Hi WAfamily,

I just want to take this opportunity to welcome everyone back to the platform after the new year celebrations.

Welcome to New year 2021 and the start of a new decade!. We are already 15 days into the New Year

My question to every member is what do you aspire to do differently this new year? Become a successful affiliate marketer. I hear you but why don’t you aspire to become a 1 percenter? What does it mean to be a 1 percenter?

What is the 1 Percent Rule?

To become a 1 percenter, you don’t have to be twice as good as your competitor. You just need to be slightly better than he is in case after case. These little advantages will compound over time and give you an accumulated advantage that puts you above the curve.

Examples of 1 Percent Rule

To become a 1 percenter in blogging, you only need to make your blogs more engaging so visitors would spend more time on your website, and more personable so they can relate. Remember the baseline: you are one of the best bloggers on the platform!

To become a 1 percenter in 100 meter dash, you only need to be 0.01 sec faster than the fastest runner. Pretty negligible. Just 0.01 sec to get the gold medal? But remember, you would have worked your tail off to become one of the fastest sprinters!

If you are an organization, you just need to be teeny weeny better than the other organizations to land the contract. But you would need to be one of the ten organizations shortlisted.

Why is it called Matthew Effect?

The 1 percent principle came straight from the pages of the Bible. It is based on the Parables of the Talents in Matthews 25:14- 30. A master left on a long journey and entrusted his property to his servants according to their abilities. To one he gave 5 talents, to the second he gave 3 talents, and to the third 1 talent.

On his arrival from his trip, the Master called all three servants to render accounts. The first and the second servants explained that they had each put their talents to work and have doubled the value of the property. He praised each of them profusely.

The third servant brought back the talent just as the master had given him. The master was curious and wanted to know why there was no increase in his portfolio. The servant explained that he knew his master to be vengeful and so decided to bury the talent so he would have it ready when the Master returned.

The Master was furious and asked that his one talent be taken away from him and given to the servant who already has ten. He went on to say:

.” For to everyone who has, more will be given, and he will have abundance; but from him who does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him.”

Benefits of a 1 Percenter position

Just like the servant who had ten talents and got additional talent from the recalcitrant servant, the 1 percenter is a winner takes all or winner takes most position. You got to keep all or most of the profits. That’s a further incentive for wanting to become a one-percenter.

Conclusion

The 1 percenter position is the most enviable one to be in. It calls for a lot of hard work upfront to get into the premier relative comparison position where your performance compared to those around you will determine your success.

In such a situation, thinking outside the box and an ability to add something subtle that differentiates you continually from the general mill will help propel you to the 1 percenter position.

I have seen a couple of 1 percenters since I joined Wealthy Affiliate. Such individuals come in from behind and before you know it, they are ahead of the pack in their 1 percenter positions

I have to say the work ethics of 1 percenter are worthy of emulation.

Do you know of any 1 percenter around you? What would you say helped propel them into the 1 percenter position?

I've heard the story in Matthew but not about the 1% er. Yes, I do know one. Practice, practice, practice. It's the only thing she's focused on. It's working too.

The Talents parable was used to show that the 1 Percenter position is a Winner takes All position. Stephen Covey said, "Private practice precedes public Victory"
Thank you for stopping by, Debbi. I appreciate

That's a great quote too!!!

Thanks for this post Dada. Yeah it would be great to achieve this status. I realize however that my happiness can be achieved in many other ways. Fortubately the WA platform can allow me to do both.

I hear you, General! I'm not sure you are in contention for that position! Thanks for stopping by. I appreciate your comment as always.

No, I am not, Dada, and am perfectly okay with that!😎

Would love to become a one percenter my own self, but unfortunately not there yet.

Having the desire is the first step! I can see you at the top! Thanks for your comment as always.
