Just one of the issues I need to address on my SAC site, but first my update...

Summer and SAC Don't Mix

Well, I knew this round would be a hard one.

With my kids home for the summer, and planned activities and vacations under way, falling behind in June is an understatement.

We've got a couple of days left, but I think it's safe to go ahead and say that I'm not going to meet ALL of the tasks on this month's list. I'm going to push through to the very end though and complete as much as I can. I have done some of everything. Of course now, my focus is strictly on posts.

Continued Growth

While my family's been on the road the past few weeks, first through New Mexico, Texas, and into Louisiana (A TX Road Trip to Remember), then back through Colorado, Wyoming and South Dakota to visit one of our favorite places, the Black Hills / Mount Rushmore, I have had very little (or no) access to the internet.

Since logging into the platform and trying to work on my phone is maddening, I decided to complete a lot of research while out and about, and play catch up with publishing more content when we got back.

My focus has mostly been on material helpful to starting a blog, as my SAC site is my MMO site. I'm currently writing an affiliate marketing post, and am nearly finished.

I also took some time to go back and update some material, add new internal links, change some formatting, etc. I like how my site is looking the more I add to it. Evolution is good. I absolutely love that as time goes on, my posts are consistently longer without the effort. My last article was about 2300 and I could have continued but found a good point to branch off and link to another post. I like the 1700-2300 word mark. It's a good length for my style of writing.

Aside from the continuous writing, my next goal will be to work on site health. Now that I have a good foundation for my site, I peeked at the analytics and site health info, and it's not good! My mobile speed is horrible! Luckily I happened to bookmark a few recent blog posts by other members on steps to take to remedy that. I may be reaching out to the community in the process if I fail to see progress on my own.

Pinterest Update:

I have 1.9k views and 71 followers in my first month. Not a bad start, I think. I'm still getting the hang of creating awesome pins in Canva, and am getting more comfortable with using the Pinterest platform in general. I'm not following very many people yet, which I think is key to getting followers, so I need to follow more people and be a little more active, but I'm really liking it. I see the potential in using it to create traffic to my site. I'll definitely put in more effort this month and compare numbers.

Facebook Update:

Ohhhhhh Facebook. How you frustrate me.

Since I had all of my posts that contained links to my website removed some weeks back, I haven't done much there. I've debated whether I should keep the page at all. I don't see the point if I can't send traffic to my website. I know some other members have had issues too with the MMO niche. Facebook really doesn't like MMO sites. Doesn't seem to be an issue with other niche sites.

So, not putting any effort there at present except to debate now and again on what to do differently, or take the page down. Don't know yet.

The Next Leg of the SAC

I don't know where I'll end up this month, or where we're heading next month, but I'm excited all the same. I've learned so much already through being a part of this challenge. In July, I'll only be gone for one week, so I'll have much more time in the office, and hope to stay on track as I did the first month.

Overall, I'm not stressing about it. My kids are only home for two months in the summer, and family time is priority. They are LOVING all our travels, and their smiles make me smile.

Come August, when they go back to school, I'll be back to full time efforts here.

Til then, I just keep on keeping on!

Have a great day :-)

Cris

Sounds like a wonderful road trip Cris. I would love to do that someday. So true, family needs to come first.

Thanks, Mickey. It was wonderful. Our boys loved it. They're good little travelers. I got a little stressed that I wasn't able to complete as much as I wanted to on the road, but I know I'll catch up. And yes, family always first :-)

Oh please do enjoy your family first. I see my kids growing up so fast and only wish I could have spent more time off with them. Working hard all the time will hopefully allow me to take some much needed time off here and there but if you get the chance... go for it! Your kids will thank you!!
Michelle

Thanks, Michelle. I definitely try to spend as much time with the boys as I can, especially in summer because the school year is busy with activities and sports. I appreciate the support!

It can become a struggle at times, you can only do what you can do, and family must come first.
Stuart

Thanks, Stuart! Family is always first here :-) I find it hard though, when I am doing something FOR my family (this) but I struggle to juggle both at the same time. Summer is a short two months though. I'll catch up and be ready to steamroll again in August. Definitely curious to see what the next month brings.

