Week 3: SAC takes Focus
With week 3 in the books, we have officially made it past the half-way mark of the first "month" of SAC. Therefore, I am happy to report that I am more than half-way through the checklist!
Staying on Track Takes Focus
As I stated in my previous SAC blog update, I do not like to be behind in my work. I have been working diligently in all necessary areas: content, social media, and community involvement.
I have 8 of my 12 posts published, which leads me to believe that I will meet the minimum on time. In the process of writing, I've discovered that my average number of words per post is 1200 with my longest at 2200. So, I have added to my goals to publish some longer posts.
I have added a new Saved List in Jaaxy, for a new site topic that I'll be starting to write content for this week.
I have managed to maintain my minimum goal of one post per day on Facebook, and have attained my first 12 likes on my new page! (Thank you!) I plan to be more active there, but with priority being site content, I am using most of my available time to research and write. I did look into target marketing and ads on FB. I may implement some of that soon, as it seems affordable enough to at least run a trial with certain content.
It was a goal of mine to reach the Top 200, and as of writing this post, my rank is at 137. I am definitely on the platform more now than I ever was prior to the SAC. I'm grateful for the timing of it all, and the ability to be doing this full time.
No Time for Squirrels or Shiny Objects
My To-Do List today included researching and writing my first review for this SAC site. I am nearly finished, though unable to publish because I'm not settled on the title yet.
However, it will be my #9 post when I do publish, and it is over 1800 words, so I have accomplished what I set out to do.
In order to finish strong, I intend to remain as focused as possible on the necessary areas to complete all of the month one tasks of the SAC. There will be three more updates: 2 weekly, and 1 transition into month 2.
So NO Squirrels or Shiny Objects here!
Until next week :-)
