Nurturing VS Nuturing
Nurturing VS Nuturing
So I decided the name of my website was too long, so I went to purchase a new domain.
I sat there thinking up names for my website with Mum offering suggestions over Facebook Messenger. I wanted a .com site, so I was checking the availability of each of our suggestions.
I came up with Nurturing Nature, it sounded fantastic, excitement was building. I shared it with Mum, she thought it was perfect, getting more excited now, so I did my search on it, and to our amazement it was available, Im almost bursting with excitement now.
So I tell Mum I'm going to purchase the domain, as I am putting in credit card details, Mum is trying to call me, I don't answer as Im so excited to be getting this domain, I don't want to miss out. Then Facebook Messenger pops up, its Mum. The message simply says STOP. So I stop entering the credit card details and call Mum.
So the domain I was about to purchase was actually spelt Nuturing Nature, I had mis spelled Nurturing!!! Of course Nurturing Nature was not available either. However a really good lesson in Spell Checking your work, at all times, especially at these critical moments like naming your domain!!! Excitement bubble burst!

we've all been there! I had to double check 3 times. Especially when you are surprised it is available. So glad your Mum stopped you and I hope you found an equally brilliant alternative?
Great lesson learned. Good thing mom caught it and saved you a few bucks. It can happen to anyone. Thanks for sharing Daisy.
Excitement I can only imagine. It looks like Mum saved you going ahead.
Is Vickie your Mom. If so. Just want to let you know Vickie is awesome and she rocks too.
Makes my day if you are Mom and daughter xx

Hi Daisy
Someone wrote a post here in WA around domain name misspells and I hope they share the link with you.
I can't remember who it was now but some of the titles were hilarious, not to mention wrong - lol
at least you sorted it before you spent the cash.
Onward and Success Daisy- You rock :)
Thanks for sharing Daisy. I get the excitement of finding a URL and how easy it is to miss something in the detail. Fortunately domains don't cost a lot of money and sometimes other people also misspell words. IO have heard of corporations who buy domain names that are similar to their own because if someone does get it wrong, you could get 100% of that traffic. Worst case scenario you could then also get the one you want and link the incorrect one to it, so all traffic then goes to the same site.
Thanks, Luigi
That's interesting about the corporations!
Thank you for sharing
Kind Wishes

Good Morning Daisy,
Oh, dear me. Spelling was never my forte and English is not my mother tongue. I am happy Grammarly helps me but they are not always right either. There will always be a small risk when writing.
In your case it would have been bad, good your Mum found out about it on time.
Greetings from the south of Spain, Taetske
Grammarly is amazing but yes I do find myself querying it at times.
I'm usually great at spelling, I think the excitement got the better of me.
Have you had to learn English? It's not easy to learn.
Lovely to hear from you as always
Kind wishes
Daisy
Yes, I had to learn English. 3 Months in Westgate on Sea for my lower Cambridge and 6 Months at Pax Hill education center in Bentley near Farnham for my proficiency Cambridge, I was 16 at that time. I have always been bad at spelling in all languages., but I managed to learn 6 and now I make a cocktail.
