the help you have always extended to everyone of us. You have been kind and very helpful. You have to do what you feel is important.

I think those who have become ambassadors that have given meaningful help to those who actually needed help, should be incentivized, so they will feel valued. So every ambassadors will try keep that ranking! It’s a thought. Not sure what kind of incentive that will not break the bank WA.

I’m still fairly new here, but it sounds like you’ve had an amazing journey over the last 12 months at WA. Sorry to hear that you feel like you need to step down though. I wish you all the best and hopefully we’ll still see you around :-)

I hate to see you spend less time here but at the same time I understand your reasons.

I've noticed since I joined there appear to be cycles where the atmosphere becomes negative then slowly swings back with a more positive tone.

It is wonderful that you and Heidi's business is going so well - that is really where you need to focus your time and energy. If only there were more hours in a day!

Here's to successful business building!

Susan

Hey there Dave, I just happen to pop into the community and see this post today. I don't spend that much time here either myself. even though I never made it to the Ambassador level. I was bouncing around in the 50s then my time here decreased and now I am sitting at about 145.

That is fine with me and I don't intend to actively try to achieve a higher ranking. If I do, it's only because I might put up a progress blog or two up and maybe another training if I see a need. There are so many training lessons up already, I really don't see what else I can possibly add. But, then again we never really know.

Wise choice to focus on your business more as that is the real reason most of us are here. I look forward to the occasional posts from you and will contact you if I need to.

I wish you and Heidi well on your business and look forward to seeing you on social media as well.

Congrats for the 100 days also!

Bob

Dave, from what I know just being in the top 200, let alone the top 100 which I made for a very short while, at the end of the day your business must come first, apart from live chat and my twice weekly WA blog, mine certainly does now. All the best mate.
Stay safe.
Stuart
