Does the Easter Bunny Deliver Badges?!
My family decided to do something very different for Easter this year. We are on a camping trip in beautiful Colorado!
That's right. No big to-do going on at my house. No ham baking in the oven. No twenty side dishes fighting for space in my fridge. No stress of entertaining. No better place to reflect on this day than in a cabin in the woods.
The Great Outdoors
If you've read my profile, or any of my previous WA blogs, then you've probably picked up on my love for the outdoors.
This year, my husband, my boys, and I decided to spend our Easter weekend in the mountains surrounded by the beauty of nature, which has so far included a few expected grazing cattle, and one very unexpected grazing llama!
Many times, on trips to this same area, we've been fortunate to see deer, elk, coyotes, pronghorn, and on one occasion, a roadrunner. This is the first time we've seen a llama!
My youngest son is my little explorer buddy. Ten minutes after arriving, and throwing his backpack in a corner, he was right back outside looking for rocks, bearded lizards, deer and elk sheds, or any sign that a bear may have crossed our path before us.
We went on a family hike, and boy was he beyond excited when he found two sheds; one deer and one elk! Wow...lucky day!
Conversation was interesting, as he was quite concerned with the questionable arrival of the Easter Bunny, since we are not home. He made sure to leave a letter behind, detailing our trip and asking not to be forgotten this year. I assured him that his letter would yield a positive result (as I had it on good authority that the Easter Bunny had come with us on our weekend getaway).
Surrounded by Blessings
Sure enough, Easter morning finally arrived. The Easter Bunny somehow ninja'd into our cabin all stealth like and dropped a load of chocolates that my boys are sure I would never buy them.
As it would happen, I received my own surprise this weekend. I've received the Top 200 Badge!
I will admit that I have been mostly focused on building my new website, and this rank seems to have happened merely in the process. Thanks to the SAC, I have aquired a better balance of working on my own goals, and helping more in the community.
I've learned so much in the past couple of months, and I surely plan to continue on this path now that I'm able to dedicate more time to WA.
Have a Wonderful Easter!
In lieu of ham, we will be grilling burgers, and then following them up with....yeeeees, s'mores! Cuz you can't go camping with kids and not have s'mores!
Wherever you are, and whatever your eating, I hope that you are surrounded by peace and love. I hope that the sun is shining, and I hope tomorrow finds you rested and ready to crush your next set of goals.