Not quite sure what I think about the next set of challenges, fear or really how can we do that, still am enjoying it, just trying to factor more time for the business.
Stuart

Sounds .like you’re in for a very challenging month good lick!, Cris!

Yeah, thanks! I need it!

Cris, there are many MMO niche on FB fan page and FB Groups. One thing I learned from that from another lead generation company is that people buy from people who they know and trust. The best way to do it is to Brand You. You become the Brand. The Youpreneur. Almost all of the MMO niche most of them Brand themselves as an expert. Become the expert in marketing you brand. Thats a trend I am seeing and I am thinking about doing that. I encourage you to think about that and come up with a brand you and come in August you can be armed and ready to brand your MMO niche. Best wishes to you for the rest of this month.

I guess I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around what to post if I can't post my content? Every time I link to an article, it gets removed. So what should I be posting on FB if not my site links? I know I've seen other MMO posts and groups. I noticed that a lot of them use their personal name or a brand that doesn't include the words "money" or "income" or related. However my SAC site does have "income" in it. I've also tried copying other members blog post links to share, and they were removed as well. Some members have said that FB doesn't like WA links either. *sigh*

Landing page with opt in email no links to WA. Landing page using a domain name different from any affiliate link. A generic lead generation capture page. You’d be surprised people will want to crave for the information like how to be a youpreneur then series of email explains that and then bottom see how I blog link to your blog content. Then people can decide from there. No affiliate links. Yes, it will get removed but landing page with lead generation information doesn't get removed. Thats what I learned. Try to study how they did it. I did sign up for their info and I studied how they wrote their series of emails from their autoresponder. Its an interesting study.

Ok. Thanks. I'll leave the page up. I have too much on my plate right now, but when I have the time to research all that, I'll make the changes. Appreciate the guidance, Brenda!

I am going to try this method also and see if it works for me if it does I will be sure to keep you in mind and send you screenshots of them. Probably wont be able to do it until after my mothers visit this week from another state.

That would be so great, Brenda. I appreciate the help. I've been so lost in that area. Pinterest I'm getting down, but I really want to tackle this FB thing and use the lead capture pages and all of that. No rush from me here... I'm catching up on a zillion words and trying to check some more boxes before this month of SAC closes out. Keep in touch! :-)

Great update Cris

Enjoy the time with you kids, they wont be young forever!

I also have a problem with mobile speed, at least according to speed checker. All my pages and posts on both my sites are in the 40's

What is strange is that in the real world the sites load super quick on mobiles with no problems. I've checked across a range of mobiles and asked a few friends on here to check and they all say the speed is really good.

Interestingly my most succesful post on my niche site is about 4 months old and pretty much from the day it was published has been on page 1 of google and been there ever since.

Its actually the primary source of traffic to that site with around 40 organic clicks per day but according to speed checker the mobile speed is 43!!

Based on that I'm focusing on content for the new site rather than worrying about it but I'd be interested to know if you have any success improving your numbers

Enjoy the rest of you holidays

My site speed for mobile pages is also in the 40-50 range but it loads instantly when checking on other’s devices. I feel I have tried everything to improve this but nothing helps. Please let me know if you receive any good advice on this.
Thanks,
Michelle

Hey Kevin
I'm seeing the same thing here, 40's, ugh! I had to do a double take when I saw it. I've actually tested outside as well and don't see why it's testing so slow, but I'm still going to make some changes to see if I can bring it up. I will surely keep you posted.
Thank you!
Cris

I wouldn't let it stress you. I will have another look myself at some point but not sure where to start and focusing on content at the moment.

If you have any success please let me know!

Kevin

Wow! You are rocking this online business adventure! Well done for all your achievements.
I share your pain with Fb frustrations - ugh! We just gotta keep on keeping on though :-)
Enjoy the time off with your family and especially the summer - we are heading into a really cold front now - I'd rather contend with Facebook haha!
Wishing you every success.
Blessings
Louise

Thank you, Louise! I had planned for quite a bit more time to be put forth here, but I am a mother above all other things :-) I'll catch up. Thanks for the support!
