I have two websites, one where I promote WA and my Niche site. There's a post I've written on my WA site that I want to take and move to my Niche site.

Is this possible

What John suggested is the best route. I have used the 301 redirect plugin and it was simple and easy.

excellent, thanks for verifying!

Already answered. Has it worked?

I've only recently published, so we will see in a bit!

Looks like you have some good answers here

Yeah! I got some great options

Great question and great answers! Personally, I like the paraphrasing approach so that you can keep both posts but the technical approach is good to know to switch the post to another site. Great stuff!

I think I'll do the paraphrasing and see how it ranks!

Good info.

Marty

Paraphrasing will help

Move it to your other site. Then go to Google Webmaster Tool and

Remove URL and CACHE

Do same in Bing.

Also, do a 301 redirect from your old site to the new site.

John

Thank you! You've done this before?

Yes. For re-direct, use the plugin "Simple 301 Redirects"....it's simple
Important is to remove URL from old website in Google and Bing

I did it! Had to search how to, but figured it out. Thanks again!

Just paraphrase the content here and there after you copy it to your niche site. No more duplication.

Is it really that easy to do? I'm not sure I want to risk that! :-D

Google's algorithm may seem smart, but not that smart. Programs can only compare string comparisons (i.e., text to text) and check if they're identical, As long as your text is not identical verbatim, Google can't really tell. The more paraphrases you make (e,g, changing an adjective here and there), the less likely Google can tell. Even altering the order of words or sentences would the trick as well.

there is a lot in the post that I have to change, so it should go over pretty well. I will still delete it off the other site, I'm considering even closing that one up since I want to focus 100% of my energy on my niche site

I'm wondering if there's a way to message my non-premium referrals en masse about the Black Friday opportunity?

Marion's got it!
Ed

Learning from Marion's response.

Marions response is the way to go, thanks for the question has me thinking about helping and managing referrals over all.

Thanks for bringing up a subject I can learn from.

The only way you can contact your non-premium referrals is by leaving a comment on their profile page. The quickest way would be to copy and paste the same message. It's entirely up to them if they return to their profile page and read the message. If they haven't blocked WA emails then they'll get an email to let them know that a comment has been left on the profile page.

Thanks for responding! I thought that might be the answer. That would be a great feature to have here, since I don't have an email catching auto responder yet. I'll do the copy/paste.
Thanks again!

I don't know the answer to that one sorry but would be interested to find out myself so thanks for bringing it up.

I think this problem may be connected, and refers to my site findingblissinthechaos.com
First of all, I have somehow lost my home page. When the banner is clicked or the url

You need to activate EXCERPTS. Check in Theme options and set to 'display excerpts". Then go to a post in edit mode, click on screen options (right upper corner next to help, below your noggin') and check the box EXCERPTS. That adds a field below the editor, above the SEO area. There you handcraft your short excerpt.

John

Go back to your dash board.
Appearances> menu

Go to Appearance>Menu

Create a new menu Item (Custom link) and enter your website URL

Then drag it in the position on your Menu and rename it Home, or whatever name you choose.

Then go to Appearance>Theme Options and find the post settings and set to Excerpt.

The summery in settings is only for RSS feed

John

Woot! The first bit got my home page back, thank you!
I'm not seeing that option under Theme in Appearance... it might be my theme, I'm using Sela. I'm going to try using the tag I found to do it manually, or what jvranjes suggests.

Adding the <!--more--> tag in the text editor where I wanted the page break worked!

We are talking about blog roll

I'm having this same problem. There doesn't seem to be a "theme options" choice under appearance. ??

I also agree with PJ I had to change my theme as it did not support this function

I agree with PJ and the video, but if this doesn't work you may have to change your theme as I had to do many times.I hope not because it's a great theme. Good luck.

Dara, Your theme may simply be lacking the "Home" menu option.

Please review this video, it may help you discover what you're after:

Go to Appearance, Menus and search for Home page there, then add to menu. it will appear on the right-side in the menu. Then save the menu.

Go through your posts and add "read more' after first paragraph, save, publish (update) etc. You will have your blog roll.

Home page is back!! Yahoo!
I tried a few permutations of the "read more" but it wasn't working, so I went to text instead of visual and added the <!--more--> tag where I want the page break Worked beautifully!
Thank you so much for the help!

Great to heart that. Good luck.

I don't see a home page either ...are you full at the top with the options?

I don't know why I didn't think to look at plugins! Duh :-) I just installed "Simple Follow Me Social Buttons" because you can customize them a lot. I'm using hex F25F70 throughout one of my sites so I was tickled to see that I can choose that for my buttons!

Thank you Harry and Loes--sounds like a sitcom. Great sources.

If buttons will work, I use "addtoany." They work great! They are located at the bottom of each post.
Ed

Try designschool.canva.com. They give you a list of 49 sites for free icons. Hope you find what you're looking for.

Loes to the rescue!!

As soon as I read your question, I knew Loes would have an answer for you :-)

Nice, thanks a bunch Loes!

Gladly shared, when you visit my workathomefuture website, you will find 181 amazing free online website tools!

Hi Dara, I use "add to any share" by add to any share. The icons do not show until you mouse over it and then they are all available.

It isn't the cute look but does save room on your page.

Marty:)

I've just finished Lesson 2 of Course 3, and have created a new post targeting one new keyword. I went for a "low hanging fruit" keyword that looked great in the keyword tool.

Google serps shows all similarities to the keyword or keyword phrases. wa and jaaxy keyword tool removes all similarities and gives you actual keyword results.

Interesting! Thanks for the quick response

Thanks Jeffrey! I'll watch that today :-)
