Have you Eliminated Contradictions from your Evening Routine?

Just as you have a morning routine to kick start your day and get you started working on your goals, you need an evening routine to close out your day and lead you to bed. Your evening routine is important because it impacts your morning routine.

What of the night owl, you are prompted to ask? By night owl, I mean those members who have only the nighttime to work on their goals. I am afraid this write-up does not cover them.

The majority of entrepreneurs work on their goals during the day time. They start working on their goals as soon as they wake up and stay on them until the evening time when they retire home to be with their families. Some entrepreneurs deliberately carve out family time in their calendars so they don't get carried away by their business and forget.

This evening routine covers the period when you get home until when you finally go to bed.

At this time you are a little tired after working for so long on your goals. Take a rest and give your body time to recover from work and technology. Not taking time away periodically from technology could lead to burn-out.

Your body may start experiencing hunger and yearning for some fast food or high carbs and sugar. It may even be urging you to spend this time indulging in binge-watching movies and zoning off. Remember that your body is tired and is seeking a dopamine rush. Indulging in any of these urges will be in contradiction to that mental conception of yourself as a healthy and wealthy affiliate marketer that you have envisioned yourself to be. So it is in your best interest to deny the urge. It might take some effort on your part. Reach out for the last reserve of discipline if need be.

Instead, use this time for meditation or reflection on what you have accomplished during the day. It is a good time to bond with your family so you do not make entrepreneurship a solo affair. Relate your wins to your family and if possible, celebrate such wins with them.


This is a good time to prepare your tasks for the following day. Write the tasks in order of priority so you can begin to tackle them when you wake up the following day. If your first task is to exercise the following day, ensure you put gym materials near you. So that when you get off the bed, that’s the first thing you will see. That’s one less decision you will have to make and this heightens the possibility of your carrying out the task. Sometimes we do not engage in tasks because we suffer from decision fatigue. But if you had the decision made the night before it becomes easier to carry out.

Ensure you go to bed early. That old saying, “ Early to bed, early to rise” is true for all ages. If you go to bed early, there is a tendency, you will wake early and start working on your goals. If you go to bed late, you will certainly wake up late and that is not in alignment with your goal of becoming a successful online marketer.


Make sure you prepare your bedroom for a sound night's sleep. I like a soft mattress and pillows, no TV watching, no lights especially the blue light emitting from your laptop. I prefer my bedroom to be noiseless. I settle in bed and draw the covers over my head with my mind prepared for a refreshing night's rest.

Just before hitting the sack, I do one more thing. I make a request on my subconscious. I request some knowledge from my subconscious on how to tackle some tasks I would be working on the following day. Don’t be surprised if you wake up with a eureka moment the following morning!


It’s a good idea to always make a demand on your subconscious before you retire every night. When you do that, you allow the request to marinate in your subconscious and by the time you wake up the following day, the answer manifests in your consciousness!

Great tip Dada on asking our subconscious before we go to sleep. It really works.

I have never been a morning person. I thrive at night and work until I am too tired to think clearly. My schedule tends to revolve around the clock so I don't even know what my schedule will be in a few weeks time.

My 1 year old daughter is taking after me and now she is awake all need sleeping during the day. hahaha :-)

My only night afternoon routine is continue where I left off after taking a break with my family

I have both a morning AND evening routine. I do not allow electronics in my bedroom. No TV in there for me. I will read a book before bed to wind down from electronics that I've used almost all day.
