Are you in isolation still and how do you handle being in that each day.

Where do i begin. Being an event coordinator and a food truck booking co, i was 80% out on the road. All cane to a scretching halt.
Yes i do much of my work on my laptop but staying home everyday has definitely caused some mental unbalancing. I fight fight the depression every day, so i am overall fighting back!

I have three kids so they keep me busy and our schedule is the same every day. I have been a stay at home mom for years, so this isn't too much different....well except I go out even less now. Once every two weeks for groceries.

How are you guys doing?

Thanks for sharing, Anna.
We are doing really well.
As we have worked from home for the past 17 years not much has changed.
We have learned many new ways of doing new things, cooking from scratch for a start.
We will keep doing this once we pass through this season.
Have a great week.
Darren :)

I've been in my room for much longer than you think. I ended up getting C-dif so quaranteed myself, then along came this terrible virus, so it has been weeks. I do enjoy my room though and my little great grandchildren come in and play once in a while, so I don't get too too lonely. PTL
Are you guys doing OK?

Thanks for your comment, Lou.
I hope you are well very soon.
We are good, the government here in Australia have been very direct in putting social distancing and staying at home in place.
This has seen this virus flatten out a little.
All the best.
Darren :)

Most people in Ohio seem to be following the rules and staying home. Streets are empty and only those who have to get to a job are on the highway. It seems spooky at first, but then we turn to appreciation that people are minding our Governor and President.
Stay well.

Lou

Thanks for the update, Lou.
Stay safe and I wish you all the best.
Darren :)

Our state has a stay-at-home order in place. It's been just over a week, it seems a lot longer. It was supposed to end April 7th but now they are saying there's a possibility of being extended to late April.

Being an introvert and having a home business I'm used to being home. If anything now I don't want to go out, I find that stressful.

Thanks, Mickey.
We are facing the same here.
When I do have to go out for supplies it is a very different feeling.
I have always enjoyed working from home.
Darren :)

Same here, I've always enjoyed working from home. I feel truly blessed to be able to.

Darren for me it's a breeze check out my bio I have been in a sort of isolation for 12 years now so this is nothing new. I have my day aide pick up items for my dinners and such and then I instruct her on how I like them cooked or prepared. This does take time, grocery list has to be done the recipe has to be followed per my verbal instruction because everything is in my memory. I spent 11 years in a nursing home so all my old recipes books were long-lost, it keeps my memory sharp you could probably use me like a dart LOL. or it's smoking a cigar on my patio and enjoying the day while I think.

Joe

Thanks, Joe for sharing your experiences.
I wish you the very best.

As we may be heading into isolation here and with some of you already in isolation, what are your best business tips for making the most of this time.

For me, I had to stop looking at the news. I was becoming too obsessed with it. You need to try to stay focused on the tasks at hand. I'm now working on content, training, and social media. Plus, of course our home business.

I wish you all the best. The governor here announced earlier that our stay at home order will probably be extended. Oh well, it is what it is.

Stay safe,
Mickey

Thanks, Mickey.
Cutting out the news is a good call, it is way to negative.
All the best with your time in isolation.
We are not there yet.
Darren :)

At the moment we are allowed to go for short walks keeping safe distances from others, so my short walk is to my allotment, literally 5minutes walk from my home. Exercise is digging and preparing the land for planting.
Returning home, sharing time with WA and normal household 'duties'. Generally trying to keep busy, with short breaks.
Stay safe and well.
Wilson

Thanks, Wilson.
All great tips to get us through this season.
Darren :)

I do a list of things I want to achieve, I also number them with the task I least like doing first.

Work for short periods, eg, 45-60 minutes then take a break and do something totally different. Doing this 4 - 6 times a day can be more effective than trying to sit there all day working on your business.

Put measures in place to automate your business as such as possible, create options, email campaigns etc.

Trust this helps :)

Martin

All fab advice Martin

Thanks, Catherine :)

Thanks, Martin.
Great advice.
Darren :)

Set a schedule of tasks the night before & take regular breaks.

Great advice, thanks for sharing.

I was wondering what your number one strength would be.

What is the main strength that you have that has helped you.

Mine is discipline, I have always used this str

I have 2 they are faith and hope. I never give up no matter how bad it gets I just can't, my character or my brain either one, not sure which, just won't let me. I've tried boy I've gotten so down, at times, but just as soon as I get there this hope and faith rises up and overtakes me as if it is alive and possesses me. It is the funniest thing.

Having faith and hope is very strong strengths.

Well from a WA perspective I try to commit to welcoming new members and new premium members. I join in with comments (like this), I comment on websites, I read everything, I try to provide value through my posts and my site. I watch all videos, I thank those who are following me, I thank and reply to all comments. I know and admit to weaknesses and improve my knowledge where it is lacking. I smile.

Good post, Dave.
I try to do the same.

Much effort and fearlessness can be attained by the greatest fear that a human being suffers from is death and indeed everyone knews that he will die when I worry about all I can and I do not mean if I succeed or if Isucceed feel free and greet you all

I am sure we will all have something to offer here.

That is a really tough question Darren.

So I guess work is a necessary evil.
And family and my own well being (gym/run) would come in 2nd and whats left I would like to dedicate to my online business. Those are the priorities at this time.

It is so hard to balance everything. You know you need to put the work into the business to get it started however you need that fulltime job to keep up with the bills.

Well I don't even know if I made sense. Tough question and food for thought!
Wanda

Hello, Darren. Good question. When I am free from caring for my ailing wife and all that involves, such as housekeeping, shopping, Dr. visits, and as it happens, finishing a book I have been working on for almost a year, I am on my computer, trying to digest this online thing. One confession, I do take time for some football games, Pro and Collegiate, but that's soon behind me. Our Tennessee Titans play this Sunday for a chance to play in the Super Bowl. It's my weakness.

Thanks, Earl.
All the best for the Titans this Sunday.
Darren :)

Thank you, Sir.

My work/life balance is a little different since we homeschool our 3 adopted grandkids.

Mon - Thu consists of morning work/homeschool, then a little afternoon work. Evenings we spend time together as a family.

Fridays are field trip days.

Sat - Sun are usually family time or chores

Cheers,

Michael

Thanks, Michael.
All the best.
Darren :)

Not sure I have balance but this is mine;)

12 hours work (home and elsewhere)
8 hours sleep
4 hours family, cooking, cleaning, etc.

I always take breaks, especially on the weekend to watch a movie with my kids or have dinner with friends. That is my recharge button 😁

Have a great day!

Hey Darren and Nicola
You guys are blessed to be able to work together. My dream.
I try to get all the housework done first thing in the morning after my wife leaves for work.
Then I write an article and post.
Then, if there is time left before dinner preparations begin, I will spend some time here,
I try to have all work done before my wife gets home so I can dedicate the evening to time with the most important woman in the world.
Early to bed, early to rise, we work out together, and the day begins again.
I take the weekends off of all work of any kind to be present with my wife.
Thanks for asking
Have a great day!
