Got the Message

It's been a roller-coaster ride here at WA for me. I can't tell you how many times I've tried to be active on here but it always backfires. I'm sure there's many things that come to play here.

I am who I am and am at the level I'm at, trying to grow, trying to be a better person. Only the most mature and discerning people see me for who I really am and see the value I can offer in a "pay-it-forward" environment like this. These people are indeed on here and they become my friends and I befriend those of you. I have personally met one of them last year!

Why do I keep trying and it just goes in cycles like this? When will I learn? This is not new. Participation to me, is disappointing, and sometimes stressful when I make a fool of myself. I don't have what it takes. I have no wherewithal to partake in discussions about what WA is all about, in spite of all the years I've been here. My blogging and going onto others' blogs must cease. It's not doing anyone, nor myself any good.

Many of the responses I get in matters of affiliate marketing and the WA platform do not cast a very good reflection on my integrity. I must assume that integrity isn't really there and I get the message. I'm not part of the mainstream on here and don't think I will ever be. For that which I originally came to WA for, that alone is what I should be pursuing, and otherwise, just be silent, else I'm trying to make more of myself than who I really am - and that sticks out like a sore thumb. I'm a slow learner but I eventually get the message with things, even though I have to try something far more than I should before I learn.

Daniel - I totally get what you're saying. I figure if somebody wants or needs my help, then they'll ask and I'm more than happy to do what I can for them.

It is rare I post anymore and my ranking is dropping to reflect this. Then again, most of the people who have been here for years are not ranked high because they focus on their business. (No - I'm not talking about those who are ambassadors and have been here forever.)

The training here at WA is more than enough to get anybody started and successful with IM. But you watch - somebody will respond to this either in public or via PM to tell me how wrong I am. Got plenty of this at a 9-to-5; don't need it in my own business.

But you know what? When folks respond to a blog or question with negativity, or with a "how stupid are you?" or with a "I know more than you" type of attitude, I really think it reflects more on them and their own insecurities.

Unfortunately, most people mistake kindness for weakness. I am not one of those people and know you to be very kind. I respect your input here and think you are gracious and helpful.

God Bless!
~Cathy

Hey Daniel, I've always found what you have to say to be extremely helpful and well thought out. You seem to be a lovely caring person with a great heart. I, for one, would like to see you continue doing what you're doing :)

Hi Daniel,

The qualities of introspection, insight and humility that you display are to be valued in our society, so don't beat up on yourself unnecessarily, you are an important member of W.A.

Whether others consider you to be part of the in- group or the out-group, is of no consequence, just be yourself.

~Arthur

Hey Daniel,
You are your own man and you have a lot to offer. Some of the most successful affiliates are ranked in the 100s because they are taking care of their business.
There are many ground breakers that traveled to the beat of a different drummer and I have respect for the individualist. I hope I have some of that in me.

Marty

Hi Daniel, you have given more than you know and I have greatly appreciated your gut level honesty. Don't beat up on yourself. Always enjoy your blogs of insight.

Don't worry about being part of the mainstream. Remember losers congregate in groups while winners forge ahead on their own.

It's not high-school. Be happy with yourself.

This is exactly why I've written this blog. It couldn't be any closer than you've just stated in practically two lines. I could name a large number of people who have done exactly that you've said.

Hey Daniel
Don't knock yourself there have many a time that you have come to my rescue with some helpful tips and advice. We are all cogs in the WA wheel without it we would not able to move

If I had the income and performance to back me up that would show for all the time I've been here, then I'd feel much better about getting in there and discussing IM.

Untrue. All that you are is far more than you see or realize! Every person here at this time is extremely valuable. It's just that we often get lost in 'a moment'... and we forget who we Divinely are. Keep sharing! More are receiving your messages on levels that you cannot imagine.

That is certainly true for me as well, but for the most part, this lies outside of serious discussion about affiliate marketing and aspects of this industry.

I'm very sure it's "other things" that I get well received on here, but it almost always is off topic to what's here. That will, and does touch others in such a large audience but it does little good in the wake of what's here. This is what I'm talking about.

