Has anyone ever read "The Science of Getting Rich" (or listened to the audio) by Wallace D. Wattles? If so, did you find it helpful? Are there any points that you found novel

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. This is also true when it comes to self help books. The information is good. The reader however needs to be ready for change. Like when you approach someone about WA.
If they are ready to make some changes they join you. If the timing is not right they do not join. That does not make WA not good, it is the timing. It is the same with self help books. If one is truly ready they will get the message if not they will not get it.

I personally read several self help books years ago when I started out.
I got nothing or very little from them. Then a few short years later, I read the same books again (Recommended by my mentor) and WOW! I asked myself "How did you miss that", the answer was, I was not ready. I hope this helps Dan.

Yes I own SOGR in audio and text, as well as many other self help books. Everyone must have a personal development strategy in place to achieve their biggest goals and successes.

Thanks for your response Ken. Now that you find yourself more receptive to this type of literature what would your recommendations be?

I recommend that, everyone trying to have successes in any
field, online or offline help at least one person a day with your
best advice, learn something new every day and spend at least
one hour per day on personal development. There are so many options to choose from. One of my mentors, may he rest in peace,
(Jim Rohn) would have said pick what works for you, everyone
has their own personality. It is not one size fits all. Just take action.

Personal development starts with you. Think and Grow Rich, The Science of Getting Rich. These are great books. If reading does not appeal to you now. Go to youtube and listen to Jim Rohn, Tony Robbins, Zig Ziggler. You will discover what works best for you.

Great advice Ken! As the scriptures remind us, "It is more blessed to give than to receive."

Yes Dan, the best Book of them all.
If more people would take the time to read this Book they would not need to read any other book. This Would be my first recommendation on a personal level, however. I do not mix Christianity and business. There are far to may other religions which I respect. Free Will.
That being said my business is Christian based God is my only boss.

I'm currently reading the New Science of Getting Rich by Mr. Wattles.

Hi Shirley - thanks for the follow! So what do you think so far?

I'm on chapter 13 and love the part about gratitude. No problem with that, but I'm having a hard time with the visualization which disturbs me because I always thought I was not a right brain person, but my practicality is kicking in making it hard to believe. I feel like I'm a child thinking over and over ..;.. I do, I do, I really do believe in faeries!

I have read "think and grow rich" and many other such self help books and I have come to the conclusion that these type of books are read by millions of people all over the world

But what is also true, is that very few people have the deep desire to do what it says in books like this, and make the necessary sacrifices in order to become successful in life
When we see an athlete win a gold medal, we never see all the sweat, pain, and sacrifices they make to win a gold medal

These types of books are very popular and fly off the shelves but one amazing statistic is this
Only 5% of people who buy self help products ever even open the product or book they purchased
Maybe the book should be called "Do stuff and then grow rich"

Barry

Unfortunately Barry, you are correct.
Also less than 1 % of those that open it
take any action.

great points Barry,

it is one thing to buy the book, it is another to read it, it is yet another to apply it.

at the end of the day it is not what one knows that matters, it is what one does that matters

the same principle is at work here in the world of affiliate marketing
- there are those who know what to do
- there are those who do what needs to be done

all the best

Hi Dan,

Interesting, never heard of this author, one learns something every day, from personal experience I did some courses with John Kehoe, when he still did tours, read his books.

The other author I enjoyed reading was Ben Sweetland but it is difficult to find his books.

PS All these books are great however you need to apply the knowledge taught within to derive the benefit.

Before The Secret and before Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill, Wallace D Wattles wrote "The Science of Getting Rich" in 1910. Since reading it I have posted an excerpt from the last chapter on my computer desk cupboard to remind me every day of his wonderful words. I count my blessings every day with gratitude and believe that everything that has happened to me has made me a better person. ~Marion

Yes Marion, written in 1910 and still very relevent today.
I have many millionaire friends who attribute a lot to this book.
I have the Audio and the PDF ebook.

I have read "The Science of Getting Rich" in whole and in part several times. Needless to say that since I re-read it that I find value in the material in the book.

One expression in the book that has been particularly helpful is:
"The whole process of mental adjustment and attunement can be summed up in one word: Gratitude."

If ever you are feeling down, just stop and thnk, "I am so happy and grateful now that ... " and fill in the blank.

all the best,

It was written in an earlier simpler time.
But is is an excellent book.

Yes I own it in audio as well.
