The Dude Let me Down! Or Did He?

Well, here we are in a new week. Last week's goal of getting at least one referral did not manifest, even after a serious discussion with the Dude (aka The Universe). Clearly, he did not hear me. Or he just didn't comply. Or something. Right?

No... No, I don't think so.

It would be rather easy to blame the Dude. After all, he could certainly have sent me a referral-- or 10-- if he wanted to. But I am not going to blame the Dude. I'm not even going to "blame" myself, which seems like the next logical choice.

It's like someone said (really wish I could remember where I read this, to give credit where it's due): if you haven't been successful, it's only because there is something you don't know yet.

Well, there's all kinds of stuff I don't know... ha ha.

So what do I need to learn here? Well, I know one thing: I tend to block myself at times. I'm not sure why, but I am working on it. Another thing that I know: the universe provides what you "ask" for. Now, that doesn't always mean putting that desire into words, but if you are constantly focused on something, the universe is going to send it to you. Unfortunately, we tend to focus on what we don't want.

I'm pretty sure that most of you are familiar with the Law of Attraction, so I am not going to regurgitate the whole thing here. Suffice to say, I am going to adjust my thoughts and refocus. Even though I didn't get that referral (which is still coming BTW, it just hasn't arrived yet...), I received other things that I needed. To wit, it has led me to some interesting conversations and prompted me to look into things that I have been wanting to look at, but kept putting off.

Also, I have said a couple of times now that I am currently lacking the technical knowledge that some of the other ambassadors have, so my goal has been to write from a more personal level, hopefully showing the value of persevering and never giving up. That's something I enjoy. Well, here's another opportunity to do just that!

So, I'm still good with the Dude. He didn't let me down at all. He just showed me that I have some more work to do. Now its up to me to do it. And hey, this week I can aim for 2 referrals. That's certainly doable, and will be even more exciting that having just one last week!

Finally, I am not sure why I am pointing this out, exactly, but it's popped into my head, so I'm rolling with it: I am using male pronouns for the Dude, even though I normally tend to think of the creative force of the universe in a more feminine manner.... Kind of weird, but that's how it's coming to me and I'm not one to argue with the Universe. Besides, "Dudine" (yes, that's the actual word) doesn't have the same ring to it.

This is going to be an awesome week. I hope it's the same for all of you!