I have been told numerous times to go to Facebook with stuff that I bring up, that this isn't the right place for it.

Well - I deleted my Facebook account two weeks ago and it is now very close to being permanently deleted. Good riddens!

Hey Daniel; I'm fairly new to WA, but it took me a bit to learn the ways and get the message.
You've been here 6 years?! MAN I only WISH I had been here that long! Your rank says a lot about you too. You don't get there without a lot of work. My hat goes off to you.
So, you're a 'slow learner'. So what. You still learned obviously. With what you know about WA, you could teach a lot of us how to get over the bumps and potholes in the road. Think about what you know and what you've learned then, when a question comes up that you know the answer to, JUMP on it. Your word skills are good, so nobody should have any problem understanding you. You, Sir, are a premium asset to all in the WA family.

Here is a pothole. Just because someone is high ranking, does not mean that person knows very much, or even worse, has little in the way of progress to show for being in the position they are in insofar as the ranking is concerned. I was at #3 at one point during my time here. It was at a time when WA was definitely smaller.

I have high ranking because of the amount of content I have on here. Much of this content, as it always has been, does not address the things for which WA stands. I can't speak on those things because I'm not developed in them even at this stage of the game.

I'm looking at this in all practicality and in reality. I know the ranking system serves purposes, but I personally don't like it because, in my opinion, the Ambassador system should do two things - award those who are very active and helpful on here - but another important aspect - those who have demonstrated that they have successfully implemented what they have learnt on here, or at least, have become successful affiliates (super affiliates) and have the income to back them up.

Someone made a very good point about this on a blog I absented myself from - in fact more than one point, which didn't surprise me one bit...

1. Some on the Ambassador list are barely making a dime but are adept at socializing. Some of course can demonstrate their ability to make an online income at affiliate marketing. The ratio given had a pretty drastic numbers and really who knows? One thing is certain. There are those that can help but don't have the income nor experience and there are those otherwise.

2. The other point was - people look up to Ambassadors and assume they are all role models of those who are actually successful - and are not in reality. This gives false impressions, especially to the new people coming in.

When I was on the Ambassador List, I was barely making any money online.

Some people get on there because they socialize much, much more. Others get on there because they actually have something to show for in their online income progress and aptitude for this industry. I've seen a number of people get on there because they have gamed the system. Kyle, Carson and team have perfected this system that pretty much kills the gaming attempts.

However I think this putting up training modules without citing their work and backing it up with valid resources is real and some of these folks are out there to get the $5 benefit that comes with training.

I don't put up training anymore because I know there are others that are qualified to do it. I am not, so I don't.

This was yet another argument that came up in that blog. Things I had to say, once again a certain individual popped up and refuted nearly everything I said. He makes more money than some doctors do. I have not made a sale yet this year. I'm the fool. I simply took down my comments to retract them.

Thanks for the honesty, Dan. I'm not the best, but I try. For me, the hardest part is to not get lazy. I tend to procrastinate and that gets me all out of sorts when I try to get back in the game.
sorry to hear the way things are with you. Take care, my friend and know that you are loved by all.

Hi Daniel. Thank you for the sobering sentiments based on an extended membership. Gives us plenty of food for thought.

Duncan

Daniel, you said it all so perfectly "I am who I am"; that is who you are supposed to be. There is no set rule as to 'when' you are expected to learn something....you participate by being an active member. By being active, I mean following the training and doing what YOU need to be doing to achieve your success. When we have a problem, we post it and others give helpful response....some do not. Some actively comment, others do not. Each person is individual in their own way, I happen to enjoy your expressions of your individuality. Don't get lost in people pleasing, or doing what you think others expect of you.

All I can do at this point, is just be happy and satisfied with who I am and continue to try to grow, and to count my blessings every day.

Having a problem with something and seeking help is one thing. Trying to be helpful when the help one can give is inferior or even non-existent is yet another. It's this type of thing I'm talking about.

I find myself too many times, on other people's blogs, trying to give advice when it hasn't been asked for, but I've felt would be helpful for the topic at hand. Too many times this kind of thing is not well-received.

This is what needs to stop. There are others that know just the right thing to say and often can say it in just a few words.
