The Truth About Wealthy Affiliate's Starter Membership

Last Update: April 26, 2020

Many people seem to think that the Starter membership at Wealthy Affiliate is free.

But is it really?

You see, web hosting costs money... Yet as a Starter member, you get the ability to host a website (without any payment whatsoever) as part of your free membership.

So if your Starter membership is free, then how is that possible?

The answer is that in reality, Wealthy Affiliate covers the cost.

Yep, that's right. It may be free to you as the end user, but the cost of getting your website online & keeping it hosted is literally being covered for you by Wealthy Affiliate.

More specifically, Kyle & Carson.

And the reason I decided to put this post together mentioning that is because I sometimes feel people don't truly see just how much value they're getting in the Starter membership.

They don't see what an amazing opportunity they're being provided with, when they actually have the whole of the community & the platform itself invested in their success.

So if you're a Starter member here at WA I want to urge you to take full advantage of what you have, because the truth is that it's an opportunity that you may realistically never get again.

At the very least, be sure to complete the lessons & build out your website.

Don't just "throw in the towel" without even going through the lessons. Instead, appreciate what you have, put it to good use, and who knows where you could end up.

In 6 months or a years time you might find yourself writing a success story like this:

So, if you are a Starter member, are you going to take full advantage of your membership?

I truly hope you are, and I truly hope I see your success story in the months/years to come.

Thanks, Dale. I'm certainly not doing so well. I have problems getting my site coordinated with social media. About the only thing I am doing is copying posts in Word, and pasting it in Facebook.
I just can't seem to grasp how to connect the others (Instagram, Pinterest, and Twitter). I watch the videos and read the material, but I guess I must be dense.

Hi Earl,

May I suggest that you look at Jay's training Social Media: When you are finished, search out some more training videos with Jay.

Do not give up.
Everything you need to succeed is right here at WA.

Whoops, I missed the notification for this comment, my apologies for the delayed response Earl.

Cassi shared some excellent training already I see.

To be honest, if posting to social media (or trying to) is proving to be too time-consuming, I would just channel the efforts into adding content to your site instead. Master search engine rankings first, then once you get the rankings & traffic, then you can begin trying to master social media.

Search engine traffic will always convert much higher than social traffic overall anyway because through search engines you're tapping into people that are already searching for something (and you just have to provide the right fit for their needs).

I started off on the free plan just over 2 years ago. I completed the training available and then went premium. I have never regretted that decision and am actually very thankful that I made it.

I have learned so much here at WA, not just about building websites, but about the net in general.

WA is incredible value.

Hey Dale,
So very true the Starter membership offers a lot of value! Wealthy Affiliate not only provides that free website and hosting, but they also tell you step by step how to get it set up in the first place.

When I joined here years ago, I'd not been expecting to get anything like this. Most, well...all of the other places I'd checked out always wanted you to pay something before giving you anything besides a lot of hot air...even though they said "free" training, etc. I suppose that "training" was the hot air they made you read or watch videos about, and still not learn anything, lol.

Anyways, once I joined here, I was amazed at how much they offered at the price of nothing for me. I definitely agree that Starter members should at least give it a try and go through those lessons to set up their free website...plus, there's so much opportunity here to learn many new skills thanks to Kyle and Carson, it'd be a shame not to at least try.

Thanks for sharing, Dale. Excellent points for those starting out to realize what they're being given here.
Best wishes :) ~Sherry

Hey Dale,

Agree, the Starter Membership has in my opinion, an excellent opportunity to get new members online business to success. Giving up, "throwing in the towel" and not even completing the lessons make absolutely no sense.

Kyle and Carson really want to see us succeed. When I joined Wealthy Affiliate's free Starter Membership, I realized I was getting a whole lot more than what I thought I would be getting.

It's FREE, take advantage of those free lessons and do all the tasks. New starter members could be in for some very pleasant suprises and rewarded for all their hard work.

Thank you, Dale, I enjoyed reading your blog.
