World travel Anyone?
I can remember when I was a teenage girl wanting to travel to such places as Paris, France, Rome, Italy, and Sydney, Australia to name just a few, but not so much that far away for me anymore. The problem is you have to fly to those places.
I flew once. It wasn't for me. I wasn't comfortable in such a confined little space for a long period of time. True I can be confined in a car, but I can always pull over and get out walk around a bit. Not so in an airplane.
SCENERY
Another thing, I can travel to any place that I now desire to see by car.It may take me longer, but oh can I see more. What do you see in a plane? Clouds. Lots and lots of clouds.
I can travel to Northwest Arkansas and see some of the prettiest landscape. There are places that I can pull off the road to take pictures.
I guess you could travel to Europe and Australia by ship, but I don't know if I would get seasick or not. I'll find that out next year about this time when my sister and I plan to take a Caribbean cruise.That is on my rather lengthy bucket list.
You see, I haven't traveled very much in my lifetime and the older I have gotten, the more places I want to see and take pictures because my describing where I have been, just doesn't do it justice.
WA COMMUNITY
Here at WA I have chatted with people from all over. Canada, Australia, Great Britain, Ireland and I think Scotland, all places that I'm sure are quite beautiful. I love reading your profiles when you are describing where you are from. The images you paint, dances through my mind. So go into great detail for this not-so-world-traveler.
WEBSITES
I am learning through reading others posts and questions that this is the way our websites should be, as descriptive as possible in order to sell the product or service. This is something that I am working very hard on. My niche is a certain type of music that I love to listen to and while I can describe the beat or tempo of the music, it's hard for me to put into words just why this music moves me so. It might be the artists and their life struggles or the message of the actual song, How can I describe a song without writing the words out? Maybe I can't, but I sure am going to try my darnest (is that an actual word?) to do it.
So help me in this. Throw out as many descriptive words as you can in your profiles for me to learn. I'm not a thesaures and don't own one, unless there is one in this contraption that I;m typing on. Help me and I'll help you

Your computer can be your window to the world! Not the same as being there of course. At least you won't have to fly!
50 years ago I went on a three months overland journey from England to India. We camped all the way and it was hard. However, it was the most amazing trip I ever went on.
I agree with you that travelling by land enables you to take in all the countryside at a pace one can ebjoy.

Oh WOW! I bet that was an amazing journey. I don't know about the camping part though. I'm too much of a softy wanting a comfortable bed to sleep on.

There are so many awesome programs and documentaries on television and on the web... and wIth google maps we can make a virtual tour... of course, the dimension of reality is lacking, but it comes pretty close..l
