I have several comments in my spam box. How do you tell the difference between someone visiting from WA and leaving a comment and spam? Is it really bad to approve spam accide
The standard setting for Akismet is if it has 2 or more links then it's spam. So if Akismet has marked it as spam it usually is 99.9% of the time. I hardly ever get false positives. Also Google does not like websites which link to rubbish, spammy websites. Don't get Google-slapped. ~Marion
Like Jean said and if they have links already attached they are linking to take your traffic for themselves.
In that case it is better to have no comments than the SEO seeing where those external links are heading.
One thing I have been wondering about all these 'links attached'. Attached where? Within the comment. If not in the comment where else?
By default, the username is automatically linked to the website URL that the commenter places in the Website field.
Once you publish the comment, you can hover over their name and you will see the commenter's website link at the bottom of your browser.
It's up to you whether to allow that website URL.. I leave it there if I know the commenter. If I don't know the commenter I may visit the site to make sure I want that backlink on my site. If I don't, I remove the URL via the comment edit field in WP. ~Jude
Thanks Jude. I usually check out their site in the comments area when I am looking at replying prior to publishing but this is a good check in case I have approved something accidentally.
If the comment has nothing to do with the subject of your content, I delete it. Even when it's from WA members, if it is not about the content, it's otta there. A comment has to be relevant. Comments like: "You write so well", "great site", " I like your site", etc. is spam.
Google doesn't like it. They want to see relevant comments, after all, it's adding to the content on the page.
Spam that's allowed to remain on your site attracts more spammers. Much of the spamming is being done by automated software (bots). Once a URL gets known for allowing spam comments to remain, other spammers, both human and bots, will take advantage of that situation.

Akismet can assist you better since it collects spam comments and notify you in advance, and it works better when you go for pro. If you donot have akismet plugin you may install it

When I run an SEO optimization check on my page, it comes back as a few things needing to be fixed. It says any affiliate links or even the share icons for social media need al
Basically the ALT tag is the text that co.mes up if you image fails to load. Without an alt tag, if the image fails to load it will just be a blank space.
Click on the image and then the little pencil edit thing. Then add your keyword you are targeting to alt text. Hope that helps.
Do affiliate links need alt tag?

Before I heard that changing the names in your URL was a big no no, I did it. How bad is it and can I fix it?
Not the domain name, but the page URL. I hope that makes since. So, I was watching the training and it said to make sure that each page or post has the keywords in it. When i started, I wasnt aware you could have a say in the page URL names. So, before finishing the video I was on, I went in and changed the URL's to each page and post. Of course when I hit play again it said NOT to do it if you have already posted them under a different URL.
You changed the URLs to each page and post?! What? How many is that? If you've already socially shared your previous URLs (posts and pages), then when people click on them, they won't get anything but an error, or a message saying that what they clicked on doesn't exist.
With the free siterubix domains it's no big deal. I don't think you can change the URL on a purchased domain without buying a new one.
I did something like that when course 1 mentioned to get your own domain, I bought one that was not .org, .com and didn't want to use it so I bought another one, so I now have two domains but could sell it if I want. Domains are pretty cheap so I don't think you have any worry there. I think Rich908 may have a better solution for you than buying a new domain.
Do you mean to say that when you "moved" your FREE site to a purchased domain, you changed the domain name then?
Good question - see if this helps

Plan B is to purchase another domain.

So, when using jaaxy, say for example I want to write about sleeping well with essential oils. When I use the keywords essential oils to sleep, it looks great, but when I type
From what I understand, as long as you do the keyword research (and I use the keyword tool included FREE, can't afford Jaaxy), and use the keywords in order, both in the title of your post and in the first paragraph, it doesn't matter if they're in the beginning, the middle, or the end of a sentence. Someone correct me if I'm mistaken.
Maybe a little off topic, but its always amazing to me how jaaxy helps me find keywords I ranked for that I didn't target. Sometimes they are better than my targeted keywords! Oh well what can you say!
look in site rank on jaaxy...then enter variations of your key words...then try other terms...play with it some...works better the older your site is
Awesome, thanks. I've just been using the keyword. It's strange because one day it could be ranked on page 3, the next day it's not even on the top 20, but the next day it's like page 7! Darn google!
Lol , yes it can be nerve racking...I thing rankings change quite a bit for some posts each day, for others they barely move..fun to watch!
Thank you. I was planning on using essential oils to help you sleep, but in the body I would probably write using essential oils to help you sleep a few times and didn't know if that would change the keywords google ranked you as.
Thank you for the link. I will check it out for sure!
Nice suggestion you've got there by Christa Elle. You might also want to check out the following post. Combining Keywords - Save Time, Rank More
Oh, essential oils, makes me...never mind...I think upsgirl answered your question so good luck with your keyword research!

Is there a good plugin to help make nice CTA's?
Since I did not know what CTA's was (call to action) I looked it up and found this link maybe a good one for you...
WordPress Calls to Action Plugin - YouTube(https://www.youtube.com ) -- let me know if it works, I might need to use it also.
