I was wondering if WA blogs can be about anything, or should they be on WA related topics?
Hi David,
You may post anything that you like at WA that is related to your experience at WA, your website, your business, questions, comments or anything at all related to Internet marketing.
You should not post any niche related content because that kind of content belongs on your own website. Any content published at WA will be deemed duplicate content if you post it elsewhere, so you don't want to post your website content here at WA.
Also, we have a strict no spam policy that you can read here:
Spam is a NO NO!
Hope this helps!

this addresses another question just asked by a member- who sees the WA blogs - from your response, google, because of duplicate content. But most of the blogs posted in WA seem to be people's niches on varied subjects. What about people linking these WA blogs to their websites, which also seems a strategy?
If we find that folks are linking to their websites from WA content with the intention to get a backlink, we will remove he content because this would fall under the no spam policy. Generally, linking back to your website is not allowed unless you are asking for feedback.
However we now have a system dedicated to getting and offering SiteFeedback here:

Posting content at WA about you niche makes that content useless for the user to use on their website as it will be duplicate content. There is no benefit in posting niche specific content at WA.

Thanks, that is much needed clarification as it seems things have been heading wildly in the opposite direction for quite some time here!
your question has provided clarification that I have never seen before and I think most people don't know what came up here today!
I've seen blogs on just about anything, sadly. I really do wish they were all more related to useful info, but sometimes they just turn into personal essays.
religion and politics are listed as not allowed - general rants are listed as fine, as people can blog about any niche and link that to their website, and spam is prohibited
there is an official list of rules...gets dragged out when people go too far into a prohibited hot topic...
the rules can be found in the search box under Open Education Project
Spam is a NO NO!
I'm still pretty new here so I could be wrong. I've seen topics not about WA though most are in some form related to online marketing. Since it's a personal blog I would say that most topics are fair game, other than offensive content (that's pretty broad but you know it when you see it or write it).
Anyone else feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

I am able to do it through blogger but I don't see a youtube option in the media section
Here's how to embed a video onto your site: Embedding A YouTube Video Onto Your Site
All of YouTube is pretty much up for grabs, and the creators will appreciate the views they get on your website!
Hi David
You don't actually upload Youtube videos, you just link to them and they will then appear as if part of your post or page.
To do this
1. Create the post or page in which you want the Youtube video to appear.
2. Go to Youtube and find the video you are interested in
3. Under the video Click Share
4. Then Click embed
You should then see a box with a line of code that starts <iframe and ends in </iframe>
5. Copy this line of code (Which is the address of the video)
6. Go back to the Wordpress editor and your post or page and paste this line of code into the editors main text area at the position that you want the video to appear.
7. Done Then just Publish or update as appropriate.
