Fast changing landscapes
Even in the three and a half months that I have been with WA, some things, particularly in Social Media , have been changing rapidly.
It is tough to keep up.
I have read today Mark Zuckerberg’s quote about his daughter’s first steps.
Mr Zuckerberg filmed the event in 360 video. He said later -
“When I was a baby and took my first steps, my mom wrote the date in a baby book.
When my sister’s children took their first steps, she recorded it with photos and videos.
When Max (his daughter) started walking, I wanted to capture the whole scene with a 360 video so our friends and family can feel like they’re right there with us.”
So gone for ever are the glossy ledgers with photos affxed with glued corner tabs. Poor Miss Zuckerberg will have her whole childhood filmed in glorious 360.
I have a granddaughter not yet 2 who already has been video’d and filmed more times that Marilyn Monroe. I doubt she will be too impressed in later life when she sees her whole childhood documented from birth.
I'm just glad mine wasn't.
But imagery is where we are. And we need to factor this in when working out future plans on the social media front.
Best wishes
Chris

Your right Chris.....unfortunately, when we were young there was so much to look forward to and find out about.
Things to see and things to do but you had to wait until you got to a place for that to happen, now we just travel through a screen!! even keyboards are on their way out.
Yep. Sad isn't it. But I wouldn't change my childhood for now (except for all weather football pitches)
Aye, Chris, there´s pro´s and cons with almost everything. And I too am glad I wasn´t filmed or photographed on a daily basis.

Someday instead of a family album on the coffee table there will be 3 or 4 thumb drives sitting in a coffee cup. How lovely
You have a vivid imagination. I can't wait
