Complete Newbie getting ahead

My name is Tara, I joined Wealthy Affiliate 4 days ago after it was recommended to me.
About a month ago I was thinking to myself "There has to be an easier way!". For about a week a joined up to a few different freelancing websites, thinking to myself that "It can't be that hard"... I waited and waited, and to be honest, I still haven't had any responses to my ads or my profiles. That was 3 weeks ago.
So here I was thinking that I would never be able to break into an online platform to make some extra money. Then I came across @IveTriedThat (Steve) who raved about this amazing opportunity. He told me that it wasn't just a way to make money, but so much more than that. When he told me it was free, I was a little skeptical to begin with, but I signed up. I definitely got worlds more than I was ever expecting.
Now, a few years ago I spent 4 years at University studying a Bachelor of Tourism Management, I was working a hospitality job and barely earning enough income to support myself. When I graduated, that was going to be it... finally a chance to break into the "real" world, the "adult world". I would be able to get an office job working with my passions of tourism. Two years later and I was still working that same hospitality job.
A year and a half ago the company I was contracted with didn't manage to get their contract renewed, which meant I had a decision to make. With my being the independent woman that I am... I was made redundant and moved to the other side of the country. I love Traveling and exploring new places, so what can I say?
This did not go to plan. I gained a position with the same hotel company I had previously been with, promised 25+ hours a week. I moved, left my old, familiar life behind. When I arrived at my new destination, I was lucky to get 10 hours a week. Since moving, I have worked for 6 different companies. Now I currently work breakfast in a 5 star restaurant at a hotel. I love the work, but the hours, not so much.
When I started the training at Wealthy Affiliate I was absolutely blown away at how much content was included and how easy it was to follow the guided, step-by-step instructions. I cannot thank everyone enough, for the training that is included, the support that everyone has been, and is continuing to offer. I'm up to step 10 in my first section of training, my website has been created, I have started to customize it and I cannot believe how far I have come, I don't even know the first thing about creating a website!!
