Week 3: SAC takes Focus

Last Update: May 01, 2019

With week 3 in the books, we have officially made it past the half-way mark of the first "month" of SAC. Therefore, I am happy to report that I am more than half-way through the checklist!

Staying on Track Takes Focus

As I stated in my previous SAC blog update, I do not like to be behind in my work. I have been working diligently in all necessary areas: content, social media, and community involvement.

I have 8 of my 12 posts published, which leads me to believe that I will meet the minimum on time. In the process of writing, I've discovered that my average number of words per post is 1200 with my longest at 2200. So, I have added to my goals to publish some longer posts.

I have added a new Saved List in Jaaxy, for a new site topic that I'll be starting to write content for this week.

I have managed to maintain my minimum goal of one post per day on Facebook, and have attained my first 12 likes on my new page! (Thank you!) I plan to be more active there, but with priority being site content, I am using most of my available time to research and write. I did look into target marketing and ads on FB. I may implement some of that soon, as it seems affordable enough to at least run a trial with certain content.

It was a goal of mine to reach the Top 200, and as of writing this post, my rank is at 137. I am definitely on the platform more now than I ever was prior to the SAC. I'm grateful for the timing of it all, and the ability to be doing this full time.

No Time for Squirrels or Shiny Objects

My To-Do List today included researching and writing my first review for this SAC site. I am nearly finished, though unable to publish because I'm not settled on the title yet.

However, it will be my #9 post when I do publish, and it is over 1800 words, so I have accomplished what I set out to do.

In order to finish strong, I intend to remain as focused as possible on the necessary areas to complete all of the month one tasks of the SAC. There will be three more updates: 2 weekly, and 1 transition into month 2.

So NO Squirrels or Shiny Objects here!

Until next week :-)

Cris

Youre doing so well Cris, I am no where near that right now. I am still fiddling with my website. I remember Kyle saying this was the month to get it all exactly how you wanted it, menus, fonts etc. so Im still at that stage. Ive done my WA Review and 5 blogs but internet issues in Namibia have thwarted some of my creativity. But another week here and back to regular wifi!

Yes, I recall seeing your post about your trip, and wondered if we'd hear from you at all while you are there. Can't control the things that are out of your control... just roll with it! We're all just getting started... plenty of time! You definitely want to set your foundation first, so you're doing the right thing by sticking to your own track. I'm just fortunate to have good wifi and a lot of hours right now!

Safe travels,
Cris

You are doing well. I, too, have 8 new posts on my website. I've only done 3 that are not reviews, and trying to learn to do reviews better. Still my least favorite thing to write.

I'm still right there with you Fran! Not my favorite writing task, but I think if I continue, and improve, that I'll enjoy it more. I think this was my best one yet. We've got to be on the right path, right!? I hope at least! I'm going to try another this week.

I have my next one researched; just gotta write it tomorrow. It's interesting...the guy "stole" the name from someone else, and operates a complete scam. Should be fun to write...we'll see how much hot water I can get in.
