Early on in my Wealthy Affiliate journey, I got stuck. I can still remember the incident vividly. It was right at the point where I needed to turn over my website to Site comment for review comments.

How I got stuck

I had seen some beautifully designed websites and wondered how I would build one like that. My intention was to present a near-perfect website for review. In retrospect, it now reminds me of a perfectly healthy man going to the doctor for a medical check-up or a righteous man going to the priest for a confessional! Whoever does that? The perfection maniac that I am, I would not be satisfied with anything less than perfect.

I took off to Youtube site and started watching videos on “How to build a website.” I consumed video after video. The streak lasted for months on end without any tangible results to show for all the time spent.

I came off the video binge with valuable lessons I would like to share with our newbie community.

Valuable Lessons for the Affiliate

Take time to draw up your goals. It is important for you to draw up big, hairy goals that drove you to Wealthy Affiliate. Be crystal clear on what you want to accomplish and how you are going to do it. Make sure you put copies of this goal all over your home and office so you can see it all the time.See yourself accomplishing these goals in your mind’s eye. When you take your eye off the ball, it is your big, hairy goals that bring you back

Do not compare your level of success to others. We all have different personalities, backgrounds and baseline levels. I came in with zero knowledge of Web building; others came in with substantial knowledge in Coding, Programming and Web building. Our initial results will be different.

The only commonality binding us together is the big, audacious goal we all share of building a substantial business that will give us a passive income.

Affiliate Marketing is a Journey

Our mentors, Kyle and Carson want to make the journey easier for you and me. They have travelled the road before and designed Wealthy Affiliate to take you from your entry level irrespective of what it is and make you into a master marketer equipped with skills not only to build a website in any niche of your choice but monetize it. That’s a tall order considering the fact that we do not have the same threshold level.

They have done all the heavy lifting. All you need to do is keep your eyes on the ball and ensure you go from level to level with no level skipped. You do not need to distract yourself with another alternative affiliate marketing training. The training contained in the Online Entrepreneur Certification is enough to accomplish its set objective. .

How I got Unstuck

So how did I get unstuck?

Simple. Like the prodigal son in the Bible, I simply went back to the course and this time made up my mind to follow it step by step. What I went to YouTube to search for is right under my nose.

I posted my website on the Site Comment, got it reviewed the same day and checked it off as completed assignment.

A Word for the Affiliate stuck in his tracks

I don’t know about you but I am in Wealthy Affiliate for the long haul. I have a conviction that if I really apply myself and put in the effort required, I will build a sustainable business that will outlast me. And so will you.

To the newbie to Wealthy Affiliate, I would say, Do not allow yourself to be sold an inferior program at a superior price only to find out you have left the gold and settled for brass. Wealthy Affiliate is the gold!
